  1. it has been my observation that they only hang around themselves. We know they refuse to read or watch any source that is not Fox or Newsmax or social media like youtube or X. I knew several rednecks from Mississippi who told me in 2020 that Trump red wave was inevitable because “Everyone at church and neighbors are voting for Trump”. That small town never-been-anywhere-and-met-anyone-who-thought-differently than me outlook is why they so easily buy the election was stolen. We see them as incredibly gullible, and they see themselves as accurate predictors of the election based on what they know.
  2. if her model outweighs voter enthusiasm It at least tells us which side has enthusiastic voters. and as Obama was the first African-American presidential nominee of a major party, I imagine that picked up more than a few people who wanted to appear more progressive but just we’re not gonna vote for the black guy. If anything, that might be something she does not pick up. But as all of this now has the Dobbs factor, everybody is taking a best guess. Turning down get out the vote volunteers seems like a pretty significant sign of enthusiasm to me
  3. It’s more that she is not adding any weight to the hard data. Everybody is trying to find the magic way and the perfect number for how hard you put your thumb on the scale. She does not put her thumb on the scale.
  4. I had a long time practice with a female partner. It was very common to have husband’s coming in the office who attempted to control every aspect of their wives’ personal injury case. They would be outraged when we would not discuss their wife’s case until we had specific approval from their wife. We always made a special opportunity to break off the wife at sometime and let her know that in our state the recovery from personal injury pain and suffering is what we call separate property, and 100% hers even though we are a community property state. The husband would always talk about “our check” or even “my settlement”. I would tell them I have this discussion with every client, but if they were thinking about leaving their spouse for a divorce or just a brief separation to work things out we could mail the settlement check to parents or one of your siblings or girlfriends. We also said we were happy to issue two checks, with a smaller check for a couple grand they could go down to the bank and cash right then after calling our office, if they needed cash for any reason, “like some of our clients used to take a vacation by themselves or separate from their husband to think things out” Oh yeah, we had takers.
  5. Try having those older white women be a part of your normal dating age pool demographic when they trend Trumpy in our very Republican state. I have legitimate non-dirty old man reasons for sometimes dating younger women here. All of Jefferson parish and most of Orleans Lakeview area are all very maga. Which almost always means most of their friends relatives and neighbors are too. After several experiments giving people the benefit of the doubt, I no longer do that as it is a waste of time. That said, I hear the same thing from liberal women in very Trumpy areas. I dated an age appropriate lady from Tennessee for a while and she said she’s essentially not dating anymore because every man she meets is a huge Trump supporter. What I’m trying to say is we’re missing making money on creating a political themed dating app.
  6. You have to love the absence of GOP field offices, and the fact that people who are sitting at a Starbucks Wi-Fi making up calls grifted Elmo to the point he’s paying people not to knock on doors.
  7. I’d guess farmers already know that. They were there. Whether that will be enough to change their lifetime of voting Republican is another matter.
  8. for all of their faults this year, I have to commend my gators for never giving up, no matter how bad the shit around them was and no matter how much the fans and media hated them. I expected them to give up by this point - let alone be tied with Georgia in the fourth quarter with no quarterbacks
  9. I personally am a fan of furious jumping.
  10. I’m not sure how many seconds Penn State lost waiting to call that second time out. Idiots.
  11. White collar liberals took all those social positions that the white working class despised, be at the end of segregation, be at busing, be it affirmative, action, forcing colleges to fund women’s sports, trying to get an equal amendments passed. And like I said, there’s flagburning gay marriage, and a host of issues that decimated the working class from the Democratic Party. I don’t think we disagree with each other so much as you do not view the socials and racial issues as being the prime motivators overtime as I do. And the problem is, they are all interwoven. But I honestly believe you totally diminish the effects of 30 years of right wing news and radio delivering a world that doesn’t exist and a view of the Democrats policies that is actually a lie. You want to blame things on democrats union policies 30 years ago while not recognizing that there are many GOP fans who think that Hillary and Obama smelled like sulfur this is my last post of the thread jack
  12. LBJ thought we would lose whites for a generation in the Democratic Party for letting blacks be an equal part of America. He was wrong, a huge section of wide America ran from the Democratic Party forever because of racism. Look at the current GOP and tell me that racism isn’t one of the largest motivators of that party. Now, tell me you didn’t see the GOP move from daddy Bush and Willie Horton to the southern strategy to Reagan in Philadelphia Mississippi talking about states rights, to the overwhelming move of the old confederacy to the GOP, and tell me they were all more concerned about a host of other issues that were equal motivators to your as-yet-explained reasons. Karl Rove and culture wars combined with a Democratic Party being seen as the black party is the biggest reason those white people went GOP. And if you reread what I said, I referenced that there were multiple reasons. That is my comparative fault comment, so I’m not saying they were the only ones. So if you and F250 want to articulate your vision of why that is wrong, step right up. Edit: F250 just did. TY
  13. He is clearly bucking for general.
  14. I don’t know all of the criminal statutes of limitation, but I guess there is an off chance that a new more aggressive AG will find some Saudi shenanigans. I can’t imagine they would be that difficult to find if you looked.
  15. They never walked away on issues important to them - like protecting unions, making sure the richest among us get fairly taxed, protecting your rights when you’re injured due to the negligence of others or big Pharma, protecting your right to medical care as much as possible under whatever system was going on. What the Democrats did NOT do is preserve the world that those people loved: the Democrats did not preserve the soft racism and misogyny and homophobic tendencies of America collar white workers. The Republicans pandered to them with Willie Horton, the flag-burning “crisis”, and then the Muslim crisis with Sharia law going to take over bum-fuck Alabama, and then the gay marriage crisis… and now they are going to steal your children and change their sexual orientation crisis. The problem is not that the Democrats did not protect things that were the most important to those people - the problem is the Republicans told those people that how you live your life and the protections you had were no longer important because someone, somewhere, might burn a flag…. Or some trans person might be in the bathroom stall next to you. Or they are attacking Jesus and Christianity when they say happy holidays. Or Michelle Obama wants your fat kids to eat more vegetables, which is obviously a demonic attempt to control your children. The problem is that those uneducated people listened to fucking Rush Limbaugh on Fox News for 30 years. None of that was on the Democrats and I think the percentage of blame in a comparative fault ‘why that happened’ is less on Democrats than you think. Democrats lost those people in the culture wars, not because they weren’t focused on the main issues that in a more educated populous would have them thanking the Democrats. I used to blame the Democrats for their messaging, which was a valid criticism, but now I realize we have a country of uneducated idiots so completely incapable of understanding how those issues affect them that we have to hope that half of us can prevent the other from blowing up the country. The Republicans built an alternate universe through their unceasing, false media efforts these last three decades. That was also not the Democrats fault. What Democrats failed to realize, and this is on them, is that there would come a time when actual facts and truth were completely irrelevant in the political system. And here we are
  16. That’s kind of like when the whiskey tax folks told the federal government to fuck off. I know next to nothing about election law, but I cannot imagine that federal officials do not have the authority to monitor federal elections.
  17. I just voted. Meaning I dropped my mail-in ballot at the post office since I’ll be out of the country on Tuesday. If there are any single Democratic women Power Drinking Tuesday night on the cruise as they watch election results, my getting laid odds go waaaay up.* There is just something sexy about an older man in a Walz camo hat. * Women married to insufferable MAGATs who endured the month leading up to the election are not excluded. I will gladly fill their hand in a welcoming gesture across the aisle. Or alternatively, shake their hand with my hand.
  18. Get the appetizer sampler with the side of Imodium sauce
  19. Pics of sister? Give her my love. The best part about this is 2000 votes for Harris takes away and equal 2000 votes for Trump.
  20. maybe when he gets out, he can save money by moving in with Kevin Sorbo
