I would go with a company that calls self “Patriot” something or other…. Unless there is another company who calls itself “Patriot, Patriot”, or “More Patriot”.

Maybe he’s moulting. Did you ever think of that?

I guess that makes sense, as your immune system got amped up on the first shot to look out for what was coming in the second shot. -

Other than a sure left arm for three days, it was a breeze compared to what I expected. But that was the first one. What is the Surly consensus on the second shot versus the first shot? -
Evil Chauncey Gardiner would be a great band name. rep for reference

And speaking of tariffs, I was on Walmart’s site, and like it does it, reminds me of all the things I once upon a time put in the cart and never bought. One was a $39 countertop icemaker. You know, one of those that makes nine bullet ice cubes every six minutes.. I thought to myself, you should’ve bought that (hurricane season and all). So I went to Walmart and found that it was $37. And when I went to pay, I noticed that the”Seller” (China) added $32 for “seller shipping”. Cool, cool, cool. Cletus and Lurleen won’t mind that little tariff tidbit added to their purchase. It slightly annoys me that they don’t call it a tariff, but seller shipping. They should call it the Trump tariff tax Did. Not. Buy.

if you take the hat off, you will see that it’s just the Putin’s scrotum headband that he makes Trump wear during the two weeks’ between sanction threats periods. IOW, this is totally normal.

Good. You need the tariffs to continue, because the pain of the tariffs is perhaps the only thing that will wake up “never voters” and “never pay attentions” and maybe make them vote the right way one time. The pain has to be on Trump’s watch - and it has to be due to Trump’s actions. The body politic needs severe pain so we can heal politically. I’m on %teamstagflation, #teamhealthcrisis. It may be the only thing that keeps us from a white Christian theology autocracy future. On a completely unrelated side-note, it is fun to shoot at paper targets. So go buy a lot of ammunition and an AR or 5 so the whole family can participate in marksmanship competitions. and don’t forget the little ones!

Pharmacies are not offering Covid-19 shots in 16 states as unclear guidance from FDA leaves them in limbo GRAIG GRAZIOSI Fri, August 29, 2025 at 10:58 PM CDT CVS and Walgreens pharmacies are withholding Covid-19 vaccines in more than a dozen states in response to the ongoing uncertainty about federal vaccine policy. Amy Thibault, a spokesperson for CVS, said on Thursday that the vaccine is not available in 16 states due to the "current regulatory environment" in the federal government and unclear messaging from the Food and Drug Administration. On Friday, the company issued an update to her comment, saying that it could administer the vaccines in 13 of the 16 states and the District of Columbia, so long as those seeking the shots had a prescription from a doctor or other medical provider, according to theNew York Times. In Massachusetts, Nevada, and New Mexico, CVS pharmacies cannot offer the shots to anyone under any circumstances, Thibault said. Walgreens offered a statement as well, noting that its pharmacists were "prepared to offer the vaccine in states where we are able to do so" so long as recipients meet the newly narrowed FDA criteria determining who qualifies for the shot. A reporter at the NYT attempted to schedule appointments to get shots in all 50 states and the Walgreens website reportedly said that customers need a prescription in 16 of the states. While there is some overlap, the NYT reports that there are differences between the states CVS restricts and the states Walgreens restricts. The uncertainty at the pharmacies is fallout from Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy, Jr's recent insistence on changing vaccine policy. President Donald Trump fired former CDC head Susan Monarez earlier this week after she refused to go along with RFK's policy agenda. The states where CVS will requiring a prescription for those seeking vaccines are: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia and West Virginia, along with the District of Columbia, according to Thibault. Walgreens is reportedly requiring prescriptions in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, Washington State, West Virginia and Wisconsin, based on the NYTexperiment. Covid vaccine use saw a sharp decline after the pandemic. Only 23 percent of adults and 13 percent of children reported getting an updated Covid vaccine last flu season, according to the CDC. Cold and flu season is around the corner and with it will come another spike in Covid cases. Dr Peter Chin-Hong, an infectious disease specialist at the University of California, San Francisco, told the NYT it was "really unconscionable" that pharmacies would limit vaccine availability this close to cold and flu season. He noted that the increasing difficulty of actually acquiring a vaccine is likely going to drive down the number of Americans who take the shots. “It’s just raising more and more barriers,” the doctor said. “It’s like an obstacle course.” These are the conditions that make you eligible for an This year’s updated Covid-19 vaccines have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for adults 65 and older and younger people with certain medical conditions that put them at a higher risk of a severe Covid-19 infection. Although federal officials have emphasized that people who want a Covid-19 vaccine can get one after consulting with a doctor, the narrower approval may limit access to shots for some people who were routinely able to get them in the past. Here’s what to know about getting an updated Covid-19 vaccine. Who can get a Covid-19 vaccine? “FDA has now issued marketing authorization for those at higher risk: Moderna (6+ months), Pfizer (5+), and Novavax (12+). These vaccines are available for all patients who choose them after consulting with their doctors,” US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in a post on X this week. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the conditions that put someone at a higher risk of severe Covid-19 include: Asthma Blood cancers Cerebrovascular diseases Chronic kidney disease Some chronic lung diseases Some chronic liver diseases Cystic fibrosis Type 1 and 2 diabetes Gestational diabetes Disabilities, including Down syndrome Heart conditions HIV Mood disorders, including depression and schizophrenia Dementia Parkinson’s disease Obesity Physical inactivity Current or recent pregnancy Primary immunodeficiencies Current or former smoking Solid organ or blood stem cell transplant recipients Tuberculosis Use of immunosuppressive drugs Most of these conditions can affect the immune system in such a significant way that they would inhibit the body’s ability to fight off a Covid-19 infection, increasing the risk of that infection causing severe illness or death. These underlying conditions will make an estimated 100 million to 200 million people in the US eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine under the new framework, FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary and Dr. Vinay Prasad, the director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, wrote in an editorial in May in the New England Journal of Medicine. When and where will the vaccines be available? Covid-19 vaccines are expected to be available at many pharmacies and doctor’s offices in the United States this fall. Both Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna said their updated Covid-19 vaccines are expected to be available in the “coming days.” Pfizer and BioNTech said that their Covid-19 vaccine this season “will begin shipping immediately and be available in pharmacies, hospitals, and clinics” across the country. John C. Jacobs, president and CEO of vaccine maker Novavax, said in that company’s news release that it will “work with our partner Sanofi to provide access to a protein-based, non-mRNA COVID-19 vaccine for eligible individuals this fall.” CVS Pharmacy locations expect to receive the updated Covid-19 vaccines in the coming days, spokesperson Amy Thibault said. “We’ll administer FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccines in states where legally permitted at CVS Pharmacy and/or MinuteClinic to meet our patients’ needs,” Thibault said in an email. “Appointments can be scheduled online via CVS.com, through the CVS Health app, or patients can walk into our pharmacies and clinics.” But CVS is not yet offering Covid-19 vaccinations in some states, even if someone meets the eligibility criteria. The pharmacy chain said that it follows state-level pharmacy regulations and that in some states, pharmacists are forbidden from giving vaccines that are not recommended by the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. That group of independent vaccine advisers is scheduled to meet September 18-19. CVS said Friday that it’s not offering Covid-19 vaccinations in 16 states and Washington, DC, due to the current regulatory environment: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia and West Virginia. In all but three of those states — Massachusetts, Nevada and New Mexico — CVS pharmacies can administer a Covid-19 vaccination, depending on the patient’s age, with an authorized prescriber’s prescription, Thibault said. Walgreens also said in an email that most of its pharmacies are preparing to offer the Covid-19 vaccine where regulations allow. “Walgreens is prepared to offer the vaccine in states where we are able to do so. In accordance with FDA approval and state requirements, we will offer the vaccine to all adults ages 65 years and older, as well as to individuals under 65, who are at higher risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19, as determined by the CDC,” a spokesperson said in an email Friday. CVS in N’awlins has not received the new stuff as of Friday when I went in to try and get it. -

I am not a scientist, but working on the litigation against Zostavax, we naturally compared it to Shingrix. I was in my mid 60s and a perfect candidate for the vaccine, but knowing what I knew about it, I always told my doctors I would not take the Zostavax shingles vaccine. And knowing what I know about Shingrix, I just took it. So don’t rely on me, but do not NOT take it based upon the negative side effects of a completely different vaccine that is no longer given. Shingrix should not affect your hearing Dbeasy. Another case of shingles and your hearing could be worse. Feel free not to take it, but do not refuse taking it for that reason. Science and junk. -

It is not worth pursuing, unfortunately. Tinnitus is a recognized secondary complication to shingles and chickenpox. The live virus in Zostavax could cause shingles, so you think you could link the two. Unfortunately, the federal Multi District Litigation (MDL) judge issued what is called a “Lone Pine Order” saying that plaintiffs must produce evidence that they took a PCR Test (Polymerase Chain Reaction) - which is able to differentiate between naturally occurring shingles and vaccine induced shingles. Since the manufacturer never warned about this connection (vaccine, causing the very thing it was supposed to prevent), there was literally no reason for anyone to take a PCR test at the time they discovered they had problems. If you did not have those contemporaneous PCR test results when you first had a problem, you could not make a claim, or if you had made a claim, it was dismissed. so there is no federal litigation ongoing, and if you filed in federal court, you would be dismissed quickly and very likely sanctioned. It’s been a few years since I looked at it, and there were some individual state litigations ongoing, but it is hardly worth researching. Which sucks. Thanks big pharma.
