  1. Thanks for the source of the Stanford veto.  I've always believed the rumor because it's just so fucking Stanford.  Which is why I was so fucking disappointed that they may have been a reason we didn't get into the Pac12 and now are going to the bubba conference.

None of which alters the idea that they have a brand that still, despite the last decade, should remain in the game.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong, and the two Bay Area schools get ACC B1G invites sometime soon, but I think their best and most likely option is what you're suggesting.

Best approach is to get into any power conference, hold on, and hope that they can hang on when the next round of realignment takes place.  Lightning will also have to strike in the form of a generational football coach a la Harbaugh and a Phil Knight style alumnus to save the program.

Being relegated finishes Stanford football off, with very negative implications for all its other sports.

This sounds like Stanford and Cal bullshit to me.

Just look at them sending Condoleezza Rice and George W Bush to push the ACC to accept them today. It is just an unending stream of delusional nonsense coming from those campuses when it comcerns the business of sports. If they want to keep playing A4 football, wouldn't the Big 12 be a more viable path to persue? Instead, they want to politic for membership in a conference that exists on the opposite side of the continent.

That's a not very bright take.  You have no idea what their discussions were with the Big12 or what their preferences are.

Why would a school with as many resources as Stanford not use them?

Fuck Cal and Stanford. Hope they shut their football programs down.

Sorry about our baseball field's lights.

  4. Monday got a stent in the LAD (widowmaker).  Very "busy" procedure (lots of nurses/busy "operating room" - camaras and computers buzzing and you can hear and see everything).  Got crotch shaved just in case but ended up going through the wrist.

Feel good - doctor told me since I was asymptomatic to begin with I wouldn't necessarily feel better -- I guess I do but mostly from a anxiety standpoint since its over and now I have work to do and veggie recipes to learn.

So we can now stop with people posting they enjoy college football more than the NFL because it's a purer version of the game?

I always enjoyed it simply because it was linked to a university and it wasn't as slick as the NFL.  Plus, I thought my fanbases (Texas and Stanford) were just a better class of people than those who supported pro teams.

I prefer the pace of just listening to his podcasts, but if you don't listen to the podcasts, pretty good summary of all major theme(s).

  7. Remember Thou Art Mortal bump.

Started this thread with my bad calcium score.  Then the stress test, which kinda was okay - cardiologist thought it was a coin flip to take a CT angiogram.  Just got the results.  Bad.  Now I'm scheduled for the actual angiogram (catheterization).

    Wish me luck you boys.

If we aren't essentially training as if we were preparing for the Tour De France, we are doing it wrong.
