Still probably my favorite "war" movie. I tend to like the "war trial" movies.

Difficult, long, but interesting from the Japanese perspective:

Thanks as well. I paid when I was a previous name and no ad issues, and I figure my ad nightmare is because I don't subscribe. I'm about to go off the grid in madness or subscribe.
My adds move up and down, and block me when I try to type. They are like gremlins. Wait, I can get $10 off Amazon if I get a Discover Card?

The PT attack scene in TWE is one of the best scenes in all war flicks.
Plus Donna Reed and some of the John Ford gang.

I'm going to give you the finger for that.

Bardo: False Chronicles of a Handful of Truths (2022)
This was fantastic. Hard to recommend, but I think I fit the demographic -- I'm the age of the protagonist, I love Mexico, and I'm becoming a bit obsessed with death and life and birth. This flick has some truly beautiful moments -- the family beach scene is one of the most beautiful ever, and it begins with an insane image..
The movie is insists upon itself but it fucking works. At least for me.
Of the ten movies that have blown me away in my life, Innarritu has two - this and Amores Perros.
Again, I doubt this movie works for most, but it fell crazily into my wheelhouse.
The mexican directors are the best.

So him being almost 50 and in a long term relationship with someone like this has me thinking he didn't get a lot of pussy when he was younger.
I didn't get any when I was younger.
The batshit MILFs still don't give me any.

John Koskinen, the former I.R.S. commissioner who served during the first year of Trump’s presidency, said in an interview that he was not involved in the presidential audit process and that he did not know why the audits did not occur. “It does seem to me to be a legitimate question, if the I.R.S. had the responsibility and wasn’t auditing, what’s the explanation?”

Donald Trump is the favorite until he loses some primaries. No anecdotal evidence will change that. Tons of polls said he had no chance the first time around. They were wrong. Apparently racist pieces of shit don’t answer polling surveys. Desantis is leading the polls now, but let’s see how he does once Trump starts tearing him apart by tweet.
TL/DR.
But Trump is toast.

Actually it all culminated in my favorite song out of the genre in 1982 or so.

Wow. No replies. If memory serves, and it's not serving well lately, one of us siblings got the More Specials album and we listened to it the first Christmas I got back from college. Enjoy yourself was an immediate favorite. Rat Race and Rich Girl had more staying power.
The Specials morphed into English Beat which morphed into Fine Young Cannibals by the time I was scurrying to figure out what to do post undergrad.
This music didn't enthrall me but it was certainly a big part of that era. A good version of what ultimately was my favorite of their tunes:
This was fun stuff that I never truly connected to -- I don't think it seemed to try or give a damn. Other than maybe to free Nelson Mandela.

Trump's done. The key now is to not get caught up in the denoument, and focus on the wherever white christian nationalism next decides to roost.

Do you think alcoholism, without DUI or other threatening behavior to others, is similar to domestic violence?
As a starter, alcoholism can be a protected disability under the ADA and similar state statutes. There is no protection for conduct which is domestic violence.
Society views the two very differently, as would any employer from a PR standpoint.

Pinocchio (Del Toro) - 2022
I totally bought into this and thought it was great. Really thought provoking flick. To make a film that was this dark and yet retain the lightness it had -- pretty amazing.

[Chorus: Black Francis, Kim Deal]
Gouge away
You can gouge away
Stay all day
If you want to
Mhm, mhm, mhm, hm
Hm-hm, mhm, hm
[Verse 1: Black Francis]
Missy aggravation
Some sacred questions
You stroke my locks
Some marijuana if you got some[Verse 2: Black Francis]
Sleeping on your belly
You break my arms
You spoon my eyes
Been rubbing a bad charm with holy fingers
[Verse 3: Black Francis]
Chained to the pillars
A 3-day party
I break the walls
And kill us all with holy fingers[Chorus: Black Francis, Kim Deal]
Gouge away
You can gouge away
Stay all day
If you want to
Mhm, mhm, mhm, hm
Hm-hm, mhm, hmVery debasing song.
You're a debaser.
