  1. As a starter, alcoholism can be a protected disability under the ADA and similar state statutes. There is no protection for conduct which is domestic violence. Society views the two very differently, as would any employer from a PR standpoint.
  2. Pinocchio (Del Toro) - 2022 I totally bought into this and thought it was great. Really thought provoking flick. To make a film that was this dark and yet retain the lightness it had -- pretty amazing.
  3. Emily the Criminal (2022) This was terrific. Didn't realize why I recognized the lead until after.
  4. Don't Worry Darling (2022) (or something, Darling) I've got a thing for Florence Pugh and her rounded edges but movie was poor. .
  5. I'm not saying we have to "get to the bottom of this". You're not going to wait for the trial. You just need to give him a chance to explain himself. There is a slight chance he's got an exculpatory story, and that may lead to some hard decisions on UT's part. I think we just need to get him into the office after he posts bail and have this simple exchange: Dennis Taylor UT: Answer! Did you threaten this customer fiancee or use profanity in any way? Brad Beard: Yes Dennis Taylor UT: You're fired.
  6. This would be stupid. UT has to, at a minimum, provide Beard with some due process. That means bringing him in for at least one meeting and getting his side of the story. I'd have zero respect for UT if they didn't do that for anyone, no matter their pay grade. And if they don't want to get fucked on firing him for cause.
  7. I'm an employment lawyer. I'd suspend him with pay and do your own internal investigation. Although he's salaried so who the fuck cares -- you'll know how it's going to end within a few days.
  8. Counting this game and the two that France have left to play, this will be by far their worst performance.
