I almost hope they do start hassling brown and Latino citizens in Texas to sway those who continue to vote in support of these assholes. Not really, but kinda?

    Yeah, no.

Finished the existentialist book. It was a good read and I enjoyed learning about these philosophers. Heidegger, Sartre, Beauvoir, and Merleau Ponty in particular.

Beginning another 'list' book titled, The Book of Books (2018) this week. Hoping it will give me some ideas of what and where I wish to learn next.

Surprised that as a "best loved" list that doesn't seem to bad.

  4. Room Full of Mirrors:  A Biography of Jimi Hendrix (2005) Audio

What a downer.  Don't do drugs.

I thought it was a solid history but didn't really capture any joy, if any, or technique, of creating the music.

Shawshank is the undisputed GOAT prison movie. But Shot Caller might be Number 2.

My sincerest apologies to Green Mile, Escape From Alcatraz, and American Me. All great films.

This is a laughable take on "prison movies".

A Prophet, Le Trou, A Man Escaped, In the Name of the Father, just as far as Euro prison movies.

Papillon, Bad Boys (Sean Penn), Midnight Express

  6. El Conde (Netflix) was a great surprise.  Should have been nominated for Best Picture.

Wings of Desire meets What We do in the Shadows.

"What a pain in the ass," said Pinochet.

    Serious question... why?

Because maybe they can afford donating to more than one candidate?

As far as key races, I have state rep (Ginsberg), state senate (Nathan Johnson) US Rep (Sam Eppler) and US Senate (Allred).

Johnson has it in the bag - the rest have little to no chance, but still worth throwing them some $$ to at least provide some hope for next time around.

Also a lot of Hispanics in Texas like Ranch culture and shooting guns on the weekend.

This is it.  Those dudes are all for trump because of guns.   QED.

That's why Texan Dems need Roland Gutierrez types and lots of photos of the deer or wild hog they just shot.
