  1. I just watched his HUDL video for the first time. Holy cow ... he's killing people out there. I realize it's in the genetic code of every fan base to say their commits are underrated but some of the services have this kid as a 3-star. I don't see how anybody could watch two minutes of his HUDL video and think that.
  2. I have been to ABGB twice in the last 10 days. I told my companions about Mark and how he owned ABGB etc ... My Mexican friends tell me that a man dies three times. Once when his heart stops beating, then when he is buried/cremated and then the last time anybody says his name. So I'm doing my best to keep him alive.
  3. I think it's simply that she didn't break any existing law. As I think about it, I don't even think it was a scam. I think she simply launched a crypto coin, made no promises, dumb people bought in, and she got away with their money. The fact that she made no promises negates there being a scam. I could be wrong, of course.
  4. In tangentially related news, the Hawk Tuah girl gets off scot free. I say "Good for her." Many who lost their money are accusing her of "pump and dump" and breaking the law. I'm no lawyer, but I can't see what law she broke. And I refuse to feel bad for anybody who got "scammed" by her. I can't wait for the upcoming documentary.
  5. No. Dude brings me exotic beer from his travels and, actually, I don't care at all about leaves.
  6. They take them to a nearby small town and then drive through the streets letting them loose. But the joke is on them because they just blow back to the first town. Leaves are really pretty much a zero sum game.
  7. I would have to empty that thing about 150 times to do my yard. Regarding leaf blowers: my neighbor pays for a lawn service to come and take care of his yard. We both have many trees. Their solution is to blow all of his leaves onto my yard.
  8. That's great news on Bowmand and Ojo. Starting to pick up steam.
  9. Athletics at UT is just so much more enjoyable now that we can just buy the players we want. "There's a middle crew woman in Sheboygan who's 6'3", 170 .lbs and generates 428 horsepower through her oars? Sign her up!"
  10. I'm thinking this Matthew Brennan kid might turn out to be pretty good. Heartbreaking to see Del Grosso do all that work and then get reeled in at the very end by Brennan and Groves. Visma got themselves a good one, it appears.
  11. Really? That's you point? That CDC didn't go out and find the next Red Auerbach in the middle of a basketball season after the guy he hired, who apparently WAS a good coach, drank too much whiskey, got into a domestic disturbance in the middle of the night, and had to be fired? Which coach should he have hired eight games into the season?
  12. Holy crap ... I think CDC's batting average when it comes to coaching hires is pretty good.
  13. I am directly responsible for that play. If you want to buy me a beer sometime, I'll be happy to accept. Also, regarding when Austin turned crappy, one of my favorite things to ever post on Traces of Texas is this letter to the Austin newspaper complaining how things are not like they used to be. It was published in 1884: "Thus one by one the old landmarks leave us and but few of the original houses of Austin remain. A few years hence the citizen of 30 years ago will be a comparative stranger in the home of his youth with no familiar objects to greet his eye save the eternal hills on which the capitol city sits enthrowned as a queen in her royal beauty and the sparkling Colorado at her feet." ----- "Old Citizen" complains about how Austin has changed too much in a letter to the Austin Daily Statesman dated October 5, 1884
  14. Louisiana ties are even better than Polynesian ties.
  15. Sark's plan is to hire all of the football coaches in America. The other teams won't have a chance if they don't have any coaches.
  16. What we have here is a failure to communicate!
  17. Mine, too. I had a blast this year. Saw a great free show at ABGB all day Friday and had their great pizza. Saturday it was an all day show at the Continental that ended with ShinyRibs. Sunday an all day show at C-Boy that also ended with Shinyribs. Granted those weren't official SXSW events but they were SXSW adjacent and would never happen (and don't really) were it not for SXSW. Saw several other bands during the week. Altogether about 30 hours of great music and great times with my friends. My liver hates me now.
