  1. Wow ... Wake Forest couldn't fire Danny Manning for cause back in 2020 (thus nullifying his buyout) so they paid him a 14.7 million dollar buyout. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/acc/2023/05/26/wake-forest-danny-manning-a-14-million-buyout/70258444007/
  2. Remember, kids, when you read history, it's the winners that get to write it.
  3. Chronicle with a nice remembrance. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/lifestyle/article/john-nova-lomax-writer-houston-texas-dies-18088579.php
  4. Subtitles is where it's at. The dubbing didn't look too good to me but it might be because I speak German fluently.
  5. Watching Babylon Berlin. Hands down one of the best Netflix shows of all time. Holy smokes!
  6. James McMurtry also performed in drag in Tennessee to protest.
  7. I don't think the world or Surlyhorns knows how hard/far Murphy could sling it if he had to.
  8. The Colorado GED program doesn't seem to be sending out its best.
  9. I hate to be Thomas Carriger-esque on this guy, but he has strong forearm game.
  10. Jeeze, dude. Take a chill pill. You may be taking these internet forums a bit too personally for you own good.
  11. I can see it now. LED lights that flash "Coca Cola" every time a player takes a step.
  12. I like it. No balls, no blue chips, nothing ventured, nothing gained, you miss every shot you don't take etc... Complete opposite of Mack Brown filling up in February-March of the preceding year.
  13. This article is great. Santos may be the dumbest SOB in a congress that Tommy Tuberville And Lauren Boebert are members of. https://www.businessinsider.com/case-against-george-santos-slam-dunk-legal-experts-say-2023-5
  14. Man, it just kills me. I spoke with him in late February for about an hour and he sounded like the old Nova, like he had this spring in his voice that had been gone. I really thought he'd turned the corner. I'll just never understand this stuff. Never. Fuck me.
  15. Indeed. I still have nightmares about Kaiser Bob's brand of basketball. RIP Lance Blanks.
  16. I hope what KD does at the end of this video answers the question of whether he's "one of our own" for the last and final time.
  17. I got a text last night at 11:55 p.m. from one of my best friends, a man whom I've known for 50 years. We grew up together, went to UT together, were housemates in Austin and later Houston for years. Point being, he wouldn't BS me. He is now the IT director for a company in Maryland. The jury foreman of the Proud Boys trial works directly for him. Within an hour of the verdict coming out the jury foreman had been doxxed completely on various social media ---- his full name, his address, date of birth, social security number, wife and children’s names, the address at which he works, the dates of birth of his children etc.. all broadcast out there. My friend said “the threats against him and his family that immediately started coming in, are graphic and terrifying, especially in a world in which every nutjob has a gun and might be looking to make some sort of political statement.” There’s a program/application called “Signal” that allows for complete anonymity and is a text messenger just like the one you have on your phone, the difference being that when you have Signal on your phone and when I have it on my phone then anything we text to each other is completely encrypted. So last night at 11:55 p.m. my friend texts me about all of this and said he and his team are pulling an “all nighter” and an “all weekender” to get the company staff of 150 or so employees on Signal by Monday morning. I guess that’s step one of trying to give this man some measure of security. This is pretty disturbing stuff. I think about the impact this might have on future court cases. Who is going to want to find anybody guilty of anything if the repercussions are that your personal information is going to be made available to any weirdo who wants to make some sort of point? We’ve already seen judges shot and killed. And who's going to want to be a judge or to be on the jury for a Donald Trump trial, knowing that a guilty verdict might result in a death sentence for you or your wife or kids? I think about this poor man and how he’s going to be looking over his shoulder for a long time to come. He’s not going to be able to go out to eat with his kids without worrying that the next guy coming though the restaurant’s door is coming for him.
