  1. Correct - and then forgot to order coleslaw with them
  2. My state farm didn't work like that but probably an exception. They would not accept stated value until the restoration was finished. Left me in limbo since I had already paid for over half the work. If the shop burned down I would have been out that amount. Haggerty had no issues
  3. You hit the subject on the head. The problem iwth the meniscus is lack of blood flow to a lot of it. That's why they snip out the tear. If the area has blood they sew it back
  4. Started skiing a few years after the first knee surgery which had both sides opened up. No issues. Tore meniscus in same knee in 2010. It totally depends on what type of tear (bucket handle etc). Bucket handle has quick recivery because they cut out the tear. Other types get the tear sewn back. Less long term issues but longer rehab. I have had no issues in 12 years. Haven't skiied on it but I would have no fear trying.
  5. Nashville is claiming their 1990's stadium needs replacing. Man their must be different standards for construction materials for a building that lasts 100 years and a stadium that doesn't make 30
  6. Yeah - If I have to jump off a cliff in mid run I would really appreciate a lot of warnings ahead of time
  7. Last quote was 175 each. No clue why overiders were 75 each and hubcaps 2x that. Gonna go with aftermarket here. We are not talking fancy - 9 inch and round
  8. That was one of McRaven's opening remarks. he said he had no idea who spoke at his so something like "if you can't be memorable be brief". Of course he was memorable.
  9. My bumpers and overiders were about 600 each which is OK. Just got another quote and everyone wants 150 each for dog dish half moon hubcaps. My top amount is 100 and that is almost 3x aftermarket. I am not doing a show car so I guess aftermarket is it
  10. Could we get a few more details on this?
  11. has anyone rechromed hubcaps? I can buy knock off of the dog dish caps for 35 bucks but the rechromers want 150 per cap. I know the 35 bucks ones are probably crap but 600 bucks ain't cheap either
  12. That's the problem. British used cellulose paint in 60's and single stage. No one sells it anymore and it probably had lead in it. So you are about 2-3 degrees of freedom from the original. Best hope is to match the original in an odd place - like the back of the dash etc.
  13. Man choosing paint is not easy. I know what I want - the same as we used in the 80's. Unfortunately you can't buy that anymore. After 2 years up north being worked on mechanically it is getting close to paint time. In the early 80's we matched the original paint and got PPG paint in the color below. Unfortunately that is not longer sold. The interwebs are full of stories of matching MGA Iris Blue and it seems like maybe/possibly the 1979 VW Florida Blue is it. Getting samples sent to me. Really wish Dad had left an old can around somewhere to make it easier know
  14. We got Taco Mama and if you try to take that - Civil War starts again.
  15. Well I am just glad you are discussing things south of the Tennessee River
  16. James was proof that heart mattered. He was told his entire life that he was "too small". Dude flat out could play. I think he played 5 years in NFL and at one point had the NFL single season record for total yardage. And it stood for a long time. RIP - you were a player.
  17. Had the same thought. Phrasing shows up again
  18. Look at estate sales. Lots of encyclopedia's show up there
  19. Fred definitely came in 4th place in that group
  20. Sure does And for those who remember it from a few years ago - still haven't got the trigger fixed yet
  21. I have a cheap Maratec on my Sub. It is essentially a NATO without all the extra stuff
  22. I have programmed a second fob for three different cars. Yep - it's a racket with dealers. For the cars I found, that if you have at least one working remote, you can do it. Instruction for both cars were on the web. It definitely involved a lot of goofy crap (turn key three times, lock/unlock doors three times etc) to get into programming mode. In the end the on line instruction saved a bunch
  23. Probably starting a flame war but does anyone use the chronograph function on Daytonas or other chronos? Every vendor seems to have a model but wondering if anyone uses it. On the other hand I haven't used the rotating bezel on my Sub very much either
  24. They said the opposite to me. Mine will auto renew at list price so I get to call next year. I am just glad to get 12 months and both cars on same bill. used to have to call every six months for 2 cars = 4 calls per year
