  1. It was in Austin a few years ago and very cool to walk around at
  2. Actually get an old can or something to catch the solvent as you use it. I always use a lot on the tape but catch about 90% of it to use again. Other tips - after sliding grip on - bang the end of club on ground. Nothing worse than a small gap on the top of the grip. Quickly line up the marks or texture so it doesn't look corkscrewed. If you are putting a long putter grip on then pay someone to do it. Those things are incredibly hard to get on without the grip drying out and leaving a lot left to be installed. Make sure oyu have a vise - I did four grips once in a hotel with nothing but a dinner knife to get old one off. Not fun. Also get a hooked knife blade to cut off old grip - I got mine at Golfsmoth before they closed so no idea where to get them but they are required for graphite shafts
  3. I know -we discussed that trigger before. I did send pictures to Dave so I am thinking of it
  4. Harbor Freight probably has one for less
  5. They do hidw the misses. A few years ago Avery had a few weeks of mats only. Man I was hitting really nice irons because you could hot behind the ball and still make almost perfect contact versus the real grass grabbing the sole
  6. Read an interesting article on GLFWRX about the obsolescence of the 3 wood. Basically the new balls and spin rates and launch angles are 5 wood make the 5 wood go farther than traditional 3 woods for average golfer - not for pros with really fast swings
  7. I would not drill out the center of a weight supporting leg. Someone leans on it and it collapses.
  8. As a lefty I used to love the spring mutil vendor demo day at Golfsmith. Only way to hit multiple sets of clubs and know that will have a good lefty selection
  9. Still playing a white hot 3 ball SRT with jumbo grip. Have a bunch of older and newer putters but just like the width of 3 ball. As I get older I started missing the sweet spot by 1/4 inch or so and 3 ball is so wide it doesn't matter.
  10. wowser... are you expecting the Russians to take over?
  11. You must work for an auction company...
  12. Until we get it mounted - no decisions. Right now I am leaning towards a strip on the top or bottom to fill gap. Having door stripped to re-stain so this makes some sense
  13. Did not know that. Considering it was televised that must be some sort of record
  14. Now that is an idea whos time has come
  15. I was at that game also. Hottest game I ever attended. Had 50 yard line seats behind Texas bench. By that I mean right behind - like row 3 or so. Almost felt like yelling at the Texas players to sit down so I could see. Still mad about how that season ended. Number 1 and 2 lose and number 5 jumps everyone. Nebraska was very overhyped and it finally showed.
  16. Maybe consider some protective gear like BMX folks use.
  17. That's a good choice. otherwise every weekend is filled with a few hours of maintenance and not enjoyment.
  18. Have or had two. First was also a 1960 - red but previous owner painted it black. I stripped it and painted sky blue. The one I have now is 1962 that has been either my Dad's or twin brothers since 1980. It is still the original sky blue. A picture of them side by side in 80's Sunlight does not do that color justice. it is not washed out like it looks
  19. How are you doing that? Been riding MTB since 99 and never hit knee on handlebar
  20. Hopefully that is all it is. There is an injury to the lining that usually occurs in car wrecks when the knee hits something like the dash. I had it happen in a marathon when the kneecap decided to take out everything nearby. Had to have all the scar tissue removed via surgery and not with a scope.
  21. Some related background info on it http://www.golfwrx.com/607310/golfwrx-exclusive-the-story-behind-the-new-costco-ks1-putter/?utm_source=Front&utm_medium=Featured_Trending&utm_campaign=GolfWRX_OnSite&utm_content=unused
  22. Old timers were real good at doing that by ear/sound. Definitely a lost art. Exactly how I did the twin SU's. had a piece of tubing stuck in the ear.
  23. I can't imagine how much fun tuning a 6 barrell would be. Never enjoyed helping Dad with the four single barrels on a Corvair and my MGA had twin SU's which were a ton of fun (manual said "turn the adjustment screw until it sounds good")
