  1. Ours were white - Mom still has them as a period correct bookcase item... The Huntsville library will take any books from an estate but not these.
  2. Dominos thin crust??? I got one of those and found out you have to ask for a traditional cut. Hate it when people decide to change the accepted rules and don't ask if you agree. Had some Einstein chef at a Hilton Garden decide I wanted a batch of wheat germ in my pancakes. Um no and next time you want to do something outrageously strange - ask me first...
  3. Research Nixon - especially the last days before a form of donation reporting became required. IIRC they had safes full of cash just lying around. Separate from that they had criminals operating break ins from offices in the White House
  4. I think I mentioned this on Shaggy a few years ago but back in the late 80's I was a groomsman in a wedding in mid November. It was a "mixed" marriage - he went to Auburn and she went to Alabama. They managed to mess up everyone's Saturday with a 5:00 wedding. The late afternoon game was Alabama/Notre Dame and the early evening game was Auburn/Georgia. Pretty much guaranteed neither fan base was going to watch their game. I did see several folks with the old fashioned transistor radio and earpiece in the church and others were whispering for them to tell the score of the game.
  5. Think I knew more than my Fortran professor - which wasn't saying much.. He also demanded we turn in punch cards but never realized that I was using TSO and then the PUNCH command. So much easier to correct a mistake and never worried about dropping the program deck. Still have a couple thousand unused punched cards - but not from them. Before retiring from IBM I ordered a couple of boxes of them. I used them all the time for notes instead of postit notes so I keep using them.
  6. On the 30 for 30 for Bo one of the people they interviewed said - Bo only had one play in that game because to give him two plays would be totally unfair...
  7. Don't snitches get some percentage? Just asking....
  8. Is there something I am missing here. Using Firefox and the new theme has some sort of picture of what seems to be clouds as a background but the heading and then the box forthe topic take up 90% of the screen, I have a one inch section htat shows the background.
  9. Well Cruz or his campaign has no clue about robo calling. Got one yesterday except I moved back to Alabama last year and the phone does not have an Austin area code anymore. No idea how they decided I could be a targeted voter.
  10. The original Gone in 60 Seconds.... It was awesome at drive ins. No guns though
  11. We had one that was serious when they posted the missing dog answered to the name of "Treats"... That ought to narrow it down.
  12. Loved him as Coach Bowerman in Pre....
  13. Yep it is worth the time to go to. Still have a couple of mid 80's HP 41 calculators and just used one this morning
  14. Much worse than a Rigid tool calendar....
  15. I think they had to send them in. No picture but at one time merchants had a phone book sized list of stolen cards and were supposed to check any card purchase against the list before allowing them to charge.
  16. Think they are illegal now but in the 80's a girl I knew had a German Shepard/Wolf breed. It was not an accident but deliberately bred that way. Very friendly but I remember it having a rear end that looked like it took steroids.
  17. IIRC is was about ten years after the divorce
  18. Took 3 months to go look at the meter? Also if they were just making it up like the reports said, then your actual reading should get you a large refund
  19. Nike getting a bargain with Alabama
  20. The other day at work someone at 1/8 (yes 1/8) not 1/4 or 1/2 but 1/8 of a doughnut. Basically cut off one small bite and left the rest for someone else.
  21. Good point - they're off the list. This reminded me that back in college I was told by the manager of McDonalds that the policy was two packs of ketchup for a sandwich and one for french fries. No exceptions. That was in the 80's and obviously has changed but this crap isn; t new.
  22. Very similar to the ketchup policy for take out. they seem to keep the packets in the safe next to the cash.
  23. Yep - some seem to only like Reed if he's kicking butt in the Ryder Cup... I hate to admit that I like the guy because he got to the tour the absolute hard way. He won something like 5 or 6 Monday qualifiers just to be allowed to tee it up and then won a tournament to get status. Irregardless of his college mess I can't think of another well known pro that started with Monday qualifiers and went from there.
  24. And don't turn around and hell "HI" to your friend "Jack"
