  1. did I just hear that they did not move the hole location on 13? never heard of keeping the same location on two straight days
  2. 12th green looks really bad at 10 am
  3. crap - was trying to type "was not" and somehow left out the second word...
  4. First look at pin on 9. Gonna be fun. Of course Fowler just stuck it a few feet away. Already seeing brown spots near cup
  5. Nicklaus once said that every time he heard a golfer complaining about the Open course he knew the guy was ready to contend
  6. Well you could make a case for 3 of the 4 at least. He already has the US Open and could have had the PGA except for the goofy local rule about hazards. His length is perfect for Augusta so the one that IMHO he has the least chance is the Open. Of course we said the same about Phil until 2013.
  7. Go find a copy of Massacre at Winged Foot about the 74 Open after Miller shot his 63 the year before. Irwin won with something like 7 over. USGA is tired of John Deere like scores.
  8. and tickets are still available - just wow.. If I lived there I know I would have gone it's the US Open no matter who missed the cut. https://golfweek.com/2018/06/15/the-forecaddie-tickets-available-heading-into-weekend-at-shinnecock/
  9. really liked Poulter's honesty on his mess from the bunker. Something like - a really bad shot from there would wind up 30 feet away. I wound up 30 yards
  10. Listen to him... he's pre med
  11. This gonna make the US flag look pretty weird
  12. Interesting topic on Golf Channel last night on the 7th in 2004. The previous USGA official (before Davis) was still defending the crap they rolled out. There was also one USGA offical who claimed without any supporting evidence that a "rogue" greenskeeper had rolled the green late the night before. They also claimed it was watered between groups and Phil has said it was only watered if the group had a double bogey or worse. Also they pointed out that several players had putted of the green on saturday
  13. The overhead camera shot of Pavin on 18 was just amazing. A few oddities from 1995 - Pavin only won one more PGA tournament after. I would have put him down for at least 5-10 more. Also he won with one a sets of irons - Cleveland VAS- that would not win any design contests but obviously worked for Pavin.
  14. I was reading something today and learned about what happened to Phil on 18 last time. He never mentioned it but he had a big rock right behind his ball in the bunker. Fred Funk was in his group and said it was obvious from the sound that he hit the equivalent of a knuckleball and took a 6 or 7 to lose. All Phil said about it was he shouldn't have hit in the bunker.
  15. have some rep for that effort
  16. if it is a Rolex there are certain issues/conditions to be aware of when coming into US. I can't remember all of them and they may have changed but you need to do some quick research to avoid issues.
  17. Not sure whether this is lazy or something else. At work the small breakrooms have rolls of paper towels on a vertical bar mounted on a piece of wood. Multiple times I have found the roll on the bar empty but someone opened a new roll and just set it on the counter next to the empty one. Did they save 2 seconds by not throwing away the old one?
  18. I'l add the original Gone in 60 Seconds because they filmed parts of it without asking for permission. Just went out on early weekend mornings and hit the accelerator.
  19. I did that exact line on the "other" forum a while back. Very solid movie and the director told the stunt driver he did not want to see any brake lights during chase scenes. You worried about saving your own skin? Yeah, I am. It covers my body.
  20. For some reason I thought UFC was going to a system where you were weighed frequently and had to be within a certain percentage to fight in order to eliminate the drastic weight cuts.
  21. Good point - I hated waiting 8 hours to see who some of them were but understand your point
  22. Way to late to fix but it would have been a good idea to show the names of the vets they interviewed before some of the episodes.
  23. Interesting links but edited to remove since it also had other junk.. Most expensive series ever produced at the time.. never knew the Bastogne scenes were filmed indoors with paper snow
  24. "patented" used in sports. As in "he lead his patented 4th quarter comeback...."
