  1. Georgia overnight updates and takeaways: 1. 1.2 M votes cast (almost dead on the nose) 2. Women have now outvoted men by 130k 55% to 44.7%, I guess .3% is other 3. Non voters are 173k. Of that 45k are 18-29, and 45k are over 65. 4. Fortress Atlanta - Fulton County 138k votes cast or 15.4% compared to 2020 Dekalb County - 82k votes cast or 13.9% compared to 2020
  2. I read something a few years ago about the Japanese developing tidal power (not a new idea by any means), which would seemingly be ideal for an island nation. I haven't read up on new developments on that in a while. Personally, I've always been partial to the idea of solar updraft towers and their potential, specifically for arid areas. In order to work, you need a canopy, which could double as a greenhouse. Additionally part of the updraft captures the moisture and leaves it within the canopy, thus helping with irrigation. That said, there are a lot of good ideas, just not developing quickly enough, for lots of reasons.
  3. Interesting points in the below article, what mainly stuck out to me is that water is now a problem, something that didn't immediately jump out to me (it should have) as they are dependent on pumping systems. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c8elzx8dg7zo Article below explains the why, for those interested. To summarize, Cuba is dependent on imported oil, predominantly imported from Venezuela (which has cut shipments due to their own problems). Additionally, the plants in Cuba have been woefully maintained for generations. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/how-cubas-electrical-grid-collapsed-what-comes-next-2024-10-18/
  4. I just hope you don't defile the fondue.
  5. It's also pseudo science bullshit. I mean while you are at it, consult the psychic hotline or a palm reader, because at that point, why the fuck not?
  6. I wish you'd keep my family business private. I thought that was part of privilege
  7. I honestly feel bad for these guys, they have no freaking idea why they are there, and what is in store for them
  8. The AJC has reported that Georgia has crossed the 1 million vote line and is above 1.1 million as of this afternoon.
  9. Yes, but my bank won't complete the wire transfer to the hitman without my thumb print.
  10. At this time, it's what they've returned in comparison to the total output of 2020.
  11. Standard operating procedure, we laid him off and outsourced that to Singapore.
  12. Over night return update from Georgia take aways: 1. 897k votes returned 2. Women have now cast 90k more votes than men 3. 123k non voters from 2020 4. Fortress Atlanta - Dekalb Count - 10.2% of 2020 Fulton County - 11.7% of 2020
  13. I've gotten that look 3 or 4 times today alone, and I think I've had a pretty good day. I've also hardly been at home.
  14. Younger folks are going to look at Ice Cube as the goofy dad from the "Are we there yet?" movies. Sort of like how most people under 30 think of Ice T an actor on one of the bazillion cop shows we have.
  15. Yeah, not too worried (actually enthused) but don't want to do nothing but sunshine pump.
  16. There are a couple of worrying (albeit minor trends) 1. African American votes are 178k thus far, only approximately 29% of the vote. 2. Fulton County (Atlanta proper) has only 72k out of 891k from 2020 votes cast thus far - this lags the state numbers, albeit on a minor level. Dekalb County, also a Democratic stronghold is lagging the state number as well. 3. By age - 291k of cast votes are from those 65 and older. (Not fretting this, the older typically vote early)
  17. Last night's Georgia Voting Update take aways 1. 621k have now voted 2. Women have now outpaced men by 58k 3. 86k of votes cast are from non voters in 2020.
  18. It's a good question, I'm thinking a normal one weighs at least a couple of hundred pounds. Generally speaking there is some steel in them for form, reinforcement, and to have any eye-bolt. Maybe these are lighter which is fine for how they are using them (my understanding is that they are setting these at night on roads they know the Russian's are sending Ladas with ammo at high speed and no lights to avoid drone attack, thus causing high speed wrecks with them).
  19. Sort of interesting, flipped on Pluto for some late night laughs, get an Anti-Tester ad. I'm quite obviously not a Montana voter.
  20. There is also a big failure to launch problem that I've noticed. I'm not sure if it's entirely because of helicopter parenting, which someone alluded to earlier or what. In my neighborhood, there are multiple guys in the 30s that literally have never left home (they aren't all white, well one guy isn't). They don't get jobs very often, when they do, they are as dead end as possible; and of course they never last. You don't necessarily have to have a collegiate education to be successful in this country, there are plenty of guys in trades that do great. However, these guys that fail to launch (and I loathe the term) seem to have no interest in pursuing anything at all, not mechanics, not a trade, nothing. Basically, there's a just a pure loser quotient in all this.
  21. If memory serves, she lost the defamation suit and owes fees (I think due to shitty counsel, but that's just how I recall it).
