  1. He's a legit Republican, not whatever the fuck the rest of them are. He's someone I disagree with, but I do respect him for his actions. Disagreement can be healthy, so I don't hate him, or people of his ilk. Now the maga fucksticks, they can die in a fire.
  2. That's probably part of it, but if there is a political play here, I think it's the being able to show the flex of "hey, we get shit done right here." Competence sells, and they are right about that.
  3. Early update on polling lines in metro Atlanta is that the wait times are short. That doesn't mean light either, Dekalb County alone has over 100 polling stations. As much as I disagree with the Republicans running our elections, I have to give credit where it's due, this has been organized and well operated. I expect that after tonight, with quick returns, Georgia will become the model of how to run this. If you are going to be critical, you have to be fair, and they have done a good job with this. It's not entirely partisan, but Rafspenger has done a good job.
  4. From CNN live blog in Atlanta Elizabeth Gonzales wasn’t sure she’d vote this presidential election, overwhelmed by the political chaos unleashed during the 2020 race in her home state of Georgia. Yet two hours before polls opened Gonzales, an educator, was first in line to vote shortly after 5 a.m. at one of Fulton County’s 177 polling sites. “I know that my voice counts and my voice needs to be heard,” she told CNN, sporting an ‘I’m a Georgia voter’ sticker. Gonzales, in her 60s, did not want to name the candidate that earned her vote, but she said there’s one major issue that drove her to cast her ballot — women’s reproductive rights. “The way husbands are sacrificing their wives, children are sacrificing their mothers and doctors are being threatened with jail time all because women need their reproductive rights,” she said. “Women have the right to their health. It should be between the health care providers and the woman.” The issue of abortion also drove voter Asia Brownlee to the polls. She voted for Kamala Harris. Originally from the battleground state of Michigan, Brownlee told CNN she became a permanent resident in the Peach State this year to make a difference. “As an African American, and I come from a diverse background, I believe that women should have rights,” Brownlee, who is a travel nurse, said. “It’s our bodies, politicians should not be able to tell us what to do with our bodies, especially as an RN, health care is very important.” Brownlee described the process of getting registered to vote as “tedious.” She said she had to place numerous phone calls to finally resolve becoming an active voter in Fulton County on the last day of early voting, but work hours forced her to put casting her ballot off until early Election Day. “I’m able to make a difference. It’s very important. This is a crucial election,” she said on the importance of voting. 25 min ago
  5. Put me on the board, Bernie Marcus, Home Depot cofounder dead at 95.
  6. Bernie Marcus, Republican mega donor is dead. Hopefully the sumbitch didn't get to vote. In other positive news, I'm on the board in the Death Pool. Good omen my friends!
  7. Atlanta, 63 degrees with some light morning drizzle, warming to 70 and sunny. In other words, in an hour a chamber of commerce day, no excuses.
  8. Going to the gym in a bit, the shit part of that is where I live, it will be filled with Maga idiots that are also excited. The upside will be tomorrow, when they no show.
  9. Of course not, the economy spins based on you buying new, and right now financing is a bargain!
  10. No worries, with data from the Notch, a full 1/3 of R voters are on pace to crossover. It's science.
  11. 100% spot on, and as it turns out if you aggregate bullshit, it turns out, it's bullshit.
  12. And that's when the whores show up.
  13. Sezler is an outlier, she does her own thing, gets real data, and politics be damned. Shockingly enough, that simple approach with no bullshit seems to be pretty accurate. There are others trying to emulate her, but frankly they get drowned out, partly by partisan polls commissioned and paid for by both parties (though far more from Republicans, who to boot weaponize them), and then slapdicks like Silver who has monetized the polling business. So the real problem is, you only have a handful of people doing actual real work, and they are completely drowned out by an old asshole trying to make a buck. The problem with herding is, all the monetized polls figure they can't be hurt if they are in the ballpark as everyone else, so now, the actually polling data is secondary to being near the pack with everyone else. So the idea of polling aggregation is then completely fucking useless because the data is secondary. In short, it's a vicious circle jerk of stupidity. In fact the circle jerk is probably better time spent, at least at the end there is a tangible result.
  14. Hopefully everything runs smoothly here tomorrow, especially with the EV returns coming back timely at 8 est/7 central, which I believe it will. I don't think it will all hit exactly at the same time, but we should get some great early indicators. I listed this in the prediction thread a while ago, but I'm really looking at 3 counties here that I think will tell the story, not only for Georgia, but perhaps even nationally. These are 3 red counties in northern Metro Atlanta, Cherokee, Forsyth, and Hall Counties, none will flip, but they are big enough to matter while small enough to be some of the earlier ones to report. If any of these, and of course preferably all of them report slippages in R support it will mean a couple of things, the first being that Trump most likely can't win in Georgia, and the second being that just how big the drift is from Trump. I listed the prior percentages in the prediction thread, but from memory if he doesn't exceed 65% in these 3, I really like our chances here.
  15. Doubtful in Georgia. 8.3% was 2020 non voter, which basically means it will break in party lines by location tomorrow. The goldmine would be EV exit polling, but I haven't seen much of anything worthwhile from that. Also, only about 250k of mailin this go around, most all was in person ev.
  16. If you didn't already spite Skip Bayless I'm sort of at a loss.
  17. Finally, and I thank you Sir, I now have a plan for my shitass stainless steel Kitchaide Fridge!
  18. Speaking of pieces of shit that should die in a fire.
  19. So the big question now is, if the Dixville Notch results come back with a Harris win, does she call a presser and just declare victory? It'd be nice to just wrap this thing up.
  20. Well, I've heard that a lot of middle aged men make poor decisions in a vain attempt to hold on to youth. But I've only heard about that.
