The information we are getting is lagging, considerably. Most of it, in terms of the Ukrainian advances have actually been confirmed thru Russian sources. The Ukrainians have kept a pretty good lid on their end. Basically, we are getting fog of war, but I've read rumors that 2 or 3 days later are confirmed, all of which indicate that this is far more broad. The other aspect with this is that Russian bloggers and the like are reporting what make well be scouting or sabotage activity, only they aren't sure as to whether or not these activities represent the bulk of the forces or just the aforementioned groups.
It was interesting that the Ukrainian General reported today that 1000 sqkm was in their possession, when the Russian sourced info kept referencing 350 sqkm. Both sides clearly have their own interests at play, so I would guess the truth is somewhere in the middle.
3 days ago I read the Ukrainians were in Miliutino, and early to I say it confirmed. If the rumors we are hearing today are true, in a few days they are going to have Southern Kursk (the city) cut off.
