  1. Every time, never fails, I see the balance beam and I say, "what's so hard about that, holy shit that's amazing!" Great job by Sunni Lee.
  2. What I do know is this, the economic strategy of "well it doesn't work for us now, and it's not gonna work for us in the future, but fuck it, let's just keep going," doesn't seem very effective. That seems like a pretty good recipe for a strongman to get stabbed to death in the street after a while, and perhaps we are there.
  3. That's true, but it ignores the bigger issue, their socialist over-reliance on oil as the complete and total basis of their economy. I recall reading a year or two ago that their economy is completely dependent on oil prices being $110 per barrell. That obviously isn't sustainable in either the near or long terms. However, the government itself is responsible for stagnating any other economy growth or potential. Given a free market and opportunity (with a kick start of assistance) in time my bet is they could build a diversified and successful economy.
  4. That's frustrating because even thought that is true, the fellating, as you aptly put, this is a big part of the mass migration stuff, so it's certainly relevant to the US. A stable and prosperous Venezuela would actually improve these conditions, but you know fuck it, I'm sure there is breaking news on the Real Housewives of Enid, or some other bullshit.
  5. There is still virtually zero information in traditional news sources about this. CNN has the same article up from yesterday. Maybe Helob was right, get ready to start getting your news from tiktok. Appreciate the updates you guys post, maybe we should open a wire service.
  6. Given that oil is the big fish, I wonder if they'd be better off immediately suspending the use of their currency in favor of the US dollar (a la Ecuador or I thinks its El Salvador that already do this). It would allow them to trade in dollars within their own borders with a stable currency far more quickly than trying to stabilize their own.
  7. Could we convince American development groups to assist/operate, using a local work force for construction and operations?
  8. What about resorts for the beaches and a tourism draw? I know many of the cruises do Curacao, skip Venezuela, and go to Cartegena. Getting into that business in the Northern part could be a big pick up.
  9. If this goes down, the good news is that in the long term they have oil, and they should be able to build at the very least economy based upon it's export (obviously they will need to diversify beyond that). However, in the short term they will need immediate assistance to get on their feet. I'm sure the wheels are spinning in Washington at the moment for this, but I wonder if the South American countries have the ability to lend assistance or the willingness. The IMF I presume would also step in to lend assistance. Cart before the horse, though. I just hope if the western hemisphere gets this chance to help these people we don't fuck it up by politicking.
  10. Until Maduro is dead or confirmed on a flight to Moscow, this will still likely get extremely ugly.
  11. That may well be true, everything I've read is that Malian's (sorry if that's the incorrect term) slaughtered them. The Malii's took loses but nothing in comparison to what they slaughtered.
  12. Rarely is that how this plays out, unfortunately. Ordinary people have to risk it all to defeat tyranny, and the consequences are life or death.
  13. At this point, whenever I see someone like this, and we all do, I just pity them. It's the local idiot, making sure that loud and clear we all know who they are.
  14. This is barely being covered by our media, and it's shameful. We are about to see either a revolution, or a blood bath, either way, it's deserving of serious scrutiny.
  15. Let's hope that is an apt comparison.
  16. That may well have been where that quote was from, I honestly don't recall, but it was recent, and I did read about that.
  17. The best thing I've seen lately is someone call him a low-IQ conman, which is all he's ever been. I think that was said in regard to Dotard's new found love of crypto, which has to do with the fact that he ripped off his own band of idiots with his NFT crap.
  18. So New Republic has and article out claiming that Dotard and Co picked the couch fucker because Trump has been steadily losing voters in the Midwest since 2016 (specifically Pennsylvania) that are white and college educated. Vance was supposed to bring that back to the fold. There is absolutely nothing to me that indicates that sofa fornicator had any hope of attracting that demographic at all, couch fucking or not. Just weird choice all the way around.
  19. Crowdstrike did the computer update, so it couldn't figure that out, but their bags did get to Pittsburgh.
  20. Just got my first anti Kamala commercial from the MAGA PAC, they break out all the familiar tropes, San Francisco liberal, MS 13, border stuff. It only plays to one group, they don't know how to attack her otherwise.
  21. Because of the format, I think you could do something like regions and make it an event tournament, in a big city each week. Sort of a barnstorming idea. Texas for example could have a it's own region of say Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and add maybe Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Denver, KC. 8 team tournaments in each city for regular season, with qualification for a national tournament among other regions. If you could make it a big weekend in each town, especially post football season, I think there is interest for something like that. The downside is that it would be hard to build a hometown audience with that sort of schedule, but making it a big event in each city seems, at least to me, a great way to increase the sports exposure.
  22. I didn't think I'd ever watch skateboarding and judo at the same time, it's pretty cool.
