  1. There is an Alesong on 5th in downtown in the 5th Street Public Market. Think I'm going to make it one of my spots on our afternoon brewery crawl.
  2. Do you know if they allow you to bring in your own drinks into the Moshofsky Center?
  3. Fuck the Pac 12.
  4. Agreed, on CFB being a much better more interesting game then the NFL.
  5. That's not true at all. BYU has the SOS to make the CFB Playoff or a NY6 bowl game and a upper-half P5- level fanbase and national following that makes it relevant when we are winning.
  6. Oof.... thanks for catching that. Care to explain how interest won't wane if teams those fans follow are no longer involved in the greater picture context of the sport? I think its both arrogant and naive to think that they will suddenly switch allegiances with the same level of attachment and interest to those "P2" teams involved in an NFL-lite.
  7. This succinctly sums up my point in a nutshell. https://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=29157648&tab=top10 "The NFL is a better on-field product than CFB, and its not particularly close. So the casual football fan without any ties to a university tends to watch the NFL. As you remove more & more schools from the highest level of CFB the fans who follow those programs interest in their team wanes. And when fans stop caring about their own programs they aren't going to watch your programs either, which impacts your viewership significantly. So without a robust and relevant FBS, the B1G & SEC will no longer attract the viewership to warrant these huge TV deals. Andy's point about CFP access is a good one, because even as the B1G/SEC separate themselves financially, so long as there is a clear path to a national championship the other schools & fans will remain engaged despite being at a disadvantage".
  8. Not in the same numbers,.
  9. They're not as big as you think they are and no, they won't just jump ship and adopt new teams. That''s not realistic.
  10. Those numbers aren't accurate, they are likely based on tv ratings, which isn't a true indicator of fanbase given that many CFB fans watch other games besides those involving their own teams. Trust me, CFB viewership will go down as those fans of teams being excluded will no longer have the same level of interest they once had. They're not going to switch allegiances and maintain the same viewership numbers since those fans will simply tune out.
  11. This would be WAY different then the FCS/FBS and SWC splits Fans of those teams (a huge portion of the CFB fanbase) aren't just going to switch allegiances and start cheering for teams in the B1G or SEC, they're just going tune out. It will take a nose dive without those fanbases and with it becoming an NFL lite.
  12. You think interest in CFB wouldn't decline if those non-Big 10 and SEC schools are left out? This would be the final nail in the coffin for the sport.
  13. Would have been nice had his generosity started a trend.
  14. College Football can really use a commissioner and centralized leadership over CFB as a whole.
  15. What is Bend like? What spots on the coast?

  18. Bummer. Did you get a chance to visit any of the breweries?
  19. I will be going to Eugene, Oregon in mid-September for the BYU @ Oregon game and plan to visit some of the cool parts of town. Eugene has about 16 interesting craft beer breweries and I plan to spend the day before the game visiting a few of them as well as some of the sites and places of Eugene and around UO campus. Does anybody here have any recommendations? I'll post a review of each of the places I visit along with some pics. I might even throw in some pics of the UO "wildlife" (aka coeds and cheerleaders) for good measure.
  20. More like REO Speedwagon
  21. No, but he'll roll with it...
  22. This thread has made my OCD 10x worse, have to avoid alot of different shit now.
  23. They can have all the lawyers in the world and it wouldn't matter, as long as the Big XII abides by the terms of the contract. How is UT/OU being taken for a ride by not being released early from their contract/GOR? What incentive does the XII have in releasing OU/UT early from their binding agreements? Not trying to be a dick or anything.
  24. No, all I'm saying is that they agreed to the terms in the contract(s) so they are legally bound to what they agreed to and according to the terms of the contract there is no way the Big XII could legally force OU and UT to play only road games. As long as the conference keeps its end of the contract, they aren't skating on thin ice.
