  1. Its a secret strategy to cover his face so the Mavs can sneak Steph in the lineup
  2. Does the league care that much about a Western conference final?
  3. Let's see this unlock another level from Luka.
  4. Both techs on KP were bullshit
  5. Good for KP stepping in. Dont be soft. Fuck, forgot it was his 2nd
  6. Mods someone hacked @Kermit's account
  7. Wow, way to turn it around. MKG off the bench with 6pts and good defense was helpful
  8. Staff development started on Monday. Today was the first time I started to hear several co-workers say they are lacking confidence in learning the new online system and implementing it by next week first day of school. An email was sent around saying we should tell the school board to delay a little bit.
  9. I hope this game earns JJ a few minutes in the playoffs. In the 4th qtr he is 7-13 for 18pts and 8 assists. Just give him a little burn when things need a quick spark.
  10. OMG! Luka and the off hand between the legs assist to Maxi was awesome
  11. I haven't been loving the starting lineup of DFS at 4 and KP at 5. I would prefer it to be Luka, THJ/Curry (based on matchips or hot hand), DFS, KP, Maxi. The next part is from an article that echoes what @Drew mentioned earlier. The rub for the Mavericks is that while these other title contenders might have more talent one through five, the Mavericks boast broader talent 1 through 10 (with that top two still being pretty damn spicy). When Dallas is at full strength, there’s no questioning the depth they have in terms of rolling out players that can be productive for them. Here’s where I insert a giant “BUT” in neon blinking letters: in the playoffs and in big, must-win games, having 10 guys isn’t really that big of an advantage. Rotations shrink and minutes increase for your core. You aren’t playing nine to 10 players a game during a playoff series. Also, how much does having 10 quality guys matter when you can only play five of them in the last five minutes of a close game? The Mavericks depth is great for keeping up regular season success — it keeps guys fresh and it helps paper over larger weaknesses just by sheer attrition. Eventually though, talent wins. We might get an unfortunate example of this when the Mavericks face the Clippers in the playoffs.
  12. Moderna has jumped up after their vaccine study results announcement
  13. We're going to win the championship. It will be one of the few good things of 2020.
  14. I have been wondering how they are going to have enough busses and drivers to transport students at low capacity. There is almost always a shortage of drivers and often busses too.
  15. Round Rock sent out the employee survey. Your options were 1. Will be returning to campus 2. I am requesting a medical accommodation because of medically diagnosis that puts me at high risk. 3. I am requesting leave under FFCRA 4. I am requesting leave under FMLA 5. I am resigning
  16. ^^^ Sounds like we have the next Law & Order spin-off show.
  17. Round Rock said they got about 25k parent surveys returned. It was close to a 50/50 split on would send kids to school or do virtual. Google classroom wont be the main platform now. Schoology will be the new thing.
  18. Then that's not a real union recognized by any labor relations board. There are no real teachers unions here. Correct. They do not negotiate wages/benefits. They are just professional associations really. Your dues get you legal coverage and lobbyists for education issues with the state.
  19. I'll speak to this as a parent of two (6, 9), and as a teacher/coach. As a parent, I hated the online learning. I put most of the blame on the district. I'll give them a pass early on because we were all trying to implement things on the fly. But as it became clear we would be finishing the school year virtually, things did not improve. The content created for the Google classroom often did not work correctly or was to complex for most elementary students to be able to complete without lots of assistance. Zoom/google meetings were simply social happy hours. It was frustrating when a teacher would attempt to create an organized activity and some kids would unmute and just speak over the teacher and other students. My kids hated it. It got to the point I just created our own lessons and experiments and the kids loved that. As a teacher (PE), virtual learning was a joke as well. The district just provided us a slide deck of workouts to give the students. We couldn't create our own material nor teach a live lesson. Additionally, because of my content, the districts grading policy, and the frustrations I was experiencing from my own children, I put forth little effort. I simply posted the workouts, said contact me if you have questions, and held a weekly Zoom meeting (usually attended by less than 10 students). I think things could have gone better had we been given more flexibility to create our own lessons and had live instruction. It was 5 weeks in before we were even allowed to have a zoom social with students. Moving forward, this is going to be a shit show once again. It seems district officials are doing lots of surveys to get a ballpark idea on how many students will be in school vs online. The logistics of this all is a nightmare and the state has been pretty much hands off. As a coach, I have no clue if we will have sports or not. Speed and strength camps this summer have been a huge headache. I believe I saw Mesquite ISD is saying students who do online learning will not be able to participate in extra curricular activities. That will have a huge impact. My wife is a school administrator. As of right now we lean to not sending our kids back to campus to start. We have no idea how we will manage that and work (not a unique problem to us or our profession).
