  1. When I busted out that muffaletta last week, I thought I fucked up the bread so I made a second loaf. So... what are you going to do? Muffalletta 2, Olive Salad Boogaloo:
  2. The play he makes (or more accurately, doesn't make) at the 10:48 mark is even worse. And yeah.... look where he goes flying in. Brutal.
  3. I actually agree with Bizzle on this. Their oline looked more cohesive than it has in the last couple of years. Maybe Weigman didn't know how to react when he wasn't running for his life?
  4. I understand the rationale, but Texas laying 7 or 7.5 on the road to the defending national champs who are 40-3 in their last 43 games seems crazy. I also get the Alabama parallels from last year, but it takes a different of a mentality to go in as the favorite instead of going in as the underdog. I don't care how many players they had to replace or how many coaches have moved on, anybody expecting anything but a dogfight is either a massive homer or hasn't been following college football for very long. I also just checked the prediction thread and Helobious picked Texas to win 31-7. We are proper fucked.

Why the announcers gotta bring up old shit?

BC should have beaten their asses last year when FSU was actually good. Nobody should be surprised by this. They have to pull DJU. The natives are way past restless.
  7. LSU starting to get the ground game going. Imposing their will. This is a pretty good team if they can play decent defense, which they are doing tonight. Nussmeyer is legit.
  8. When they outlaw dangling mouthguards only outlaws will have dangling mouthguards.
  9. Michigan was not impressive, in an almost alarming way last night. As in, are these dudes playing possum or are they really what they look like? I’m more concerned about overconfidence than anything. They barely outgained Fresno. Fresno was driving to make it a one score game late before a bad pick six on a screen pass. Their qbs, outside of a few Orji runs where he got loose, were not good. Beyond that, I didn’t think their offensive line was very physical. They punished teams on the ground last year. Remember what they did to Penn State? They didn’t even pretend to pass against them and ran it like 30 times in a row. Last night they ran it 34 times for 148 yards. That isn’t going to frighten anyone. Their defense is talented and the dts are a problem. Fresno couldn’t do dick running the ball and became one dimensional. If the Texas oline can keep them in check, keep Ewers clean and keep them honest in the run game, then I like our chances notwithstanding excessive turnovers or special teams miscues. Michigan is going to have to turn the game into a rock fight to win.
  10. Remember when Clemson used to have seemingly endless dynamic playmakers at WR and RB? Yeah, those days are long gone.
  11. 6 turnovers and they’ve only out gained Temple by 100 yards. I think their defense is solid but that offense? Woof.
  12. 0/10 third down. That line is a mess. Jackson Arnold is not making it through this season healthy. Zero chance.
  13. Lot of ins and outs to this Curry/KAT contract comparison. My unwanted thoughts: 1. Curry was grossly underpaid for a good portion of his career. He signed an extension coming off injury at well below market value, which in no small part allowed them to sign Durant and everyone else for the meat of their run. I'm pretty sure he was getting about half of what Durant was making when KD signed with them. He's owed back pay. 2. The Warriors are not going to be competing for championships in the foreseeable future and are likely to not even make the playoffs. They have the most expensive building in the league and he is the most important person in the history of that franchise. Even with a crap team, they still have seats to fill and people will come out just to see him, even if he's washed and they're losing. We saw it with the Lakers and Kobe. He's worth it to them, just to put butts in the seats. Conversely, they can't have him show up in a Lakers uniform goofing around with Lebron and have a nice tribute video to say "thanks for everything". They just can't let that happen under any circumstances. 3. KAT seems like a nice enough guy and is no doubt talented, but on the basketball court he's a brain dead, mangy, flea-ridden dog. His contract is enough of an albatross, but it's the combination of it with the Gobert contract that makes it untenable for the maintenance of the rest of the roster. The Twolves got so much mileage out of that Denver series, it's not even funny. I still can't explain the game 7 second half Nugget collapse. But if not for that, we're having a completely different conversation. One where they blow a 2-0 lead going home for games 3 and 4, and losing by 45 in their own building to close it out in game 6. I still chalk up that entire series as a fluke. And for them to get pasted in 5 by the very flawed Mavericks just lends more credence to the idea. As great as Edwards is, I still refuse to believe you can win a championship with Gobert and KAT playing major minutes for your team until I see it with my own eyes.
  14. It's so annoying that we are going to have to put up with the hype for at least another week. Hopefully Nebraska takes them down next week and CSU does the week after and all this will go away.
  15. So what's the rest of this class look like? Terry, another DT or two, and maybe a couple of DBs?
  16. lol. Fantastic interception. God I’ve missed college football.
  17. Western Carolina looks better than NC State so far. Up 14-7 at end of 1st.
  18. Walker isn't even on a real contract. He's on an exhibit 10 deal, which is essentially a training camp invite. I'm not the world's biggest LWIV fan, but it's bizarre that he didn't even get a NBA minimum deal. He's 25, athletic as hell, and shot 38% from three last year on decent volume playing 17 minutes per game. And he's a good dude, allegedly. Granted, he has the basketball IQ of a tree stump, but this is a head scratcher for me. I can't imagine why Brooklyn didn't re-sign him for the minimum. He would be a prototypical tank commander for them this season - some exciting highlights mixed in with overall losing basketball. Odd.
  19. I love it. That rollercoaster isn't going to clickety clack it's way to the top all by itself.
