FINAL 2024 CFB polls/rankings - Texas #3/ #4 /#3 (CFP/AP/Coaches)
It's not exactly apples to apples. Would anybody be really surprised to see a #13 Bama beat any of the other teams in the field? They would be favored against most of them on a neutral field.

Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
I'm not even sure what point Linux is trying to make. Are you trying to understand why the 2023 Aggie class fell apart? It's been answered, but here you go: 1. Character risks. 2. Bad culture exacerbated point 1. 3. Poor coaching / development made players realize that they were costing themselves their NFL futures and $$$ by staying at A&M. 4. Real NIL happened. The dollars A&M were throwing around in the bag game got dwarfed by the legitimate NIL dollars from competitors. When you hire mercenaries, you shouldn't be surprised when they portal to go play for the highest bidder, especially when everything else is crap: culture, winning, development, living in College fucking Station, etc. A&M also had to fund their next class and everybody started comparing paystubs. 5. They're aggies. They aggie everything up, eventually.

San Antonio Spurs 2024-25 - Taking it in the pooper for Cooper
Since I posted this, Wemby is hitting 43% from three on crazy volume. These numbers are not normal on any level.

San Antonio Spurs 2024-25 - Taking it in the pooper for Cooper
Spurs would have lost that game last year. They’re 5-3 in crunch time games this year. They were 13-28 last year. Sochan supposed to be back Tuesday against Phoenix. If they beat the suns, they win their cup group. I’m actually a little into it. This will be the first game in a long ass time that they’ve played for anything but ping pong balls.

Wemby pretty ridiculous right now. His learning how to force the switch when setting the pick is opening up so sorts of things.

San Antonio Spurs 2024-25 - Taking it in the pooper for Cooper
This is turning into a good one. Spurs are 20/40 from three. Wemby one assist away from a triple double.

SMU getting in over Bama would be something. I just can’t even imagine it.

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
The pick six was a decision that you don’t expect a qb with as much experience as he has to make. And he had no business running with the ball like that and not tucking it, slide or no slide. But holy shit did he throw some bbs out there too. The shot to Golden, a couple to Helm, another one to Wingo. But beyond that, he just never seems phased. Walking into that hornet’s nest of screaming morons in a game that big and he took care of business. He doesn’t let the negative plays carry over. He’s a good qb and we’re fortunate to have him.

It’s gotta be extra rough to lose this game for them after hypothetically beating us every year since 2011.

ESPN GAME DAY
I can’t imagine what they had to do to make all those aggies wear orange Home Depot gear. The A&M athletic department wouldn’t even let whataburger throw out promotional orange basketballs to the crowd at their basketball games. And basketballs are, you know, orange.

Did Brooklyn not get the memo that they traded a whole bunch of shit this offseason just so they could tank? They beat the Suns with all of their guys playing in Phoenix tonight after beating Golden State on the road the other night, and are now only two games under .500.

I guess you can't play Utah every night but beyond that, they didn't play with much juice. A little disappointing considering that Lakers played last night, too.

NBA 2024-25 Season Thread
Because KAT is such a great outside shooter, it sort of made sense on a basketball court. It's not like he's your prototypical back to the basket, throw it into the post, get me a bucket traditional big. But let's look at the tale of the tape for what they gave up, and what they got back altogether: IN: Gobert, Divencenzo, Julius Randle, and a heavily protected (the best it could ever be is #10) first round pick via the Pistons that may not ever convey. OUT: Towns, Walker Kessler, Pat Bev, Malik Beasley, Jared Vanderbilt, Keyonte George (via pick), 2025 unprotected first, 2026 swap, 2027 unprotected first, and 2029 top 5 protected first. They managed to give up the best player by far AND a giant chunk of their future. If that weren't bad enough, they also have a 32 year old Rudy Gobert (who seems to be declining so far this season) on the books for the next three years at ~$36.5 million per. Woof. They've done such a good job building their roster with unheralded guys like Reid, NAW, and McDaniels that it hasn't killed them yet. But holy shit if Anthony Edwards ever gets hurt or decides he doesn't want to live in Minnesota.

Gobert opted out and extended, so they got out of their cap hell for now. But they still should have never traded for him in the first place. Forget the assets they sent out, they essentially had to choose between him and Towns to avoid the second apron penalties.
