Generous? Try ridiculous? We lost to an average OU team this season, got a favorable call from the refs that sealed a win against a Houston team that had no business being on the same field as us, squeaked by K-State when they made a bone head decision to go for two, and held on for dear life against a moribund TCU.
I'm not one of those SEC honks, but the schedule (especially when you add a roadie against Michigan and two true rival jihad games on the road) is going to be more difficult. We are losing all of our best skill position threats on offense, and our DT's that controlled the run game against every team we faced. I love what's coming back on the oline and QB, but there are a lot of unknowns.
The expanded playoffs change everything though. That, to me, is the only goal of the regular season -- get to the tournament. There's a chance that Texas could lose 3 and still make the playoffs but I don't care how they get there, as long as they get there.
