This thread is a beating and everybody keeps regurgitating the same tired shit. Head to head, strength of schedule, SEC, Pac 10, backup QB, Bo Nix completion percentage, common opponent, and blah blah blah. Except there is one angle that is getting completely overlooked: the aggie misery factor.
I was in Vegas at the sportsbook during the Bama/Texas game and there was a group of aggies in the box next to us. All day long I watched them out of the corner of my eye. I saw them go completely apoplectic watching their team shit themselves against Miami. I was fairly apprehensive about our game going in, but I took one look at that those poor bastards and knew they were in for as much misery as possible that day. Well, there was that and the gummy was really starting to kick in, so I went up and put $200 on Texas on the moneyline. The ags next to us were dying during the game. The fourth quarter pretty much happened in slow motion and I could barely walk to the cage to cash my ticket, but I distinctly remember about five of them in perpetual surrender cobra repose as Texas ran out the clock. It was, in the words of that fat fuck Bert Bielema, "borderline erotic."
So everybody needs to get a grip. Realistically looking at this fucked up dog and pony show that we call a selection committee, we're going to get fucked if given half a chance. The chalk in college football has been killing it like no time in recent history. It's likely going to hold up and we're going to end up in some bullshit meaningless bowl. That's the reality. But to maximize aggie misery, which I believe is an unalienable right based on the state of Texas constitution and a bunch of jokes that I heard in elementary school, I have to believe we're making the playoff. So fuck all the different scenarios and the wishcasting... somehow, someway we're making the playoffs. And the screenshots from Texags will flow like blood in the streets.
