I respect Harbaugh's troll game enough to believe that, after he's simultaneously elevated the Chargers to their greatest heights since 1994 and alienated ownership to the point that they want him out, that he'll be ready for one more run in the NCAA, likely 5 years from now. He's a cheating shit head, but he's at least entertaining as a villain.

In the ncaa report, it was noted that Harbaugh ate a bacon cheeseburger for breakfast. At that rate, dude will be lucky to be ambulatory in five years.

He will win them just enough games to perhaps take them out of the best Flagg odds

Utah is in a weird spot. They need a superstar. At this point they may be better off trading some of their draft capital and young players to get one. The treadmill is an awful place to be in the nba. Markkanen waiting to sign his contract so that they can’t trade him before next summer really limits their flexibility. Barring him getting “injured”, they can’t pick a lane for at least another season.

  3. I keep seeing shit about this being maybe the most talented Ohio State team ever, and it’s like they just ignore that Will Howard is their trigger man. He wasn’t even the best qb on his own middling team last year.

And let’s honest about Chip Kelly - he hasn’t been considered innovative in a decade. The defense is going to outstanding and I suppose the schedule is dogshit so it would be stunning to see them out of the playoff, but I just don’t buy them overall.

Further, neither conference has an argument for a bubble playoff team over a high quality alternative from the Big 12 or Big 10 getting in instead. Fucking joke.

I agree with your general premise, but let's not let give the Big 12 a pass here on scheduling. Every Big 12 team lost games against OU, Texas, USC, Washington, Oregon or UCLA and replaced them with games against the other leftovers and dogshit non-conference games. The only Big 12 nonconference games that even sniff the top tier of college football are Houston v. OU, Penn State v. West Virginia, Pitt v. West Virginia, Florida v. UCF, Iowa v. Iowa State, and Colorado v. Nebraska, Arkansas v. Okie State. And defining most of those as "top tier" is a stretch.

I agree with you about the SEC and ACC 8 game schedule being bullshit, but it's going to be really interesting to see how this shakes out when the playoff teams are decided.

Salaun looked pretty damn good in summer league.

I didn't watch him closely, but Hollinger/Duncan thought he looked terrible per their latest podcast

I will be completely stunned if Salaun amounts to anything in the NBA. I never understood the hype with him to begin with, and almost shit myself when Charlotte took him 6th. Low IQ, shaky jumper and very, very stiff. He's got a big motor, but that's it. Sarr at least is athletic and you know can be a rim protector, but Salaun has no discernable basketball talent whatsoever.

With regard to the future of USA basketball... I'm not concerned. There will always be a steady stream of talent to stock the roster. It's going to be a long ass time before another country is able to go 12 deep with difference-making NBA talent.

Current US born NBA players under 25 who are better than 90% of international players and not on this year's Olympic team: Banchero, Holmgren, Garland, JJJ, Cade Cunningham, Ja Morant, Scottie Barnes, Zion, Jalen Williams, Maxey,

  7. Put me in the camp who believes Embiid is a better offensive player than AD. Notwithstanding his disgusting flopping foul baiting bullshit, he's a remarkably skilled big man with fantastic footwork who plays with incredible fluidity, touch and range for a guy his size. I don't see the same skillset with AD, who arguably is a more impactful overall player.

  8. I'm much less surprised that some mentally ill person downtown tried to stab BO&W than cajun up here casually ordering cho and egg puffy tacos. WTF? Breakfast puffy tacos? I've never heard of such a thing. It's always, "Chicken or beef, de puff?"  It's genius and I'm sure it's delicious, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

  9. The truth about Inside the NBA is that it's good almost entirely because of Barkley, and to a lesser extent Ernie playing the straight man. Shaq brings nothing to the table. Kenny brings nothing to the table. And they could find somebody else to do Ernie's job or at least approximate it. But the entire show is great because Charles is great.

The other truth is that it if the other studio shows were even remotely compelling, Inside the NBA wouldn't look so good by comparison. The shit that ESPN puts out is fucking horrible unwatchable. They have never even come close to getting the formula correct. Kendrick Perkins and Stephen A are so, so bad. So I guess now Amazon, NBC and ESPN will all have separate studio shows? Maybe one of them will get it right. The old NBC studio show with Costas and Hannah Storm was good. They were never as entertaining or funny as the TNT group, but they put a good product out there that built up the game they were broadcasting. Maybe it was a little different back then because there were limited avenues to consume the league on TV, but they made the games feel bigger.

So, I ran into Wemby at a hotel in OKC yesterday.  I have zero idea what he was doing there but if he were there, it'd be at that hotel.  It's the one all the visiting teams stay at.  They build special rooms for really tall people.

I stood within feet of him in the lobby.  He's the most remarkable human I've ever seen in person.  I stared at him.  Not that he noticed because my head came up to his mid chest.  (I'm 6 feet tall.)  His arms came down to my waist.  The remarkable part is he looks proportionate but he's 7'5".  I've heard people say that but now I know what they mean.

Has anyone else here ever stood close to him?

Wait a minute... the Paris Olympics (where he is the host country's most visible star) begin in 2 days and he has a game in 3 days. He played in a tune up match against Australia 3 days ago in France. So in the middle of that, he decides to take a quick trip to.... Oklahoma Fucking City?

Not to go Katfid on you, but are you certain that you saw Victor Wembanyama?
