  1. Yo Double H, I prefer to refer to him as, "The Tuzz".
  2. All flips are not created equal in my eyes. Flips when coaching changes happen or a team goes into the shitter are a little bit different than recruits flipping because they are divas. Ewers flipping to Ohio State when he saw that Tom Herman wasn't going to make it or Banks flipping when Christobel moved on or whatever the hell is going on at Florida State right now... those are business decisions.
  3. To all those portal issues with QB shopping, add: 6) Who in their right mind is going to want to play in that system? Disregarding the money for a minute, it's one thing for Jalen Hurts or Kyler Murray to come play in Lincoln Riley's video game heisman trophy offense. It's quite another to sign up for the Seth Littrell experience behind an iffy (and I'm being generous here) offensive line. Who is going to invest their NFL future in that? Their best bet for immediate success is to hire a new coordinator who has a transfer QB attached to him, like Lebby and Gabriel. I don't think time is necessarily on Venables side here, despite the contract extension. He went 6-7 in year 1 with the worst OU loss ever in the RRS. Last year he got fat at 10-3 on a shitastic schedule. They are only going to be favored against Auburn and Maine, and maybe South Carolina the rest of the way. So that puts them at 6 wins plus a bowl game? That ain't gonna cut it at a place that won 14 conference titles between 2000 - 2020. I can't see him having longer than next year to figure it out, and the schedule is going to be just as brutal.
  4. A couple of years? I intend to drag my tiny balls across your face for a full decade. Venables is the new Gibbs. You need to go through your Schnellenberger and Blake before you land on another great coach.
  5. Woj body not even cold yet and Adam Schefter is dropping NBA contract news.
  6. Of all the unintended consequences of NIL, the concept of overpaying for busts out of high school and what it does to roster management was one I never saw coming. Yesterday I listened to one of the sooner post game pods posted upthread. I think the one with Thune? In any event, they came to the conclusion that Arnold’s struggles were due to the OU defense being so good that practicing against them destroyed his confidence. Seriously. Iron sharpens shit, I guess. It’s some next level fart huffing and I can’t imagine the gymnastics it takes to get there. The guy is a rs freshman in his fifth game playing in a mediocre system with a bad line and few playmakers. He’s been pretty bad but they aren’t helping him out at all.
  7. Yeah, this genre ain’t my thing. My wife picked it. I had no idea what it was about. Saw no trailers, nada. All I knew about it was Andie Mcdowell’s daughter was in it, and well… that was good enough for me.
  8. You guys are seriously underestimating the week to week SEC grind. Playing Moo State is the football equivalent of the Bataan Death March. Get your narratives straight. We sposed to be SEC now.
  9. I fucking hated this movie. I couldn’t wait for it to end. Grotesque and over the top don’t begin to describe it. But yes, Margaret Qualley is ridiculously hot.
  10. Good pieces? Where? Certainly not on offense. Atrocious line, a dearth of game breakers at rb or wr, and they don’t even have their typical versatile H or TE that they move around. Tennessee got up two scores and the game was over. That offense isn’t getting fixed anytime soon.
  11. Maybe they can put in Dillon Gabriel?
  12. He didn’t even make it to halftime of this game.
  13. Correct. I started watching Penguin last night and thought, "Man, I ought to rewatch the Batman before this, since it's been awhile." In fact, I'll probably go back and watch it before episode #2 as a refresher. The Batman was excellent, btw. It's essentially a noir detective movie dropped into a superhero movie. They really continued the vibe with the Penguin, and I'm definitely digging it. Re: Farrell, it's almost disconcerting to watch because I keep looking for him, and he ain't there.
  14. Son is freshman in college living in the dorms. Mom wanted to send him a care package. Very nice of her, right? He told her to just send him some protein bars so she Amazon'd some to him. He just sent me this picture with the only comment: "Dude." Poor kid had to walk to the mail center in the student union (~20 minutes) to pick this shit up and haul it back. Thanks, mom!
  15. I mean, it probably beats digging a ditch, but overall yeah. Other than being constantly attached to your phone 24/7/365 and having to be the first one to report when a bench player signs a veteran minimum deal with the urgency of a nuclear attack, the sucking up to the agents has to be the worst. The trade off between access / information and your integrity as a "journalist" has got to make your skin crawl.
  16. @texifornia You seem to have overlooked the Fox Big Noon kickoff game. Ya know... the biggest game in college football each week: Marshall @ Ohio State. Really, Fox? That's the best you can do even after realignment? I don't know how the Fox/CBS/NBC contract with the Big 10 works exactly, but you can't trot that shit out there and then try to brand yourself as any sort of destination appointment TV.
  17. Bowling Green beat Georgia Tech last year. They were only down 14-6 at the half against Michigan in Ann Arbor last year. They gave Penn State all they wanted in week 1 this season. They have a 24 year old QB who started at Mizzou and Indiana before transferring there last year. They are very, very experienced overall -- almost every starter on both sides of the ball is a SR (lots of redshirt SRs) or redshirt JR. They may not be particularly talented, but there is something to be said about the physical development and experience of 22-24 year olds who will not be intimidated by the crowd. A&M should beat their ass, but 23.5 seems like a lot of points.
