  1. somewhat of a wasted play by Cowboys. 2 downs left for Wyoming.
  2. Tech kickers officially off the hook now.
  3. 1st down! wow! Tech seems destined to throw an INT.
  4. Aaron Taylor I believe. and evidently Wyoming's 2nd string QB is pretty good.
  5. This could be the best final round for a pairing this century....maybe ever? Are we looking at 62 and 63?
  6. Can't get much more out there than a rural village in Northwest Alaska, above the Arctic circle.
  7. F this Anchorage Alaska station showing every 8 minutes or so some flood watch. Hey idiots, it's Alaska, we have weather! On the flip side, I learned a new word, areal. Never heard it before today.
  8. I think Victor just won the tourney with that par putt.
  9. That is a hard no on delivery to Alaska from Texas. Prices would be out-of-this world. I am only taking frozen food from Texas because it is my luggage. I will arrive in Anchorage at about 3:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11 and pay $20 per tote per 24 hour period at a company in the Anchorage airport that has a -30 degree freezer. From there I will travel to Kotzebue and then the final destination - Selawik.
  10. Kroger's weekly ad kicks everybody's ass. I am spending the next 9 days helping my parents in Round Rock and will travel to Alaska with about 96 pounds of frozen food, mostly beef, chicken, sausage. The nearest Kroger's is in Bryan, and their weekly ad that starts tomorrow has two gems, USDA choice chuck roast at $3.97 per pound and chicken thighs at 99 cents per pound. Anybody have any experience trying to get Kroger delivery with weekly ad prices from the nearest Kroger's? I called Kroger's cust. number and the lady's English was rough enough that I don't necessarily believe her, but she said I could get Bryan weekly ad prices delivered.
  11. agree with this. The wife's apartment is a four minute drive from HEB, but the last couple of days I have been putting on the backpack, hiking to HEB and coming back with a small amount of groceries. The smell of HEB in the morning is out-of-this-world. The bakery is strategically located as you enter the building. ooh, ahhh, impressive.
  12. check it out, no pics, but their blouses and pants fit very well, not too tight just right.
  13. As I sat there waiting for my order I was struck with how hot all of the waitresses were.
  14. ha! Those were my sister-in-law's choices..not mine. In fact those were both brought to me...two sisters picking places.
  15. So, both Doocy and Hansen came from Iowa?
  16. I watched Norm's retirement announcement on YouTube today, and I must say Norm looked old enough to be concerned about having to be carried out, which he correctly spoke about, noting he didn't want to be carried out. Imo, he just made it by the skin of his teeth. I am really glad for him that he finally made the decision, but that bit about doing podcasts and traveling etc. hmmm? He is already traveling quite a bit, and I don't see a podcast in his future. Imo, there is no way he is coming back for future NFL drafts, etc. 78? Wow! I cannot imagine working a full time job at 78. Of course some people might say Norm has been part-time for a while already.
  17. Thanks, so by the time I was commuting in 1999 from McKinney to Richardson Norm was working mornings with Leon. Norm always had just a 2 hour show at the ticket, it seems. I read one article where Norm thinks he is coming back for special events such as the NFL draft, fake Kentucky Derby etc. Imo not a chance in hell, but what do I know. Great opportunity for Donny. I would think the Ticket has been planning for this for a very very long time.
  18. I outlasted Norm? Wow! I moved my family to McKinney in 1999 from Corpus Christi, and Norm was still with the other station, paired up with a man, Leon? Can't remember. Seems like Norm moved to the Ticket soon after. Norm was the cherry on top of the sundae at the time, it seemed. Btw, McKinney was about 34,000 people then and now I am guessing well over 200,000 now. Ticket was about 5 years old then? I moved to Alaska about six months after this thread was started. Now visiting the wife in SA, so no listening to Norm's last words, but will hear on YouTube I suppose. The other surprising thing to me is that Greggo is still alive. I heard the Freak on YouTube..his show. 105 beers in one weekend and he was .41 at the hospital. Should have died. Not too surprising Rhyner couldn't stay away. I agree with whomever said Mike will be gone by Christmas. How long was Rhyner away? He retired in December 2019? Just before COVID I think.
  19. Is this thing over? Kinda feels that way at the moment.
  20. Alaska resident here. I'm always checking out their website and hearing weird stuff on the flights from Alaska to Texas. Weird story coming. I heard the usual sales pitch about the Alaska Airlines Visa in April with the extra pitch that if you haven't applied for a credit card in the last two years you can get another one. But I needed to time the acceptance just right so I could purchase the required $3000 in 90 days. I will buy 6 months of groceries before I arrive at my remote village on August 11th. I got on the plane end of May to travel and of the 3 flights from Kotzebue to DFW, on the first two the flight attendants did not give the sales pitch, but the ad was in front of me, 62,000 miles with the acceptance and spending the $3k of course. You have to fill out the form while the plane is in the air. So, I fight the turbulence, filling out the application as we descend into DFW, day before Memorial Day, double check, I answered every question, turn in app. to FA. Then silence. I call a few times to B of A. They don't give in. I have to wait 30 days. The other day I got a call. The sales lady said she could read my app. but the computer could not. She needed to verify I am an American citizen. Cue the joke about Alaska not being part of the United States. She claimed that little gem was the reason my acceptance was held up, I asked for an expedited card sent to the address in San Antonio, which is neither my mailing address or physical address, she said sure, took down my info. Card did not arrive, so I called again starting yesterday. Turned out first saleslady was incompetent. No way, card was sent to Alaska. Grrr, so I was told to call again but was not authenticated. I tried again this morning, still no authentication possible, instructed to go to a B of A branch with my ID. Authentication yes! Card will be sent, but of course no mail Monday, holiday. Card will arrive Thursday or Friday, by 06/23, hopefully. In the meantime, Alaska airlines is increasing the luggage fee for bag #3,4 etc. from $100 to $150. But if I purchase tickets. before June 30, I can get the $100 bag fee. Bags 1 and 2 are free. I am going to use the new card to purchase flights in December and February for flights from Alaska to Texas where I might need the 3rd and 4th bag. The flights back to Alaska can wait a little, because I will hit $3000 and might be able to exhaust the new 62000 miles plus my wife is donating her miles to me as well. Hard to believe in this digital age, but it really is taking almost 30 days to get a credit card.
  21. Need an update. Are there any decent places to eat around here? Spending the remainder of the summer in SA. My sister-in-law who has lived here forever is 0 for 2 picking take-out places and I am 1 for 1. I walked down the hill and took a chance on Taqueira Datapoint and wow! I waited so long I thought they might be actually making the food fresh and the enchiladas were very tasty. Sister in law picked Bill Miller - brisket? yuck...but tea still good, and some place with a Bear in its name..pretty bad. You guys know that old saying "Good enough to make you want to slap your mama"? Well so far this experience is making me come up with another expression, "bad enough to make me wish I had started a restaurant after working 8.5 years at Luby's Cafeteria in Mgmt". Btw, Luby's was where I heard that expression, in 1992. Mr. Wayne Shirley might be close to dead by now, but he was one hell of a training director back in the day. Slick too. He could sell.
  22. ..and Kim is falling apart, may shoot a 66....poor guy.
  23. OMG!!!! He made it?????? He is coming back next year!!! Wow!!!!
  24. I don't see anyway possible Block can get up and down from here.
