  1. I retired earlier this year, joined a running club in SA. I am way, way out of shape. Got two things against me, overweight and old. In August I could not run a half mile without stopping. After training with the running club, San Antonio Road Runners, we are getting close to the December 5th SATX 5k. It will be run at night. This morning ran a "preview run". total misnomer imo, as it was only a preview for the half-marathon folks. We ran during the daylight for a change, and it was below 70 degrees. I improved significantly...ran the entire course without stopping, and completed in 42 minutes for a pace of about 13:40 per mile. Goal is now to finish the December 5th 5k in 43 minutes or less. Already paid for the winter training(January through March) and the goal for the end of season run on April 19th will be somewhere in the 38 to 40 minute area. I don't feel a runner's high like I used to, but I am feeling a lot better especially after doing something like I did today.
  2. the only that will surprise me is winning by more than 3 points. I think this might be one of those 4 overtime games.
  3. Thanks a bunch!
  4. dang, I can't find the post about the restaurant in Austin that will smoke a brisket for you for $1 per pound. I thought it was from this thread, looked back a year and a half. Can somebody help with this? thx
  5. recommendation for best Korean BBQ, AYCE?
  6. On second thought, why not Ole Miss? Lane Kiffin drama would drive Georgia and Alabama people nuts, and have they ever won a NC before?
  7. so, I looked at the box score. Barkley evidently needed more yards to get the over. I saw that the U/O was 72.5. He finished with 83 yards. Just watching the highlights, Barkley gained 8 yards after the penalty on a 3rd and 8 with 57 seconds left on the clock. Not 100% rigged, but pretty close to evidence Barkley needed a bit more yards to get the over.
  8. This makes me think of the famous Benny Barnes(Dallas Cowboys) fake call that helped the Steelers in the Super Bowl one of those times. Literally nothing there. Both calls were for the team leading at the time. Neither team needed the help. Eagles were winning last night. Steelers were going to beat the Cowboys. Glad Collinsworth did not hesitate to call it out. Ref should be suspended for x number of games without pay.
  9. root for anybody who plays OU, Alabama, Georgia, etc. And probably Indiana.
  10. KC is gonna have to come in the back door if they want to be in playoffs.
  11. Bo about to beat the refs AND Mahomes.
  12. Denver needs another int.
  13. Chiefs hold more than Sooners. and the refs give it back to the chiefs. actually a good call, though.
  14. it is truly amazing they keep giving the calls.
  15. just watched highlights only, but OU looks like they have found a defense.
  16. I don't think we move a spot, unless the committee moves BYU directly under us. I guess we might move up one, to 10.
  17. Notre Dame with the score and a one TD lead.
  18. yeah, they're not throwing to Coleman. Dummies.
  19. if this goes to two OTs, I think he will have over 500 yards. I think he is at 495.
  20. the funny thing to me is, it just doesn't matter if Coleman is covered or not. He can catch the ball, no matter where. Kind of like Megatron used to be.
  21. man, after last series, I would throw deep to Coleman...here it goes.
  22. so cocky!! ha!!
  23. I want to see a team be smart for a change and use their timeouts on D...Auburn, yes, and they took their first one.
  24. omg, he does look like Herman. Breathe, really? ok, dude
  25. I don't think we're getting help from anybody today. Maybe a miracle and Navy upsets Notre Dame?
