  1. You mean the schemed open RPO slant he ran for a TD? Is that a play DMo uniquely does well? His greatest value to the team is as a perimeter blocker. A better WR coach should be able to get guys blocking better.
  2. After the first few games, most fans will know the names of the standout players. It’s not much different from being able to follow who’s on what team in the NFL outside of the QB
  3. Lefau being gone makes it more appealing for higher end portal options at LB to come here as well. I liked the guy, but if we’re looking to maximize the roster, this move makes sense.
  4. His ability to drop into coverage on HS tape didn’t really manifest here. Solid against the run when he knew which hole to hit. Didn’t get off blocks the best though. Good guy, wish he would have stayed to set the floor, but as was mentioned, he can be replaced.
  5. We've seen Flood have effective OLs here and at Alabama. He hasn't been elite at it here, but if you replace him, you damn well better have a compatible upgrade available. He's been coaching OL play for Sark offenses for a long time, let's see what changes are made now that there is an obvious and public issue.
  6. Pretty sure Hardy to Mizzou was done before he even entered the portal. Also would have been a tough sell both ways considering the state of our room at that time.
  7. You're right, hyperbole is fun though. I remember how he handled that shot he took from Hill and he does much of his work in the middle of the field, IIRC.
  8. I'm sure Scudero has at least double the targets as Williams though. Dude would get murdered in the SEC
  9. Pretty sure Hardy was done before he even entered, but we were semi set with our backfield already. 6 backs to start the season. Went after Bailey, Hunter, and Thieneman
  10. He’s referring to how poor the o-line when he got here in 2021
  11. I agree with this. But I also believe being able to develop your guys along with the baseline recruiting edge provided by NIL the at Texas is more valuable than just being a rainmaker as was the thought in the pre-NIL recruiting landscape. It’s a spectrum, but the development side is something that Choice provided that really stood out to me.
  12. Relationships sure, but NIL is the recruiter these days. Give me someone who gets the most out of their backs.
  13. Barnes is gonna be a senior next year.
  14. Unless he took a big step up this year, Barnes is not good
  15. Along those lines, I thought it was interesting how emphatic Sark was in the Arkansas postgame about Anthony Hill playing against A&M. Then as the week progressed, it was clear that Hill wasn’t gonna play. Finally in his draft declaration post, Hill made no mention of Sark at all.
  16. That was always the issue with getting people the prize before actually having to do the work. It sounded like they were actively working against that risk, but maybe they fell in love with competing for recruiting rankings instead of hard filtering for mentality. Even the high dollar guys Oregon signs sit out longer than they likely need to, but it doesn’t hurt them since they only play a handful of teams who can punish them for it. That’s the next step in the culture/brotherhood we have to build. Getting them to prioritize playing for the standard/team over personal goals.
  17. He’s a solid 5-11 guy, but he’s pretty thin. Think Johntay Cook build. Saw/played pickup ball with D’Eriq King recently, and HE is small small. Built like a running back though, had success until he didn’t as a player but now doing well as the QB coach at SMU. He’s no smaller than Bryce Young, so if he’s as good as people say, it won’t matter too much.
  18. They also have Austin Mack who DeBoer chose over Julian Sayin.
  19. He either lost his athleticism or his willingness to move his legs like he did as a freshman. He wasn’t dynamic as a freshman, but you could see the potential once he bulked up a bit and learned to run through contact. Hoping he gets right and makes it to the league.
  20. You really seem to have a hard time understanding how things work now. His intangible value of the team is not worth handicapping the team’s ability to bring in or retain actual performers on the field. Paying someone who hasn’t really performed also sends the wrong message to the players on the team and future acquisitions.
  21. This year was the year for Vasek to get a fair amount of PT. If we keep Umeozulu, Jackson, Simmons, Orogbo, we're set. Throw Spence and Wesley in the mix and he isn't adding much value. He needs to go try to play and stay healthy elsewhere.
  22. KJ Lacey and Dia Bell don't sound like serious QB question marks. If they are somehow not developing, then we bring in a transfer QB.
  23. That frame is crazy. Built like a safety, very optimistic about him.
  24. You can't fix the scheduling issue unless you motivate the teams/conferences to fix it themselves.
