Choosing Tech over Ohio State is crazy crazy. That money machine must be going brrrr for anyone with a pulse.
Good thing they aren’t holding their water.
Why use a package like that for a game that would be nice to have, instead of a game where your season depends on it.
Arch getting banged up by running the ball 5 times against Georgia makes him unavailable in the event that Quinn gets hurt again in the playoff.
Clemson is physical? Maybe at times on the DL, but they’re either penetrating or getting uprooted when they play better teams.
As long as we don’t let Klubnik play outside of the pocket, particularly to the right, I’m not sure how they score TDs.
Maybe their third/fourth string RB turns out to be a big time gamer and makes this one a nail biter.
Pretty sure we didn’t “push” for him. We were being very picky off our big 2023 haul (only 2 remain). I think we consolidated our efforts on Justin Williams and TyAnthony Smith at the end.
Pretty sure he wanted to play WR the entire way and USC obliged. He looks like a discount Johnny Wilson at WR though. He needs to give into his frame and maximize his potential, but I dunno if he's had that come to Jesus moment yet.
I'd be shocked if Texas was in on that.
Klubnik’s got way more film and tendencies to read than Gunner Stockton. He is also being heavily game planned for because they don’t have any other real threats.
He is far and away the head of the snake. They also have an average OL, I wouldn’t be super worried unless Ethan Burke or one of our LBs decide to keep jumping outside of their gap responsibility
Quinn has a very special ability to throw the ball, but he isn’t a transcendent QB. He frequently struggles to make post snap reads and he occasionally struggles with ball placement.
The best QBs understand space and how to manipulate defenders to create opportunities for their targets. Even if they aren’t a big threat with their legs.
Quinn short circuits when he sees something he isn’t expecting or he puts the ball in danger by throwing into the defender he doesn’t see.
It’s frustrating to watch, but it could easily be worse. I’m still glad he’s a Horn and I’m thankful for his contributions to the resurgence of this program.
I consider TE a developmental position, and all we have returning are risky at best. Klare would provide a solid floor for the position.
How is he as a blocker?
