  1. Crazy contract. But it mostly depends on who he brings in as OC. If he pulls a Charlie Strong and brings in his buddy from Duke, then this will be even more entertaining than it already is.
  2. Shapen isn't bad at all. I could see him doing well at a place like UCF.
  3. Lots of players who were question marks coming into the year have broken in a positive to very positive way for us this year. From guys like Mitchell, Brooks, Blue, and Campbell on offense to guys like Sweat, Burke, and Hill on defense. Even Gbenda is a solid contributor on defense for the first time in his Texas career. It's been a good year and if this level of development is a trend, then we're about to go on a run.
  4. Those stats are actually from LAST season. He got passed up by Brahmer, and he's looking for PT for his final season.
  5. The thing Elko did that was successful when he was at A&M was having 3 big run stoppers on the front. They also played safety types at corner who were good in run support. It was pretty hard to run consistently on them, but they regularly got torched against the pass. It won't help them with two really talented passing offenses coming into the league though.
  6. Gabriel is really fucking good. He's not Kyler, Jalen, or Caleb though How can you be not so far removed from Spencer Rattler and not appreciate Dillon Gabriel?
  7. He went to the Florida game against fsu. he visited us mid week though.
  8. Further dampening his transfer portal market. Sucks for the kid, hopefully he sticks around.
  9. @Hagbard Celine I've already verified it, and it's a stupid stat, but those are the two losses. USC (preseason #6) was a 10.5 pt favorite at home against Utah and lost 34-32. Clemson (preseason #9) was a 13 pt favorite on the road against Duke and lost 28-7.
  10. Louisville will get the job done. Rodemaker is bad bad. It would have been more reassuring if Florida won, but I'm glad they aren't going to a bowl game for recruiting reasons. I could see Bama beating Georgia too. The first is more of a guarantee if it happens though.
  11. Thankfully BYU ran out of magic in their underwear after the first half I think Sitake's conservative nature ultimately did them in, and made this title game much easier
  12. Not gonna argue semantics. UCF with Plumlee isn't that bad. The conditions were poor, and they didn't run Ollie into the ground. They need Ollie going wild for them to be competitive offensively. Defensively, my main concern would be their defensive front getting pressure on Quinn. I think we could run the ball 66% of the time and give Quinn wide open throws 33% of the time and win this game by 20+
  13. OkSt is better than they played against BYU. BYU is bad against the run, but they didn't respect OkSt's passing game enough to take more people out of the box. BYU won the line of scrimmage against them too, which is a bad bad omen for them against us. Bowman might be the least mobile QB we've faced this year. I think Slovis moves better. OkSt has a weaker OL as well. I'm not sure how he hasn't taken more sacks. They'll need to hit multiple big shots throwing the ball for this one to stay close unless we really step all over our dicks like we tried to do early against Tech.
  14. I thought it was pretty clear once you saw his frame, length, quickness combo that he had a chance to be good. Then you add his motor and see how seriously he takes himself/his craft and you think he's more likely to maximize his potential as a result. He's ahead of schedule. The more surprising development is seeing how ahead of schedule Tapp is against the run.
  15. kstate ran 102 plays to iowa states 35 they both had about the same yardage wild stuff
  16. These missed false starts are adding up too.
  17. Noles get away with the massive hold that allows Rodemaker to escape. Then Gators make it worse by landing a huge hit after the gives himself up. Hopefully Filsaime is getting a first row seat of how poor this team's discipline is.
  18. Was Jordan Travis coaching too? What the hell
  19. BYU stopped the run and went up 24-6 on the road. They let Ollie get going and OkSt walked them down. We aren't likely to let him get going like that with any consistency.
  20. Both of these teams are complete ass.
  21. All they had to do was make the extra point. All they had to do was get a sack. All they had to do was make that pick. OkSt has the momentum though. Shouldn't have even come to this
  22. They lost like half of their starters to the portal, including their starting QB from last year.
  23. BYU is selling out to stop the run and Bowman is trash. The OkSt OL is also not holding up very well.
