  1. It's refreshing to see the level-headed responses here. This season has been a rousing success, and it's even better to hear the players talking like "yea, it's cool...but we not done yet" They have the right mentality, and that is credit to Sark and the coaches getting guys to buy in when some of them might not even be playing here anymore had we continued with the previous regime. One more win to turn this season into a banner one, then we have a chance to take it even further. Only been able to make it to 4 games this year, but it has been satisfying to see my faith in this coaching staff justified.
  2. Because we've done something in the past, doesn't mean we'll always do something in the future. I understand your point though. I'm not overthinking anything. He's a big kid, and I'd love for him to play corner and be a standout there. Where he is recruited and where he ends up being effective aren't always the same thing. Hopefully he has a good career at Texas playing corner, if that's where he ends up.
  3. He's like 6'2 200 already. His recovery speed is questionable as well. We'll see where his body takes him. Wouldn't be the worst thing to see him become a safety/nickel.
  4. That's some big movement. Wonder what's causing such a shift. Bowman, Ollie G, Martin, Oliver all going?
  5. Bigger from a size standpoint. Catalon is 5'9-5'10, 200+ McDonald is 6'2ish 195. He thought McDonald would be thicker...NTTAWWT
  6. Oregon’s position and our position don’t matter. If Oregon beat undefeated UW, they would pass us. Oregon takes UWs spot, we just need another spot to open up ala Florida St, mich, UGa losing
  7. 60-70 hrs a week? Try 120+ especially when you’re in the building phase.
  8. I'll give it another season and a half before he ghosts them and turns up on NFL network again
  9. Why in the world does it matter how they got to 4-8? He built the team at the same university, then produced a ton of money and 3 additional wins as a result. They were also more competitive. Year over year if he changes the entire roster again and gets to 10 wins, who fucking cares if he doesn't keep the same players from the year before?
  10. based on how the games they played went, that's what their cumulative win expectancy total was. Based on some key stats, they got better outcomes than they deserved.
  11. If we're just looking at stats, then UCF would be better than all of them. I'd take Penn State's top 2 over ours from the eye test, but it's a dumb discussion that is completely subjective. Set actual guidelines, then discuss from there. Derka/shadow_operative/Cartman, you claim to be making arguments, when in reality you're just making a series of value based judgements which are reflected by the quality of responses you get in return. Shit is just going in circles down the drain over here.
  12. Even places like Big Texas (RIP) in Clear Lake/Webster had some gems
  13. 2022 Kerry Coombs leaves Ohio State which helps 5ish-star DB Brooks flip to Texas on signing day. 2024 Corey Raymond gets fired from Florida BEFORE SIGNING DAY which helps 5-star S Filsaime flip to Texas on...?
  14. He moves very well for his size and can cover some too. Pairing him with Hill would be very interesting. An LB rotation with him, Hill, Lefau, and Burrell/Gbenda wouldn't suck.
  15. Sark is 0-2 against Oklahoma State and Mike Gundy. First time, it was Jaylen Warren going off in the second half while our offense couldn't maintain drives. Second time, Spencer Sanders went superman in the second half as the offense struggled to maintain drives and Quinn turned the ball over a bunch. Both games featured Worthy getting a ton of targets. This year, we are maintaining drives and stopping the run well. Bowman is likely less accurate, weaker armed, less mobile, and less experienced than Sanders behind a struggling OL. Bad ankle Ollie Gordon has to be the best player on the field by a mile for this to be close. Another thing to consider is they are in the first year of a last minute pickup at defensive coordinator. To say he's struggling is putting it nicely. He's trying to put his own spin on Jon Heacock's system and things aren't going well so far for Bryan Nardo. It will be an interesting game.
  16. Crazy contract. But it mostly depends on who he brings in as OC. If he pulls a Charlie Strong and brings in his buddy from Duke, then this will be even more entertaining than it already is.
  17. Shapen isn't bad at all. I could see him doing well at a place like UCF.
  18. Lots of players who were question marks coming into the year have broken in a positive to very positive way for us this year. From guys like Mitchell, Brooks, Blue, and Campbell on offense to guys like Sweat, Burke, and Hill on defense. Even Gbenda is a solid contributor on defense for the first time in his Texas career. It's been a good year and if this level of development is a trend, then we're about to go on a run.
  19. Those stats are actually from LAST season. He got passed up by Brahmer, and he's looking for PT for his final season.
  20. The thing Elko did that was successful when he was at A&M was having 3 big run stoppers on the front. They also played safety types at corner who were good in run support. It was pretty hard to run consistently on them, but they regularly got torched against the pass. It won't help them with two really talented passing offenses coming into the league though.
  21. Gabriel is really fucking good. He's not Kyler, Jalen, or Caleb though How can you be not so far removed from Spencer Rattler and not appreciate Dillon Gabriel?
  22. He went to the Florida game against fsu. he visited us mid week though.
