  1. Burke flying up field with reckless abandon was pretty much his biggest red flag from HS. He did it more often last year than he has this year, but he left a gaping hole on that play in particular due to it. Hill got caught in the wash, which actually happens pretty often, but on that play in particular he wasn't able to recover with his athleticism. He also needs much improvement with his zone drops, but that's expected.
  2. Are you agreeing with me? I fully agree with the belief that Quinn is inconsistent in deep ball throwing when compared to other high level college QBs and even average NFL starting QBs.
  3. The only pass you listed that would be considered a deep ball is the one over the top to worthy where he lost his balance instead of running in for a TD.
  4. Brooks wasn't ideal, he's just a better back right now. Baxter needs better vision and better feet. He's a little taller and thicker in the lower half than Brooks. If Baxter works on those two things, as well as setting up blocks and defenders, he's gonna blow up. He's got great hands, speed, and he's good at blitz pickup for his level of experience.
  5. Because we have BIG HUMANS! Nah, but Sark has always been a run first guy. I wouldn't mind seeing us do more 11 personnel stuff with Jaydon Blue as the back. He's a hard guy to match up with since you can motion him out and have him run routes on a safety or a linebacker. He's like a smaller, less physical version of Rueben Owens.

This should have fans much happier rather than hearing the "winning is hard" shit from the previous guy. He knows things aren't good enough long term.
  7. I meant they wrt to Quinn and Curtis, but i didn't set the antecedent. I laughed though, my bad
  8. There's no way Traylor rushes anything with Arkansas or Miss St. now that A&M is open. He's too smart for that, he'll stall as much as he can until the other guys make him decide
  9. I apologize to everyone I called dumb wrt Quinn coming back. I understand the logic if they do eventually decide to come back, but they must have received some new information to make them reconsider.
  10. Stewart would put the culture of the locker room at risk, he's good but he does his own thing. We don't need him.
  11. Unless they can get pressure on Quinn they can’t stop our receivers. Someone is always open, he just has to find them
  12. I said nothing about snap counts. Rewatch the game. They ran at Broughton on most of the big runs.
  13. "Wish him the best in his future endeavors?" That shit reads like an email sent to fire an hourly worker at Kroger for no call-no showing one too many times.
  14. All the more reason to run clock. Protect Quinn and protect the defense. Kstate was also quick scoring due to short fields. Poor tackling and coverage were the issues here. I think we saw those same issues against Alabama, OU, and UH this year.
  15. Quinn forced the ball to Worthy a few times in that game where others had favorable matchups. He also was clearly working through some pain on the sidelines. I think Sark did the right thing by taking as much air out of the ball as early as he did. The defense was not supposed to be giving up chunk yardage and quick scores like they did. TCU can put up yards, but they've struggled to actually score for much of the year. The strategy made sense, but the guys just didn't play sound ball.
  16. It's supposed to work despite less than ideal blocking, except Red is starting to dance too much instead of just finding a guy to run through. My main gripe is that we don't seem to hunt matchups as much as I would like us to. I also think he's being stubborn as fuck with his attempts to big boy people, when spreading them out and winning while making them hesitate is where this team can really shine. Defensively, I hate that we rotate so much. TCU found success on the ground running against guys like Broughton up front. When our DL fails, everything else gets pretty suspect. Hopefully he learns and grows out of the stubborn stuff, but I'll take 9-1 all fucking day. If he gets the blame for the bad stuff, then he gets credit for the good stuff too.

Talent level is higher than it has been, but the talent level is not overwhelming. Quinn is good, but this is only his second year in the system. The IOL has big issues getting push in a scheme that relies on inside zone. The defense is still figuring out how to play as a unit. Sark is still learning how to manage his team and game day. We're fortunate to have some standout play from a few stars to help this team overcome its deficiencies. Keep winning and most of these issues work themselves out over time through recruiting, development, and experience. It's a blessing to be 9-1
  18. You can definitely walk after an ACL tear, probably even better than he was walking. The difficulty extending his knee makes me think meniscus, but we'll see. Hopefully it isn't severe, but he should take it easy to protect his first NFL contract.
  19. It may not have been intentional, but the KO return took extra time off the clock which helped us end the game on that drive without needing more plays
  20. Yea, we lose that game with Maalik at QB. Many of the throws that Quinn made to X with Newton in coverage were dimes. Like if he's off or late by too much, that's a turnover.

We have matched some people's predictions for the season with 2 games to go, have already exceeded the win total from last year, and we still have a ton of meat left on this bone. Hopefully the Brooks injury isn't season ending, but this team is more than equipped to win through the air. Baxter can hit lighter boxes on the interior and we can go 11 or 10 personnel hitting short passes until the deep ball opens up. Of course this means we'll be running with Jaydon Blue into stacked boxes behind Hayden Conner next week. It's a blessing to be 9-1, we already got the style points we needed this year in Tuscaloosa. Gotta win the Big 12, then see what happens from there.
  22. Would they really drop Jimbo now for Jeff Traylor? There's no way they secured a commitment from anyone else. What's the value in doing it now instead of waiting?
  23. Neto was missing blocks all over the place in the spring game. We've already seen Quinn get hurt this year, now is not the time to bring in a guy who could throw the entire left side of the OL into disarray. We'll live with Conner for now, especially since we'll be throwing a bit more with Brooks out.
