  1. This would be the third time this year, where are you hearing this?
  2. That's too bad, but he'll get a chance to make a case for himself here before transferring to UTSA or Incarnate Word if it doesn't work out.
  3. Football is a forcible contact sport
  4. None of those major guys listed are going to take "prove-it" contracts. Elko/Fisch could if the base is high enough.
  5. Landon Jackson has turned into an early day 2 guy, despite a rough start to his career. I don't think Lance has the same upside, but we could definitely do worse.
  6. While I understand the concept of schadenfreude, there is plenty of grasping at straws going on here. Shaka has proven that he isn't a fraud with the work he has done in his short time at Marquette. Now he's got this scrappy team of afterthought players doing very well against a very good KU team.
  7. Additionally, the moment they get a guy that has a decent/good year or two. The market/his agent will get rid of all that incentive shit at the first opportunity that presents itself.
  8. Holmes always lacked physicality, but he's not able to turn and run with any confidence either. So he plays off, gives up the catch, then misses the tackle. I doubt he's anything more than spot depth next year. There's more upside elsewhere.
  9. Production in this offense is generally a given. Sark has pretty much always had a 1k+ yard back and a productive main duo of receivers.
  10. I think if he comes correct, it could work since it's a contract season for him. At least you know he's productive enough when he's out there, unlike Agiye Hall. He would need to willing to block here too. He's shown he can get open against SEC level guys though. It's just so risky to invest in a guy with his mentality.
  11. Carter would be ill-advised to leave. Collins would also benefit from coming back, but that's not happening. I wouldn't be surprised to see some guys on that list grad transfer Neyor must have been hitting the books hard the last 2 years.
  12. As long as our guys tackle, we'll be fine. Tech does more side to side stuff like OU. I'm sure they'll challenge us deep at some point, but Morton isn't great with the deep ball. Donovan Smith would worry me more than this guy. His legs and ability to get hot would be a problem with Tech's OL. Behren Morton and Josh Hoover are at similar points in their development, Hoover has a better arm, Morton is more athletic.
  13. This fails to mention the fact that they've been rushing for over 150+ yards in those games as well. If we hold them to 50 yards rushing and they throw for 300, that's a win.
  14. The interview with him and Alex Okafor is very good and a further testament to the job Sark and Co. have done in their short time here so far. It's so rare to see a bad apple turn into gold like this. Glad he pulled through.
  15. Frosted mini-wheats or the more delicious Mom's Best Naturals version of it is very underrated taste-wise and helps keep you regular
  16. This game alone can make their entire season. They might even throw Shough out there to kamikaze Quinn late after the whistle.
  17. Owens is slightly better than last year, but he's like a BJ Foster clone out there most of the time. Lacks physicality too. No wonder he didn't wanna try his hand at linebacker.
  18. Tech will be up for this game. No doubt about it. Brooks has tired legs, but they'll run him as much as he can take. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain in this game. They'll get Morton killed out there if it means getting a few extra first downs. Hutchings will play if he can go at all. They're not playing the good LB Martinez just so they can preserve his redshirt. Their WRs gave us fits last year, but I think Myles Price (10 recs last year) might be too hurt to go. Drae McCray is fast and shifty enough. None of this will make a shit if we show up at all. I think the guys are locked in and have plenty of motivation to get the job done. Way too close to the endzone to ease up.
  19. For the sake of being even-handed, the OL and Hayden Conner in particular had a hell of a game on Saturday in Ames. Conner was actually moving his feet on contact and driving people 2-3 yards on more than one occasion. Hopefully he maintains that level of nasty going forward. Good job guys.
  20. Come on man. Any given Saturday/Sunday. It's a matchup game. That same KU team went toe to toe with K-state yesterday. Same UCF team blew out Oklahoma state and went to the wire with OU. This Tech team has the tools on offense to make this a challenge if we play below average ball. They don't have the battering ram QB to convert massive 4th downs over and over with anymore though. They're gonna gamble early and often too And no, they don't run the 3 high safety look. However, they will probably throw it out there once we start moving the ball through the air with ease.
  21. Morton only played the first half against KSU, they were down 3 at the half. They were struggling a bit to keep up, but it was competitive. Once Strong settled in, that game went the other way in a hurry.
  22. TTU is better than this. You can pretty much ignore their games where they relied on Jake Strong. They were going toe to toe with KSU until Morton got knocked out. Then KSU leaned into the Avery Johnson wrinkle and he took the game over. Strong turned the ball over a ton. BYU game was a comedy of errors led by Strong again. They are on a 3 game winning streak with Morton back, but Tahj Brooks makes that offense go. They have a good receiving corps too. The defense is questionable, especially if their stud safety Taylor-Demerson doesn't play. They are very thin at linebacker too. Hutchings gave us trouble last year, but he may be out. E'maurion Banks made some big time plays last night though. This could be a sneaky one if we aren't focused.
  23. Normal guys get 5 to play 4. He has +1 from Covid and +1 from medical redshirt. Seventh and final year.
  24. Yea, that was like bizarro-Louisville. Didn't expect this to be a game at all.
