  1. Man…he beat an otherwise undefeated Alabama team in Tuscaloosa by 10 and it could have been worse. Same Alabama team that just smoked the LSU team they lost to last year despite losing 3 first round draft picks and 8 guys in the top 3 rounds in total. Not to mention two of those guys went in the top 3 picks overall. Makes no sense to try and diminish that massive accomplishment by this team, especially as a fan.
  2. There isn’t even a lineman past the LOS in that still, MM is just really far behind his OL
  3. MM winning the QB battle next year would be a massive upset. Even without any bias from the coaches/program implications MM struggling like he is now makes it more likely his value on the transfer market goes down, which makes it more likely he stays an extra year to backup Arch. That’s the best case scenario for Texas.
  4. Quinn had 11 sacks in 10 games last year. He's had 17 sacks in 7 games this year. It might be worse as far as hits if I dig deeper than ESPN
  5. That's recruiting more than development. MM is playing 2 years too early, he's had a QB coach for at least 9 years and still has throwing mechanics like he's only been playing backyard 7 on 7 his entire life. He also has injury issues that have slowed his development. Unfortunately, our failure to protect Quinn forced him into action before he was ready. My biggest issues are with his decision making. I know he's hurt but he's gotta know his limitations, learn from his worst mistakes, and keep things simple until Quinn gets back. His improvisation helped us win the game though. That 4th down throw to JT in the 4th quarter was probably not where the pass was supposed to go (look at Whittington), but he directed JT open and made the throw.
  6. I'd guess a mixture of poor confidence and poor mechanics He doesn't have the same off platform throwing ability as Quinn and even he gets in trouble when he doesn't get his feet right.
  7. I imagine the coaches have kept in touch with Braylan Shelby and have made it known that we’d love for him to be a Longhorn. He’s young for his grade too, so lots of development left in that massive frame.
  8. If MM could run at all, his boneheaded decisions would be more palatable Whoever compared him to Joe Milton was spot on, except Milton isn’t terrified of being hit. Milton has more functional athleticism too
  9. Hoover is much less of a run threat than pre-injury Morris, but Hoover could pick apart our secondary if given any kind of time. Fully agreed about the TCU defense, except for their secondary apart from Avery Helm.
  10. They could actually beat LSU next week if Daniels can't go. LSU defense is horrible.
  11. TCU will have the most athletic secondary MM has faced. Their linebackers are undisciplined and lead footed, I'm talking almost KU level bad. We need Brooks and Baxter in a major way this week. I would love to see more of Cam Williams too, that guy was blocking guys 10 yards down the field when he wasn't drawing false start penalties. He's also very light on his feet for his size.
  12. This is quite possibly the dumbest post I've seen in awhile. It's so bad that I had to check my sarcasm meter twice. Ewers is gone. MM will likely officially lose the battle in fall camp next year. Manning came here fully expecting to redshirt, then play year two. MM was a solid part of why we won yesterday, he was also a large part of why KSU got back into the game. He's making throws downfield that Card didn't make outside of one of two times when afforded the same opportunity. He just needs to take better care of the ball, and stop trying to make plays after they're busted. He probably won't see his potential realized here, but you can see what makes him so interesting as a QB prospect.
  13. His footwork is abysmal. At times, some of the worst i've ever seen from a D1 player in an actual game. I wish Sark would manage him harder like he did with Quinn last year, but I understand wanting to give MM the opportunity to see how much more work he really needs. He's probably gone either way, but it's gotta be pretty clear to him now just how much work he needs to do before being the guy.
  14. I'm not so sure they will, but I do think it's a tough matchup for our secondary.
  15. Both Hurts and Mahomes were outstanding in college by the end of their careers.
  16. I wonder if we can move Christian Jones to LG and leave Cam Williams at RT. I know they've cross trained a lot of those guys.
  17. Every time MM threw the ball after the first quarter was cringe-inducing. One in particular that stood out was him rolling to his right with limited to no pressure, then throwing across his body to the middle of the field. He completed it, but holy shit. Do these QB coaches not work to improve football awareness/IQ? At times, he looked like he'd never even played the position before
  18. The pig win was potentially the biggest one.
  19. Fuck the playoff, i'd rather play this OkSt team than OU. It would have been great to get revenge next year, but I'd rather get the best matchup to win the conference title game.
  20. I think Mack flips to FSU if they push, Filsaime is the one I'm really hoping for.
  21. Nah, it was pretty fucking bad. He is way too careless with the ball to be relied on.
  22. His feet break down when he has to go through his progressions. He makes horrible decisions when plays break down. He has moments of brilliance, but you can't rely on that level of inconsistency, His bad feet led to the same poor accuracy he showed in high school. Arch must be pretty bad to not get a look
  23. Texas wins, Florida and A&M lose. Good start to the day
  24. Looks like the nose of the ball hits the ground, but can’t overturn that. Refs are crooked as fuck.
