  1. You guys are fucking insufferable. I hate when y'all get in this mode.
  2. Caldwell better strike while the iron's hot because he may fall down the pecking order as this coaching carousel precipitates new portal entrants.
  3. Omg Derka'ed. I'm kidding, solid post.
  4. His dad played at Auburn, and his family is full of Auburn fans. He's also closer to Auburn location wise.
  5. Definitely did. Had this game on as background noise and was resigned to the loss as we choked down the stretch. Big time win. Unexpected.
  6. Wester’s film was very meh, especially when compared to Bolden’s
  7. Look at all those looks of despair on UWs sideline. Even DeBoer looks like "welp" Arrogant fucks.
  8. Michigan can probably win this game with a FG drive here. A TD drive might cause UW to lose faith altogether.
  9. No misdirection at all, running with 11 personnel and no one is even being affected by the token motion before the play. McCarthy isn't gonna win this game throwing the ball. Commit to the run with 6 lineman or two TEs. Throw off play action. McCarthy should be able to run some too.
  10. Michigan was having their way when running plays out of jumbo packages. They really don't need to spread UW out at all.
  11. "I'm too old to be getting my ass chewed out by Saban all the time"
  12. Brenan Thompson catches deep balls like a girl playing IM flag football.
  13. I actually agree with this. If he can put on some weight and block better, he’s a matchup nightmare waiting to happen
  14. He's from North Shore. Very talented kid.
  15. Now we can debate whether Arch would have made that throw or not. I’m kidding. That play should be motivating Quinn to no end though. At the very least he should learn to be more consistently calm in the pocket. He should also get better at knowing which arm angle to use for his throws.
  16. This is true, but Watts was cross trained at safety during an offseason while at Ohio state.
  17. No worries. It’s also notable to mention that we didn’t recruit linebacker well under that tenure either, and that impacts coverage integrity too.
  18. Murphy never played under Herman. He was a 2021 recruit. 3 years and out
  19. I could have been more obvious about the point I was making. The guys who were good were generally there before Herman got there. He brought in Sterns, DMo, Jamison, Foster, Cook, and Green. Adimora, Watson, Owens, Alford, and the rest were his as well. Orlando's defense was good with Strong's guys. Got progressively worse. PK's defense has gotten progressively better since getting here. Sweat, Cook, Thompson, Jamison, Crawford, Barron, Ford, Gbenda, and Bush were all guys who were on a roster with Herman as head coach, but eventually contributed to a good Texas defense under Sark. Outside of Sweat, Ford, and Barron, who are we potentially hurting over losing?
  20. Not solely schematic. There was a talent issue too. Kris Boyd was super talented, but had poor discipline. Holton Hill was more undisciplined off the field than on it. Deshon Elliott left after the 2017 season, and that was a pretty good defense that year. Brandon Jones had great athleticism and run support, but bad ball skills. Chris Brown was limited athletically, but solid in run support. BJ Foster got worse every year after his first, overall lack of discipline. DMo is a linebacker. PJ Locke was solid and a likely victim of a bad scheme. D'Shawn Jamison could also have been used better. I think Josh Thompson has all the talent in the world, but he was just always a step or two late. Sterns was hurt often after his great freshman season, and tried to play through some injuries that made it tough for him to make the same plays we came to expect. Most of the guys they recruited at DB were overrated. Jalen Green lacked the speed and technique to play corner. He finished as an average safety at Miss St. Chris Adimora finished his career as a linebacker at SMU. Kenyatta Watson, Tyler Owens, Xavian Alford, etc.
  21. Where did this narrative of him being hurt all the time come from? This is literally the only year where he's missed games due to injury. Played in 11/14 (10/14 if you remove Tech) and 13/13 last year.
  22. The reason was a lack of talent at the position. Went 1/4 at DB in 2022, then brought in some good guys in 2023. All but Muhammad needed time to bake. 2024 has guys like Black, Wilson, and Mack who are all pretty talented. Black will play some this year, and could take over for/keep rotating with Brooks in 2025. We had Watts playing out of necessity, now things have changed. He's solid, but we can do better at that position. Would have been interesting to see how he looked at safety with a full offseason of development, but if he's not interested then that's too bad.
  23. Film matters more than stats, but stats do matter to an extent. Maye and Williams are very talented playmakers. Quinn is really good, but I wouldn't necessarily call him a playmaker/field general type. Quinn is like a talented bus driver for the offense right now.
