  1. He probably wants to see what he has in MM before next week. But MM is careless as fuck with the ball
  2. Their linebackers are ass. Gabriel and hard running Walker will get whatever they want in this game, even if KU loads up against it.
  3. Houston was ready to quit in our game too, but we gave them just enough life to keep them and the crowd motivated.
  4. Maalik can run more than people give him credit for, but he's the least mobile QB we've had back there in a long time. You also don't want him pushing the pile and risking his ankle/back when you'll be down to your #3 guy if he aggravates either one. Let the #4 RB fire hydrant with that dawg mentality handle those duties.
  5. Yea, the idea that Sark is the sole reason why bad passes get thrown or Ewers went deep so often last year was baffling to me. There are ALWAYS other options for the QB to take. It's a progression read offense. The QBs who do best in it are the ones who make their way through the progressions fast enough. It is Sark's job to call the plays that optimize the reads his current QB is most capable of making. Quinn is much better about not forcing the deep ball this year.
  6. Our linebackers will be able to cover without worrying about QB run this week. PK has traditionally done well against pro-style teams, even when they spread things out a bit.
  7. A different qb playing great doesn’t have to mean Quinn isn’t also playing very good ball right now.
  8. Is this satire? Quinn is really good considering his lack of experience
  9. Ohio State definitely wanted him to stay in HS. They already had Kyle McCord as a true freshman EE on campus, and he was gonna be their 2022 guy. It threw a monkey wrench into their plans, but it worked out when he left OSU soon after they landed Devin Brown for the 2022 cycle. They knew they would lose either McCord or Ewers.
  10. OU game with like 10 -15 seconds left and needing a TD
  11. Quinn's family was loaded before he became a big deal. Different strategies, and that's ok. We'll see if it works out for him long-term, but hopefully he comes back this year and leads us to a Big 12 title.
  12. Different people do things differently. As long as both sides consent, who gives a fuck?
  13. People truly vote with their dollars, but I'm not sure what percentage of Texas fans consider themselves diehards or casuals. That said, it doesn't make sense to be so attention-invested in a team's outcome without wanting to do anything to increase the likelihood of a positive one. All they can do is continue to raise awareness of the issue, maybe more data can be presented at this point too.
  14. I strongly doubt that. North shore is well known for putting out great kids lately like Zach Evans and Denver Harris, to name a few.
  15. Junipero Serra is definitely a talented HS. It's just not as talented as the Cali powerhouses (SJB, MD, De La Salle, Centennial)
  16. Pretty sure Evan Stewart was committed to Texas at one point, but aggie gonna aggie.
  17. We really just need him to get away with it for a few weeks. If his confidence is rewarded early against BYU, I'll feel much better about K-State, TCU, and Iowa State. Hopefully they give him plenty of blitz beaters though, he'll get in trouble with disguised coverages if he determines his targets pre-snap too often.
  18. Wouldn't be surprised if he comes in with Derek Williams' family. They come to most of the games too.
  19. Anthony Cook was a 5 star CB at one point too. Finished his career at Texas as a safety with solid athleticism. BJ Foster was also a 5 star.
  20. Did you screenshot that from the day he committed? He was a mid four star composite guy by signing day and a three star by on3. Hes got great tools, but he’s more raw than most.
  21. Maalik can scramble a bit, but he’s easily the slowest of the three main QBs. He also has or had bad feet, which probably contributes to his below average accuracy.
  22. If Maalik is gonna play well this year, this is the week. There's next to no film on the guy, and he’s at home. I believe in his tools, but I don’t believe in his consistency yet. We will see An X-factor is that he’s got a lot of charisma, and the team really responds to him. Very similar to the spark Sam provided as a true freshman. I hope he lights it up out there. Just gotta protect the ball.
