  1. Hutson played a lot against BYU at RG.
  2. I haven't seen a Kevin Mar crew in a while. I think he may have been demoted.
  3. Some of them are slow, but Lassiter is about league average. Epps is above average speed-wise. Roberts is slow, but uses his body well, Kingston is shifty and gets open in zone. The guys communicated MUCH better yesterday, but not worrying about QB run made things much easier even with the motions they used. We left Slovis alone and he did better than he usually does in the QB run game, but he wasn't gonna beat us that way. Will Howard could beat us with it, Avery Johnson would definitely beat us with it. Jaylan Ford can't be asked to account for the QB in the QB run game anymore, definitely not next week. Blackwell/Hill give us the best chance there. Most interesting in this game will be how we stop the run. Cooper Beebe is legit, should be interesting.
  4. We don't have the OL to run IZ successfully when the other team is keying on it. RPOs have been our most effective plays down there. They also increase the risk of turnovers and negative plays.
  5. Brooks is not a heavy carries guy. We didn't need to run him a bunch in this game, and his body is happy about not getting all those hits yesterday after getting 28 touches last week.
  6. Red zone comes down to execution more than anything else, both ways. We also have guys up front who either miss blocks, make poor contact, or get pushed back. The play to JT was a good one, but their guy beat a JWhitt block so credit to them. I think we'll see more variations with the Red package going forward. We only need to show so much against BYU. Next week is gonna be a huge test.
  7. The only reason why you haven't been blocked is so I get a chance to neg your stupidity until your eventual crowd sourcing. OkSt handily beat Kansas State as a 12 point dog. Pulled out a win against Kansas as a 3 point dog Solidly beat West Virginia on the road as a 3 point dog Then handed Cincy its biggest margin of defeat this year by far as a 7-point favorite. All this after losing 33-7 to a now 4-4 Sun Belt squad at home. They're easily playing like a top 4 team in this conference right now. OU has had issues against the run, they're coming off loss to Kansas, AND Stutsman may be out. This was gonna be an interesting game even if OU was decently healthy.
  8. Maalik Murphy is dealing with a touchy back and a lingering ankle, why on earth would he potentially hurt himself for that play? That is a very smart play by a young player.
  9. Ollie Gordon is why I think OkSt beats OU this year. Bowman is good enough to keep them honest, but Gordon is on some other shit right now.
  10. Hayden Conner is absolutely abysmal at run blocking. He makes loose contact, then disengages almost immediately. His guy also gets in the hole more often than you'd like. A major positive coming out of this game is the reinsertion of Cole Hutson. After the major gaffe that led to MM's fumble, Hutson replace Campbell and the OL looked a bit more cohesive on passing downs.
  11. confident is one thing, he's late on many reads. That last throw to Mitchell was money.
  12. He needs to kick the fucking FG. He sees red in the red zone and it gets in the way of better judgement sometimes.
  13. Sark is managing Maalik since one of BYUs main win conditions is turning him over. He will throw sparingly to keep them more honest from keying the run.
  14. PK doesn’t have much experience coordinating the entire defense, but maybe Raymond would be able to contribute there
  15. He needs to learn to let a play die. He was throwing the ball into danger and getting bailed out. He got burned on the horrific throw to Worthy, and Sark adjusted accordingly. We need to get another TD to let him find a good comfort zone.
  16. The back end is coordinated by Terry Joseph unless something has changed. It isn't matching up well with the front end.
  17. He probably wants to see what he has in MM before next week. But MM is careless as fuck with the ball
  18. Their linebackers are ass. Gabriel and hard running Walker will get whatever they want in this game, even if KU loads up against it.
  19. Houston was ready to quit in our game too, but we gave them just enough life to keep them and the crowd motivated.
  20. Maalik can run more than people give him credit for, but he's the least mobile QB we've had back there in a long time. You also don't want him pushing the pile and risking his ankle/back when you'll be down to your #3 guy if he aggravates either one. Let the #4 RB fire hydrant with that dawg mentality handle those duties.
  21. Yea, the idea that Sark is the sole reason why bad passes get thrown or Ewers went deep so often last year was baffling to me. There are ALWAYS other options for the QB to take. It's a progression read offense. The QBs who do best in it are the ones who make their way through the progressions fast enough. It is Sark's job to call the plays that optimize the reads his current QB is most capable of making. Quinn is much better about not forcing the deep ball this year.
  22. Our linebackers will be able to cover without worrying about QB run this week. PK has traditionally done well against pro-style teams, even when they spread things out a bit.
  23. A different qb playing great doesn’t have to mean Quinn isn’t also playing very good ball right now.
  24. Is this satire? Quinn is really good considering his lack of experience
