  1. They would be foolish to try the triple option. They’ll have some wrinkles to their offense, but they aren’t throwing that in just for the run of it. Especially with Gabriel’s injury history.
  2. You know what offense we’re going up against, right? They don’t really use the tight end like that.
  3. A&M could definitely beat Bama this week. I think they’ll find a way to move the ball on the ground. The real question is, can Bama score enough to put the game out of reach for A&M?
  4. The DBs are playing off coverage to respect the speed of our guys, so it provides a big opportunity if blocked well. People have been reacting quickly to most of them. Teams aggressively playing those screens provides pump fake shenanigans.
  5. This made me laugh out loud. It's hidden gems like this that keep me coming back to this site. Well done, buddy.
  6. Peasley and Shapen magically got better enough to play the week after we played their team. Daniels wakes up on game day and is like, "fuck that, ohh my back hurts" He'll magically be good to go whenever they play next.
  7. Banks hasn't improved this year as much as I expected him to. DJ Campbell and Jake Majors are showing up in a big way though. Christian Jones is definitely our most reliable guy right now
  8. Jason Bean is fast as hell, and Kansas has a pretty good OL, especially pass pro at tackle. We rushed with discipline to avoid giving him easy chunk plays with his legs.
  9. I'll be shocked if we score less than 40 against these guys. I also don't see the defense giving up more than 20. They don't have the nuclear guy you have to really scheme for. Farooq is their best deep threat, and Anderson has a good combination of size and speed. Stoops is shifty and has good rapport with Gabriel. Brenen Thompson might see some more action against us, but he's still 5'8-5'9 with questionable hands. Gabriel is about as athletic in the pocket as Wyoming's guy, but much smaller. We get pressure, we win. I don't think their running game is gonna find much success against us, we may even be able to stop it with a lighter box.
  10. Brooks was a Herman/Stan Drayton guy. This staff developed him though
  11. We dominated them with our O from the jump. The D needed time to get their feet under them and then locked them down too. 2 big plays and Burt Auburn having his hair in his eyes were the only reasons why this game was ever in doubt. Onward to Dallas
  12. Whittington is one of our best perimeter blockers. He is also reliable as far as getting open against zone coverage
  13. I wouldn’t be shocked if he tries to make Quinn beat him and focuses more on stopping the run.
  14. We need to manage his workload so he lasts the season. Lots of mouths to feed too, I could see Brooks getting 60% of the competitive carries, with Baxter getting 30%, and the others getting 10% based on game situations
  15. He’s always been Piglet wrt to this team’s outlook. His optimism in the off-season is what really started validating my own. I think he even predicted 10 wins this year. To hear he’s back to expecting meh performance from this team relative to others is interesting.
  16. Hey Nunu, I have no issue with what Marcus did in that game. I hope he’s doing well. The point is that we have upgraded. Now, they actually have to game plan to stop guys like Sanders and Mitchell.
  17. We don’t play BYU in Provo. They beat us by 1 with Casey Thompson, Brenden Schooler, BJ Foster, Luke Brockermeyer, Marcus Washington, and a host of other massive liabilities and malcontents either starting or getting significant playing time. They were spotted like 14 points by Hudson Card as well. We have played against Jalon Daniels 3 times now. This is the best team they’ll have faced from us in all three matchups. A large portion of the 10-12 contributors on our defensive front would have to lay an egg for their run game to have the consistent success it needs for this one to be within 10 points.
  18. It’s true. Kerstetter played, and struggled at center for much of 2020. After he got hurt, Majors slipped in and played the rest of the season.
  19. These guys are gonna eat this week. Disciplined rush lanes, I’m not too worried about the run. Don’t take the cheese and the KU offense becomes very manageable. Interested in seeing how they handle Fairchild the TE.
  20. Hard to get fired if you aren’t under contract. He tried to negotiate, fox said no, shit happens. If he had a greater need for the position, then that’s too bad.
  21. He looked pretty nimble out there at LT. Baylor had already mentally quit, but still. It will be interesting to see how he looks after he puts on good weight after losing so much bad weight.
  22. It’s a been good sign under Flood when they identify someone they like early and pursue them. I imagine he’s a guard though
  23. Arch probably gets the nod before then if it’s overwhelming, but Maalik just needs to keep improving to have a shot at the upset. He isn’t ready to play on a full time basis just yet. He’ll have a year on him as far as time learning the system, but Arch is a very quick study.
