  1. The OL needs to play better than this against Rice. It's pretty embarrassing.
  2. Better to get the nerves out in this game. Rice is actually playing hard and smart out there. Our guys aren't looking great so far, but the potential is there, especially once the OL stops missing blocks.
  3. OL needs to round into form quickly. Cant go into Tuscaloosa with this shit. Quinn is fine, but he's not clean and the run blocking isnt much better.
  4. Good shit Deion, this is all he needed to do this year to maintain the hype until next year.
  5. Card is still not good. Poor situational awareness
  6. TCU could run the ball 80% of the time and win this game going away. Hell of a play by Hunter though
  7. They're just letting Hunter get more rest this way
  8. Colorado can't play defense either. They'll probably have to score 14 more points to win this one.
  9. Same POS Jamoi Hodge who landed multiple dirty hits last year to knock out opposing QBs.
  10. Colorado might fuck around and make a bowl this year.
  11. What makes McKinley better than them? I'm gonna go ahead and say you have no idea. Have Sorrell and Murphy had better careers than Alfred Collins and Vernon Broughton thus far? McKinley isn't the one to get your panties in a wad over. He's a project with great measurables.
  12. On top of this, while we have likely lost the recruitment, A&M hasn’t even won the recruitment yet. If he flips, I don’t see it being to us. The resources required to keep this guy in the fold are now freed up to focus on other priorities.
  13. He must have really wanted to keep Neto from taking his spot
  14. Jaray Bledsoe, Aaron Bryant, Sydir Mitchell, Byron Murphy’s development, Alex January, D’Antre Robinson, Melvin Hills, and portal guys as needed. We’re fine.
  15. This one seems like more of a small town kid vs big city austin situation. Especially with this guy, if he isn’t comfortable, he either won’t maximize or will transfer before he becomes useful on game days.
  16. He was a mainstay on 6th street for a while. I think he was selling cars when I last shared drinks with him. Good to hear he’s getting back into football.
  17. Bryce Young, who beat us with his ability to throw on the run, scramble, evade would be sacks, and was the #1 dual threat QB his year, posed zero threat to run? Nice take, I guess.
  18. We absolutely smoked Rice with Casey Thompson on the way to a 5-7 season. Very little can be gleaned from this game
  19. Jamison wasn’t shitty, but he’s short, short armed, and undisciplined. Brooks was stickier and provided better run support (still room for improvement there). All as a true freshman. He’s one of the upside improvements that has actually shown something on the field. I hope all of our former horns have long and successful NFL careers, even if they didn’t play the best while on the team.
  20. We relied on, and were burned by, multiple players who are no longer playing here this year. Their replacements all represent higher ceilings and, if you believe the reports, current improvements too. Terrence Brooks looked amazing for most of the back end of the season. Now he's even better. Manny Muhammad could supplant Watts by season's end. Anthony Cook had some positive moments, but he wasn't great back there, Kitan Crawford was worse. Secondary is significantly improved. Linebacker play should be more than fine, even with DMo's departure. Edge should be an improvement with Ovie gone and Sorrell taking another step forward. Interior DL will hopefully remain as stout. WR corps is significantly improved. We were relying on two less than healthy guys for most of the year. Worthy was getting double and triple teamed at times. They can't do that anymore now that we brought Mitchell in and Neyor is back from injury. Sanders is back and better. The OL should be significantly improved and will continue to improve as Banks and Campbell get more snaps. Hopefully Neto can show enough in the first few games to take over for Conner earlier in the season. Improved OL play and greater WR threats should make things easier for the RBs as well. Brooks is more than capable of popping a big gain with his contact balance. CJ Baxter can hopefully pass protect well enough to spell him as much as he needs. TE is fine with JT Sanders and Helm would be a reliable chain mover if needed. Quinn is focused and more engaged for his season long job interview. He looks fantastic and consistent. I'm curious to see how his on-field demeanor has improved. Big time redemption opportunity for him and Sark. Gotta stay healthy though. Other than RB, we've pretty much improved across the board. We have staff continuity, and have filled in key gaps other than Edge. No more excuses, this is the year to remind everyone who we fucking are.
  21. Malik didn’t have the taste for physicality that Hill has, but maybe they could have coached him up better than BJM, Strong, and Orlando did
  22. Ideally similar to colt’s first year, but with less talent on defense. Tougher schedule too.
  23. We will need to be able to execute our plays even if the other team knows what’s coming. Otherwise, we will continue to generally be a first half team on offense. OL and QB improvement will help with this.
  24. Agreed. This one feels very similar to the end of the Jalen Hale recruitment. Obviously we’re pushing harder here, but same general feel/reporting.
