  1. I said last week either we give them their first loss or Baylor will. We had every chance to do it, but after last week's games I had little doubt that Baylor would.
  2. Having Angilau back is huge from a leadership standpoint and raises the floor for the OL next year. But in order for next year to be special, Sark has to figure out how to make Quinn effective and Quinn needs to master the mundane. Having a good OL is a big piece of that too.
  3. he was never coming back next year
  4. Since Quinn came back, Worthy's production between the 20s has fallen off. He gets more looks in the redzone though. His longest TD reception was 44 yards off that nonsense tipped ball against WVU. Card hit him for a 39 yard TD against Tech though. Maybe having Worthy as a roommate and having him bitch about his stats to Ewers all day isn't for the best.
  5. You're wrong, and that's okay. They tried playing tight formations and got beat over and over. The way TCU was lining up and moving post snap was damn near daring us to beat them with the pass.
  6. Running game wasn't gonna work the way they were doing it last night. They would have needed to spread them out and run from there, and even then, they were keying on Bijan. The entire OL, and especially Hutson, had a rough night. They lived in our backfield on most snaps. The main success we had was throwing to JWhitt on screens and letting him beat guys in space.
  7. Quinn's mind is a much bigger issue than his feet. I'm not so convinced he knows the plays that well. Nearly every play has multiple options built into it and Quinn routinely makes bad decisions. He also puts too much faith in his arm and takes riskier throws downfield when he has superior athletes one on one in space around the LOS. Matching Bijan up with a LB on a wheel route doesn't mean Bijan is covered dude Despite his ineffectiveness at hitting Worthy deep, teams still respect the hell out of it. They also respect the hell out of Bijan as a runner. We have two decoys on and Quinn/Sark still don't play off of them enough to make them respect the other guys enough. I believe Arch has a better football mind than Quinn right now, but we would be better off giving him a year to learn the system and the reads before throwing him out there. I think more window dressing would help the offense gain advantage, but if these guys are already having a hard time executing, it could just make that worse.
  8. As a WR, Worthy has to be able to track that ball and at least make them consider calling PI. The DB on his hip tracked and adjusted to the ball intended for the WR better than he did.
  9. Our biggest issues were the drops that kept us from getting more opportunities to attack the defense. It probably helps Ewers get some confidence too. We ran 61 plays and got dominated in TOP despite the defense playing well. They ran clock and further put the stress on our O to execute.
  10. His solution to it was to run unbalanced stuff to get very favorable blocking matchups. TCU said fuck all that with the way they were shooting gaps all night. They didn’t even look like they were guessing right, they just beat our guys to spots over and over and dedicated bodies to stopping the run.
  11. The key to our offense falling apart was the OL/TE losing up front, and Quinn not being able to make good decisions under pressure. This is not something Card would have done better. We needed to be able to run the ball in this game to win and we couldn’t. I would have been upset if we were blown out, but we had multiple chances to win despite our offense. Quinn thinks he can make whatever play he sees, no matter how difficult. It’s well past the time to rein that shit in, but that’s also what made him great in HS. My issue with Sark is that he is allowing the team to live and die by Quinn’s bad decision making
  12. His issue is trusting his arm too much so he doesn't step up when he should. Other than that, receivers gotta catch the ball. Worthy's gotta run better routes. We need a running game to protect the freshman QB.
  13. It wasn't all Quinn, but he missed some big throws. Worthy, Whittington, Billingsley, Worthy, and Milton all essentially dropped passes today.
  14. This was actually not a bad game for the recruiting weekend. The defense played its ass off. Quinn isn't improving. Teams will make Quinn beat them going forward.
  15. Sark's a huge fan of throwing to the RB, Quinn isn't.
  16. Quinn's got a lot of issues. He really doesn't like taking what the defense is giving him
  17. Hopefully we can pull this one out, they’ve been trying to lose for a few weeks now. Other than the OU game, this is also their 8th week in a row of playing tough games. Either we beat them first or Baylor knocks them off first next week. Other than the fact that we’re favored, this is the kind of game our team gets up for.
  18. I appreciate him as a former letterman enough, we’re leaving too much meat on the bone there. I missed the fact that we gave him an extra year in a show of support after last year Let’s see what he can do with BJ Allen next year, I’m not hopeful, he’s got one more year to show up.
  19. Looks like Gideon dropped the ball again. He's not coaching up these safeties, he let the top safety in Texas feel less than heavily prioritized, instead he brings in a guy who ends up playing DE on his HS team. What value does he present? You really don't even see him around in recruit pics. As a young guy, you'd think he have more juice than that. I have to believe his contract will not be renewed after this year
  20. I'm still trying to figure out why no one is after this guy. Ohio State loves recruiting that area, but they never even offered the guy. Clemson didn't offer either. Weird stuff.
  21. Quinn's perceived deep ball ability has been opening things up in the running game too. If he's more patient with it, he'll have opportunities that don't involve throwing into double/triple coverage.
  22. You’re gotdam right they do Twin towers in Austin
  23. This OL struggled to run block earlier this year. Now, they are creating massive holes at times. Much improved, especially at home
