  1. Wouldn't call it an excuse. But I'm sure it can be used as one from time to time. Coaches and players from HS to the pros talk about it all the time these days.
  2. Pretty sure it’s complementary* football guys. And the whole point is helping the other side of the ball with your play. If the offense is hot, get them the ball back. If the defense is struggling/hurt, possess the ball, shorten the game.
  3. Not really an assumption if he’s already said it himself
  4. Definitely better than both in the long run, he’ll likely be 1a or 1b by the end of spring if he comes here. Baxter gives us a Najee Harris level back this offense thrives on. He hits the hole like Rojo and has the home run hitting speed to make it count more often. He’s also supposed to be a focused mofo and we need more of those guys in our locker room. He’d be a major hit to our class.
  5. There’s no fucking way that dude is a take for anyone at this point. Dismissed from both Georgia and Florida. Maybe FAMU takes a flyer on him, but he’s more likely to take his chances as an NFL free agent.
  6. Quinn needs to show he can play on the road, Sark needs to show he can hold a lead, the defense needs to show a pulse against a team that has one. This game really comes down to the OL/DL play though. OL needs to give Sark a reliable run game bc the KSU secondary is pretty good. The DL/LB can’t let KSU control the game on the ground, bc then we’ll need more safety help and KSU lives on explosives. This game could really get out of hand if we don’t bring it early.
  7. Bowl eligibility, road game woes, more wins than last year Hopefully we see more skill guys ready to contribute on both sides of the ball, Whittington is banged up and Worthy can't be the focal point. KState has some really good linebackers so we gotta have a lot of success up front in this game to run the ball well.
  8. It's not how you start, but how you finish. Get it together Sam
  9. At least Terry Joseph brings some recruiting. Gideon has been as much of a nothingburger as PK.
  10. KState is taking away the middle of the field and, unsurprisingly, Sanders is inaccurate outside the hashes.
  11. It just gives him the chance to learn the offense sooner, be a part of the team, and adjust to life as a college student faster than he would otherwise.
  12. Ewers also didn’t have a full season of suck like DJ U did
  13. Consider the reporter. Breaking news! Sources confirm to OB that it has been decided that next year will be 2023. 2024 was really close to being to choice, but 2023 won out in the end.
  14. Guys were open, Quinn didn't see them or didn't have a chance to see or them accurately.
  15. Not sure how those grades happened when Quinn was getting pressured for much of the game. Quinn could have moved better for sure, but he didn't have the cleanish pocket he enjoyed in his other starts. OL got blown up on more than a few runs as well, driven into the backfield or seemingly missing blocks entirely. Weird stuff
  16. You don't want Crawford having to diagnose anything. He's best when you keep shit simple so he can run to ball and hit the ball. Like on special teams.
  17. Damn, Jacoby Mathews too? Even though I think he’s LSU bound
  18. Now check the stats for Hudson card under duress. The OL was the biggest reason for the offensive struggles in Stillwater. Quinn barely had time to make it through his first read on most plays before getting or feeling pressured. The blocking from TEs and WRs was spotty in this game too, Bijan missed a blitzer on a play that would have gone for huge yards too. It was really a total team failure.
  19. The OL had a horrible 2nd half. Their 1st half wasn't great either. Banks and Jones both played their worst game of the year. It sped up Quinn's already shaky timing and things cascaded from there. Quinn missed multiple reads, but was rushed into a few of them. He could have helped his OL out by moving in the pocket better, but he'll get better at that with time. We should start a thread on Kitan Crawford though...he's probably one of the biggest reasons we lost that game. Can't trust that guy at safety at all.
  20. Card isn't making those passes against man coverage either. He probably hits some of the crossing routes that Quinn missed though. You also risk shaking the confidence of your freshman starter.
  21. Agree with most of this, but one of QE’s biggest issues in this game was poor pocket presence. He was getting sped up and bailed early on multiple plays. Combine that with shooting ourselves in the foot at crucial moments and we just couldn’t get shit going. That’s really why I hoped we would stick with the run. Would have limited the amount of negative shit that can happen and I think we would have found a way to get it done eventually.
  22. I can't disagree with much he said there. I noticed the man coverage, and I saw him adjust to it in the pass game only for the guys to fail to execute. I'll go back and check the running numbers eventually, but that one drive was very frustrating to see him ruin the drive by letting Quinn miss a wide open Keilan Robinson on the sideline. WRT the defensive gameplan, TCU laid out the blueprint and it looks like we planned for our guys to stop the inside shit. They still failed to play with inside leverage with any real consistency. This feels like more of a Joseph/Gideon failure to teach their guys proper technique.
  23. Wow, just look what can happen when you stick with the run. Amazing
  24. In the second half, after seeing QE's struggles throwing the ball, there is no excuse for not running the ball even with the failures we had doing it at times.
  25. This was the worst game he's had as far as pocket presence and poise. We should have seen more Rojo to kick the OL in the ass. Banks probably played his worst game as a Horn too. Horrible shit overall, and Sark should have seen it and slowed the game down and work to establish the run in any way possible.
