  1. Mo Blackwell, for all of his athleticism and toughness, hasn't ever been the most heads-up player. He should have been hyper focused on the punter's foot at that point.
  2. I think these guys were just out leveraging us with their smaller size and speed. It happens. I don't think it'll be the same story against OSU, but we can't always rely on deception for blocking schemes to work. Major Preston
  3. You can try to play based on how you think things will go or you can adjust to how things are actually going. ASU played their asses off upfront and had us scouted extremely well. Goosby played poorly, Campbell played below average, Majors got beat or stalemated more often than normal. ASU was aggressive and we really didn't have a ton of opportunities to adjust. It was a hell of a job by Sark and the team to get up early and rally late despite all of the headwinds.
  4. We recruited Milroe while having Tim "commit on these hittas" Beck as OC. Beck got fired, and we replaced him with Mike Yurcich. Yurcich wasn't sold on Milroe as a passer for his system and was actively pursuing other QBs. We were heavily involved with guys like Sawyer Robertson, and we tried to get in on Garrett Nussmeier as well. This did not sit well with the Milroe camp at all. Yurcich was able to get Ewers to commit, and that was enough of an opportunity for Bama, who was already pushing for him after losing Drake Maye, to get him to flip. Herman then lost Ewers 2 months later due to being who he is as a person.
  5. Yea, he'll be lucky to measure close to 5'9 at the combine. The weight is probably accurate, but he's nowhere near 5'11.
  6. He really had a rough game all around. It was tough to watch, I thought his athleticism would shine against these kinds of guys, but he was lunging and his hands were getting displaced way more than in any other showing. Too bad we didn't get the memo that holding was legal in this game.
  7. I don't think he's a match production or culture wise. Wonder why we're bringing him in for a visit
  8. They didn't play any good passing teams in that stretch either. The next time they played Oregon, they gave up 2 more passing TDs. Our defense only gave up 4 passing TDs before playing Clemson, then Klubnik threw 3 of them. We kept ASU from passing for any TDs other than the RB pass play when Muhammad lost his mind.
  9. Yea, and it’s also a hit to the plans the teams are already in the middle of executing. Moving their game to the same day as the cotton bowl or the following day makes more sense.
  10. PK coached against Chip Kelly as a DL coach for Boise State. Johnny Nansen has extensive experience working with and against Chip Kelly though. We really need to let our nuts hang in this one like Arizona State did against us, Ohio State is super tough to come back against.
  11. If Quinn and our OL can handle heavy doses of straight drop back, then we can win next week. Hell of a job by Quinn and Sark though. I really thought the season was over once our guys started losing their minds starting with Quinn forcing the ball into double coverage and getting picked off. That last false start by Kelvin Banks was probably also a season saver, that play was not going to go well for us.
  12. Noah Thomas would be really good with Arch down the field, but we have receivers like him on the roster already who know the offense enough. He's probably better than them right now, but I'd rather see Wingo and Livingstone do their thing next year.
  13. Texas is gonna get shat on by the media and on social media for the next 9 days until the game starts. Our guys are gonna be ready to silence the haters. Only question is, can our OL handle their front? If so, Bond should be healthy again, Wisner and Blue will be fresh, and our defense should be able to hold them under 30. Their LBs can be had in coverage, but our RBs didn't make hay against ASU like I expected so who knows.
  14. You guys are crazy if you don’t think just about every other team would love to have Sark as their HC/playcaller. I hate that this game was even close, but the team made multiple losing plays today and we still did enough to win. That’s on Sark as much as it is on the players. He managed Quinn well enough to get the job done despite not having a rushing attack today. We only ran 60 plays to their 98. Leavitt was a magician back there and Skattebo went bananas. The refs decided holding didn’t exist and their OL became super effective because of it. We won, despite most indicators leaning to a loss. This game was a hell of a job by Sark.
  15. One team is doing everything in their power to win. Going for broke over and over again. The other team is just trying not to lose the game.
  16. They are going to blitz Quinn to force a safety or turnover here. They are desperate desperate. We need to be ready this time.
  17. ASU has been controlling this game for the most part. Without those two explosives, we'd already be in a world of hurt.
  18. This feels like a loss. They've been moving the ball on us more consistently than expected.
  19. Quinn had no reason to bail the pocket there. If they are sitting back in zone, be patient and wait for someone to uncover.
  20. Due to the refs, and two effective turnovers due to ST errors, we've only run 21 plays. They've run like 48 plays and the yardage is still close. Our OL isn't playing as well as I imagined either. We gotta establish the run and use their aggression against them. They're overplaying most of their keys and we aren't taking advantage of that yet.
  21. These refs are trying to make the game more interesting than it should be.
  22. Too big, too fast, too focused Reality is setting in on the ASU sidelines already. Leavitt doesn't realize he isn't one of the fastest guys on the field in this game.
  23. They struggle to cover and they don't get pressure often at all.
  24. Lets get a 3 and out here fellas. Can't let these guys lean on us two drives in a row
