  1. He’s personally responsible for 8 of Baylor’s points. I wish he were as passionate about his own godawful play as his teammates mistakes.
  2. McCutchen would be a HUGE downgrade in CF from McCormick at this point in his career.
  3. I always thought the solid orange caps they wore at home for Saturdays and weekday day games (up through maybe 2015?) were a great look. It picks up the orange piping in the home uniform, and by the same token, the solid blue cap always made more sense for the road uniform with its blue piping. I'd like to see them bring back that orange to wear at home at least some of the time and with the Sunday alternate.
  4. They basically don't wear any two-tone caps anymore. They haven't worn the alternate caps in a long time, and they pretty much wear solid blue on the road now too. I wish they would bring back orange caps though.
  5. $1.81 according to the Farm Bureau’s annual survey. It’s a pretty steep increase over last year. I think Aldi is running a special where they’re selling Thanksgiving staples at 2019 prices.
  6. That potential turkey shortage was reported everywhere. It’s not a Fox News conspiracy. I think I first saw it on The Today Show or something.
  7. Those are the old hats. They haven’t worn those for a few years now.
  8. If you want to roll with Diaz then just do it. Signing Yuli is pointless.
  9. I imagine the biggest factor working against Bell is his defense. Rizzo is not the great defender he once was, and Abreu is…okish, I guess?…but for everyone who says 1B is easy to learn, anybody can do it-check out Bell’s numbers in metrics like DRS and OAA compared to those guys. He’s an actual liability there.
  10. The shift ban is going to benefit Rizzo more than many players. His BABIP this year was only .216 (it's .278 for his career).
  11. All the more reason not to participate in it since it’s not a position of need.
  12. Sophomore. But VY is a great example on another way-remember when he was pulled for Mock, who pulled off a win against Tech? That’s exactly what’s being proposed. I don’t think anyone is arguing for Card to be QB1. I certainly wouldn’t. The whole “he’s not the answer, he lost his job, he sucks” etc. is a straw man (really, not just because it’s the only logical fallacy the internet knows). But if Ewers is playing poorly-and he’s played as poorly as any QB we’ve had in the last decade in 2/3 most recent games-in a winnable game when this team has tangible goals still to achieve, why shouldn’t a guy who quite clearly was not THAT bad get a shot for a series of two to see what happens? Then by all means go back to Ewers next game and let him keep learning. If the only reason not to is nonsense about damaging Ewers’ confidence or potentially creating a QB controversy, then he’s too fragile to make it anyway.
  13. I know you didn’t specify what office, but just based on bringing up Fetterman and Beto, whether you’re talking a state office like Governor or a US Senator, Gen Z is still half a decade away from eligibility for those.
  14. Hey, the Big 12 title game is still a real possibility. Everybody but TCU has a least 3 conference losses. There’s still time for you to get your hopes dashed again.
  15. Worse than scoring 3 points is a tall order.
  16. He started 3 games this year, and in the last one completed 75% of his passes for 300+ yards and 3 TDs with no interceptions. In none of them this season did he look as bad as Ewers vs OSU or tonight.
  17. Except he played QB in 5. And he’s the holder. That’s not it.
  18. They don’t need a lefty reliever at all. And they DEFINITELY don’t need $50 million tied up in the bullpen, that’s nuts.
  19. It's the same point Wulaw made with opportunity cost.
  20. Not as big as the difference between could and cannot.
  21. Sorry. Let me put on my David Dennison hat to respond. Someone is running things. Who do you think that is?
  22. I’ll give him some credit and call it an anti-Click move too. I know you’ve griped about his paying relievers, and the Baez deal in particular was bad-but it was only $12.5 total. Even if Nerris is arguably overpaid, the trade for Montero and signing Stanek were great deals. He hunts for value, probably to a fault since he won’t spend the money even when it’s there. I don’t think he’d make this move either.
  23. Ok, let’s say it’s Crane then. Crane has had a voice in things things, and it’s clear he should. But would you trust him to unilaterally make all roster decisions? Would you say he’s earned that trust? No and no.
