  1. The problem with calling Mexico a failed state is that implies it was stable at some point. But has that ever really been the case since independence? Maybe for about a quarter century or so post WW2, but otherwise it’s been one period of instability after another. “Things not going well in Mexico” could have been a thread at just about any time.
  2. In the good old days you could just declare the whole family attainted, strip their property, offices, even execute them.
  3. Precisely the point. There’s no winners in this, including you.
  4. Invoking Nuremberg as a deterrent and then proposing mass murder as a solution is...interesting.
  5. One is potentially life-threatening. The other calls for a light jacket. Good luck with that.
  6. Eh he’s neither old nor white. Only 1/3.
  7. The reactions are because your posts are nonsensical.
  8. You literally said “Texas is considered to be runner-up (at best) in the Big XII” and he should come help us “get over the hump.” In your judgment we clearly aren’t fine NOW. So you’re peeved that he...shares your assessment?
  9. I’m on board with your point in general...but come on.
  10. You realize how internally contradictory all this is, right? To sum up: I’m mad he’s not coming here because we need him! But we don’t need him!
  11. Beat me to it. Comparing a minor inconvenience to jacking up the price of fuel during a disaster is the epitome of a first world problem.
  12. To be fair, he was told “Go felate yourself in a corner to feel better about your ignorance, snowflake.” Again, #bothsides.
  13. Good Lord...I thought they were all extinct.
  14. Ive eaten this since I was a kid, except with toast. But peanut butter and syrup is a fantastic combo.
  15. 2-3,3-4, A A is nonnegotiable. And I’d rather have a biscuit.
  16. Literally the first response to that post (since deleted by a mod) was neonmoon saying something to the effect that the 6 year old should have been carrying. Multiple posts like that by him on that page alone related to “constitutional carry.” This is a legit #bothsides issue in DT. Partisans have difficulty seeing that.
  17. Maybe terrible as a Bama player. But it’s fantastic if he edits himself into The Sandlot.
  18. If you’re getting negged that much, you probably weren’t legitimately interested in discussion.
  19. You mean you don’t think a third team group of heroes featuring a sentient tree, talking raccoon, and led by Andy Dwyer was predestined to be a smash hit?
  20. Weren't we technically already introduced to the Kree in GotG?
  21. And to follow up, it’s not a belief among the majority of American Christians either. Roman Catholics, Orthodox, Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist, even groups that might broadly be considered evangelical like many Reformed churches or those with roots in the Stone-Campbell movement-whether it’s official church teaching or just the historical reality for those without such a denominational hierarchy, they don’t embrace dispensational premillennialism. Its just that the “Left Behind” people are really noisy. And it IS the teaching of a lot of really visible figures, unfortunately.
  22. I don’t think Gotham is Newark, though. It’s usually placed in south NJ, across from Metropolis in Delaware.
  23. Because-as a Christian-even if we can in good conscience, with reasoning rooted in Scripture, disagree over whether or not loving our neighbors overrides loving our enemies to the point of requiring lethal force in some cases, it is still a tragedy. We should mourn death rather than glorifying it. The memes I saw in the aftermath of that shooting, holding up as a model, effectively saying “Don’t mess with Texas” made me sick. And I’m saying this not to pick on you specifically, but because your comments brought it all back freshly to my mind.
  24. That’s the second time you’ve alluded to this incident on this thread (after saying he “domed a fool” before). I’m glad more innocent people weren’t killed. But celebrating a shooting in a church, especially holding it up as a model for why people should be armed, is pretty unseemly, in my opinion.
