  1. Obviously, you are only pointing that out because you love Hitler.
  2. No, I'm starting from a presumption that you are intellectually dishonest. You continue to demonstrate that in this exchange, as usual. There's nothing more that needs to be said anyway.
  3. Well no, that's not what I did. You asked, "Are those 'conservative?'" I simply pointed out, from your own source, that estimates vary widely, from 1 to 20 million. Of course they think the number is more likely to be toward the low end, given their own estimate of 1.5 million. It would hardly be reasonable for them to say, "We estimate that the number is 1.5 million, though something closer to 20 million is more likely." And, to your point, using their own estimate to prove that their estimate is more likely seems rather circular. At any rate, I wasn't attempting to prove that any number was more likely than another, just that estimates vary widely. I would say that on a scale of 1 to 20 million, 2 million is toward the conservative end. Perhaps you disagree with that.
  4. Do you think that's somehow responsive?
  5. You might begin by reading your own cited source a bit more closely, as an example. The very next sentence after the one you quote states, "Estimates of fatalities during the Cultural Revolution vary wildly – ranging between one million and 20 million (though the former is probably closer to the true number than the latter)."
  6. But defending Mao and Stalin with conservative death toll estimates is totally cool!
  7. I could be wrong, but aren’t you an old white man?
  8. I’m not sure a lengthy excerpt from the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy is the most effective counter to the charge that this is “faculty lounge politics.”
  9. Isn’t that precisely his point? ”Look at Florida. You now have Democrats saying Florida is a lost cause. Really? In 2018 in Florida, giving felons the right to vote got 64 percent. In 2020, a $15 minimum wage, which we have no chance of passing [federally], got 67 percent. Has anyone in the Democratic Party said maybe there’s nothing wrong with the state of Florida? Maybe the problem is the kind of campaigns we’re running? If you gave me an environment in which the majority of voters wanted to expand the franchise to felons and raise the minimum wage, I should be able to win that. It’s certainly not a political environment I’m destined to lose in. But in Miami-Dade, all they talked about was defunding the police and Kamala Harris being the most liberal senator in the US Senate. And if you look all across the Rio Grande Valley, we lost all kinds of solidly blue voters. And the faculty lounge bullshit is a big part of it.”
  10. You realize they only figure up mpg based on the actual games you played in, right? An easy example from this year is Hepa - he averaged 6.4 mpg, but he only played in 9 games. If you figure his actual total minutes (58 - and 26 of those were in a single game!) over 27 games, he averaged 2.1 mpg. To put it another way, on paper we could satisfy giving everyone 30+ mpg the way you are worried about by playing, say, Febres 35 minutes in one game and never playing him the rest of the year. He'd show as 35 mpg in the stats - but that's not really how you distribute minutes, obviously. That's an extreme example, but the realistic point is that the only way to reach the totals you're talking about is to basically not play guys at all most of the year and play them a lot then when injuries hit, artificially making their mpg high. Plus there'd be some guy on the internet worried about distributing like 400 mpg if we applied that across the board.
  11. UGA isn’t a bad school.
  12. Live viewing of body cams by anyone. Who could foresee any potential problems with that?
  13. Ramey hasn’t exhausted his eligibility (even without the COVID year), he hasn’t declared for the draft, and he isn’t in the portal. I get there’s been a coaching change and that we’re in a strange year with COVID (and a new world with the portal in general), but it seems weird to me that everyone is waiting on some sort of announcement from him. You’d normally assume he’s here unless he says otherwise, not the other way around.
  14. Howard University is making a colossal mistake. It's right there in the title.
  15. Yeah but if you take out your posts, it's probably like a page and a half.
  16. Even if you’re an extreme cynic (or conspiracy theorist, whichever) that theory doesn’t hold water. If you’re really trying to exterminate the rabble, you let her murder the other girl and THEN shoot her.
  17. Everything about the Iraq War should be gone. I actually wanted to just see an update on this story, not Bill Clinton’s view of Saddam Hussein.
  18. I thought this was going to be about Captain America.
  19. So based on the last couple of pages, apparently you shouldn’t live in a new house or an old house.
  20. There’s a whole board for this kind of whining. Take it there.
  21. The Egg McMuffin is ok, but there's much better items on the breakfast menu.
  22. You know what the point is. This is every thread remotely connected to religion on the internet ever. As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
  23. Bethany is located just outside Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives.
  24. But not entirely sure?
