  1. I get that Loperfido may not get consistent bats, but I don't know how you don't keep him on the big club. He's proved everything he can in spring training. You gotta see if can translate to the regular season.
  2. Mrs Mo is 9 months from retirement and I'm 1 1/2 years away. Our financial advisor recently said she is going to start slowly moving some of our money to things with more predictable returns, but probably less chance for higher returns. With everything at all time highs, it looks like the money gods have been kind to us.
  3. Getting close to 40K. Major correction coming soon, would be my guess.
  4. Great idea, but not sure we have time to do both with flights, time changes, and getting on and off the ship. Both places look great and I wish we didn't have to choose.
  5. Except he was excited about the Prado and Guernica, which are there. I've been to both, and well worth the time. I definitely prefer Barcelona over Madrid, but Madrid is a great city and worth a few days.
  6. That's the way I'm leaning
  7. I had several thread options to pose this question and this is where I landed. We are doing a cruise in 2025 that sails out of Taipe and ends in Kyoto. The cruise goes to several places in Japan and China. We will likely fly in 3 or 4 days before we sail to get adjusted to the time and to sightsee. We are trying to decide if we want to fly straight to Taipe and spend time there, or fly to Tokyo and spend time there, since it's not part of the cruise. We'd then fly to Taipe the day off the cruise. Anyone been to both and have a preference or have a compelling argument one way or the other.
  8. We stopped there on a cruise last September. Gorgeous. I liked it better then Santorini, although the views are better in Santorini. We just wandered through the alleyways, stopped in shops, visited churches and the windmills. Grabbed a bite to eat in a taverna. There will be lots of tourists, so just know that going in, but it does make for great people watching. I'm sure there's a lot more to the town away from the coast, but we just stayed by the water. There are beaches if you want to swim. We spent some time just sitting by the gorgeous water. Supposedly there's a vibrant night life if you're there at night, but if your schedule is like ours was, you'll sail before then. I'd go back and stay a couple of days.
  9. Today is Mrs Mo's birthday and she asked for a mediterranean vegetable galette she found. It came out really good.
  10. Don't know how you leave him off the big club
  11. You know anyone flying? Book their flight fly them with your credit and have them pay you
  12. Nothing worthy of posting. Our son and DIL live in Arlington and we stayed with them for a day. We went to Taqueria Arandas for dinner and a local place for breakfast. The rest of the meals in Ft Worth were just grabbing things between wedding stuff. We did eat at Luby's, which was walking distance from the hotel and good for 12 people with differing tastes. Easier than all agreeing on somewhere. I got the CFS, which was actually pretty good, but no doubt some here would neg me for. Some of us also went to Salata for a really good salad. We looked at going to Delucca Gaucho for their unique pizza service, but it didn't work out. I may hit it up the next time we visit our kids.
  13. Hope signing him doesn't lessen the chances of Overshown getting some quality minutes. He was having a good start before his injury last year.
  14. Was in Ft Worth this past weekend for a wedding. Friends and family went to Panther City and got a couple of combo platters. They were out of ribs, but got several other things. Wasn't the best I've ever had, but pretty damn good. Definitely better than anything I can get around here.
  15. Just finishing this. Really enjoyed it and should be read by everyone, IMO.
  16. Mrs Mo is Latina from the RGV and her grandmother was born in Mexico so truly an immigrant family. Many in her family are some of the most right wing folks around. I grew up in there as well and know many others the same way. I truly think it's a "I got mine, but you're not going to come get yours" mentality. It's crazy. I have also traveled a lot in Mexico, Central, and South America and the bigotry that exists between countries and regions is crazy. I think that plays into this a well. I'm Mexican and immigrated, but I'll be damned if some worthless Honduran is going to.
  17. Nice day of hitting. Gonna be tough to Loperfido down. He's done everything he can do to make the big team
  18. Mitch McConnell endorses Donald Trump for president after years of frosty ties https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/06/politics/mitch-mcconnell-endorses-trump Another falls in line
  19. If he's out for any extended amount of time, we're done
  20. Call me crazy, but I think playing a little defense might be a thing we ought to do.
  21. Game is really chippy already. Might get ugly
