  1. I'd like to picture you using your first 10 minutes of energy to charge your blue-tooth Dead playlist and your phone and your Cannabis inhaler of choice and your ice maker for bourbon. Then sit down, ingest some substances, put on "Scarlet Begonias" and just start leaving voicemail after voicemail to Centerpoint leadership with passive-aggressive insults like, "What's the point, if your mom's in the center of our threeway?" Or something, I dunno. We'll workshop it.
  2. Yep, there was a concerted (and wise) effort by the Biden campaign and DNC to drill down on some milquetoast Trump voters in certain states so they'd just sit it out. You're gonna get your straight ticket voters who'll pull from anybody from Trump to Tito Puente. You're gonna get the ultra-luny MAGA base. The idea was to keep a few million in the middle of that bloc to stay home outta shame and frustration with Trump. This just convinced a few million of 'em to get back into the fray after all. As if Biden didn't have enough of balancing act, now he has to try to heal all sides while still seeming above the fray of insulting Trump's obvious flaws. There's a job for a surgeon of a surrogate in here somewhere who can still hammer home all the shit wrong with Trump, but without seeming too insensitive nor too close to Joe. And that person will have to get comfortable looking over their shoulder for the next decade. I don't envy them, but somebody's gotta step up.
  3. The no-fault divorce one is still so baffling to me. A significant portion of the divorces that occur between a politician or police officer spouse are declared "no fault" so the man can save face because he's in fact been abusive or cheating on her or substance abuse, or some combo. They make a deal to just make it look like "we've grown apart" so the kids and extended family don't read about the real truth in the news. Now, the actual proof is going to come out. Family Law Courts will have to be on 24-hour watch and the wait times will be measured in decades, or longer. I 've also questions about women not working and staying home with the kids, but I'll suppose we flesh that out later on. Bottom line---there's a bunch of shit on their list they didn't think through that will hurt them. Not as much as it will hurt non-psychotic extremists, but there is some shit that has a fuck-ton of unintended consequences for them too, that they merely inserted for political points. From drug prices to white trash couples having their kids on school lunch programs in rural America, they're gonna fuck over a massive chunk of their base. Then we get to foreign policy, or lack thereof.
  4. Why didn't the officer pull a Brother Blutto and just hop-jump the ladder over a few feet to get out of Crooks' line of sight and then take action?
  5. what venue are they using?
  6. 'No unmet needs'? He said that? That's gonna go right up there with "Things could have been worse." This used to be a cruel asshole, but he spoke in a measured matter. Every since Huffhines and Covid, the shit that comes out of his mouth...even Dan Patrick is like, "Dude, are you okay?"
  7. Okay, there's a lot of talk about camps with no internet but also porn fantasies. Dammit, which version are we getting? What's the cell signal situation for just 360/480 viewing at these re-education facilities? A lot of the kid's background did lean into a typical lone-wolf shooter. White, alienated, conservative, bullied, below average intelligence, familiar with firearms but not competent, angry, frustrated, etc. This one will be different because the SS/FBI won't release his social media/posting behavior because it may encourage copy-cats. Which of course, will only feed conspiracy theories on both sides due to the absence of facts. To bring it back to comic relief/satirical memes. How in the fucking fuck has there not been a Mr. Blonde meme holding that ear, singing "Can you hear me now?" This country used to mean something!
  8. $50 and my vote of your choosing says he'll be giving out Centerpoint C-level blowjobs by this time tomorrow.
  9. Yeah, how do you not act strangely with a fucking rifle and ladder near a metal detector? Not keeping up with all this mixed news, did the kid have the shit there ahead of time? Which explains how he could pass through undetected, but also warrants the question, "Who the fuck swept the area and thought that hunting bag and step ladder seem totally fine." stupid kid took some shots, hit some people. Missed his target. Shit happens. While, I'd like to see the bodycam of the short-pants cop going up/down the ladder, we'll never see it. Conspiracies abound. But nobody is addressing, regardless of party, the elephant in the room. Why in the ever living fuck did the SS agents act like that? "Oh wounded in the head? Let's hold him up higher for a bit longer in the off chance there's a second shooter or the injured primary shooter is still alive and get another round off? And while we're doing that, let's duck down below his waist like he's the human shield and not us!" 1000 versions of what happened will unfurl in the coming weeks and months, but nothing can explain that.
  10. Lotta thoughts today, lotta theories. But let's settle as a nation on two things, regardless of politics. Any kid that age who buttons the top button of his polo shirt is gonna start some violence some day. Second, that yearbook photo. this fucking simulation. Why don't we just accept the inevitable, eventually there will be a captioned title of, "Most likely to commit a high profile shooting." I mean, we're already there, we just haven't walked the idea over to the 'Entourage Yearbook' people yet.

Viva La Furia Roja! My people are back! And on the soil of my other people! Daughter was asking me all kinds of good questions about football and our partial Spanish/Sephardic Jew heritage. And I end up on this rant (as Lobo is wont to do) about this means a lot because the disdain between England & Spain goes back centuries. But in the end, after the Spaniards prevailed, they congratulated the Brits and waited for their medal presentation because all of Europe is together now for the first time ever to combat real evil. And I stopped myself, because she asked, "No daddy, I meant why does the goalie still have his gloves on after the game's been over so long?" Tournament was quite binary. Some really ugly matches and some really elegant ones. In the end Iberia prevails! Now on to the next battle...
  12. We did church service last night before it happened. But I would have been very curious to go today to see if/what people were saying about it. Other than the "Petition to Protect the Unborn", there is zero political content ever which is why I can tolerate it. It's a slightly centre-right parish, but an extremely well educated one so I don't have to deal with the great unwashed masses. I guess I'll find out next week. Wife took the girls to Zilker and South Congress and she didn't hear a peep from anyone about it at any of the crowds they were around. Media is all over it, makes sense-sells ads. But yeah, every where else is pretty quiet. Odd now that y'all mention it.
  13. Well, I genuinely feel bad for Thomas Crooks, Sr. in Pittsburgh. As a father, he should have known his son was "off" mentally and gifted him a firearm anyway. But I'm not gonna fault him for what his son did. Maybe a kid like this goes off and does something stupid, but nobody would have anticipated he'd go off to a political rally and shoot the nominee---especially Pennsylvania Law Enforcement apparently. But now Thomas, Sr. will have to spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder for some angry patriot looking to exact revenge. Poor bastard.
  14. What, you don't bring ladders to political rallies? What kind of an American are you? I think a structure like that was given a once-over by SS and then State/Local officers were charged with keeping an eye on it. Then this 20yo dipshit walks up with a fucking rifle bag and ladder and pulls a Jedi Mind Trick on them, "You don't need to see my credentials. You are about to let me pass." Cops, "We don't to see his credentials, let him pass."
  15. Ah, so you literally served 'under' Lt. Douglas C. Neidermeyer, U.S. Army?
  16. Next week on 'The Austinonians' "Stuart! Oh my god, what are doing here fondling my Honduran housekeeper?!? How did you even get here?" -Well first I took the Dedman to the Manshack before taking a left at the Slaughter. And then backtracked on the Cockburn Lane.
  17. first video-----what the fuck with the teeth of the guy in the blue hat facing the camera around the :24 mark? second video-----as much as he's a moronic douchebag, that's a great thing for Kid Rock to do. Those victims have bad judgement but did not deserve, in any way, to be shot at. Kudos to him and I hope other pro Trump celebs follow suit. There are also some kids in that audience not physically harmed, but gonna need some serious counseling down the road.
  18. This. The transcripts tell a bit of the story, but I suspect the agents debriefing story will never be told for a number of reasons. Most of those communications make sense, but just because the shooter was down doesn't mean it's all over. They were a long ways away from him, they may see blood and immobility, but you don't know he's dead unless you're next to him checking his pulse. He could still get off another round. And the irony of 2 teams of 2-person sniper teams declaring all is fine because they got one sniper, when they're working pairs themselves is interesting. I'll leave y'all to the 'whataboutism' and caliber talk. But it goes against every single thing they are trained on, to straighten up a shot asset with his head held high and then duck down around his waist and freeze for a few seconds. I don't care how you vote, if you want him dead or alive, or DEI agents. In 100 recorded assassination attempts of governors, members, and presidents...there's a reason why you've never seen that. Shit, I bet many of you combat vets on here. An officer gets shot.......do crowd around him, hold him up higher, and then huddle down around his belt for a few seconds before making a move?
  19. He went to Augustana College to work at a Ramada Inn? That's a good school, lotsa friends of mine went there. I bet he doesn't even know who John Lennon was.
  20. A guy named David Chapman is giving out information on assassinations? Let me guess the other name his parents considered was Mark. This fucking simulation. Mark's getting upset!
  21. Yeah, good point. My oldest's bugs me for shit all the time that's before her age readiness like a cell phone. I can't imagine some 10yo boy pouting at me to buy him a rifle because all the other boys in Texas have one. While conspiracy theories are abound, even on here, a board of fairly well educated adults. I think the miss can be chalked up to the fact that he had 24 hours with the weapon, probably shot a little bit here and there after he turned 18. But I doubt he spent all Friday afternoon at the range with his new gift. Kinda weird that he just so happened to get it and then the next morning know exactly where to go with it down to which groove in the structure. But it's most likely just a kid taking shots with his new toy from an uneven surface. Got off a buncha rounds to make a name for himself and fucked up. I have no theory on this, but I am absolutely baffled that those agent's first instinct wasn't to cover Trump up, put him on the ground, form a human shield, at least kneel him down. It was to hoist him up with his head 3' above everything else. I mean, you don't want to take a bullet for him? I get it, but at least get him on the deck. You don't sturdy him up even higher. Maybe they got radio'd the shooter was down. But oh yeah, nobody ever got off another round after being shot. And they had no idea if there another shooter in another position that could have taken an even cleaner head-shot. Again, I'll let all you ballistic jockeys handle this one. Just so fucking weird, even single SS incident ever recorded or photographed, is always the same protocol. If there's a protective surface like a car door, wall, etc.---then yes, shuffle the asset over there in a hunched position. If there's not, you get them on the deck or form a shield around them. You don't straighten out their spine and foist them up and then duck down to their waistline. Somebody please explain that to me.
  22. Man, that scary dude at the door from "Poltergeist" has really put on a lotta weight in eternity.
  23. The kid really just got that weapon the day before from his dad?

Just a few examples. But you seem like the kinda guy that starts conversations with, "You know...as a student of history...let me tell you something."
  25. PA State Police: "Hey, you can't bring a rifle into this area." Shooter: "It's okay, we're an open carry state. Just exercising my 2A rights" PA State Police: "Yeah, but his is a Trump rally. You can't carry here." Shooter: "But I've got this here ladder." PA State Police: "Well damn son, come on through..." (Narrator checks list of state nicknames, "Oh, so they're literally the Keystone Cops?")
