So much to dissect there, and Pete handles himself brilliantly as per usual. Rep. Perry knew he was fucked from the first few seconds of Pete's rebuttal. And while I find no surprise in his regurgitating GOP House leadership talking points, watching him be baffled about how car sales work between Q4 and Q1 was kinda weird. I didn't know there were still adults around that don't understand how car "model years" work. The guy literally has tens of thousands of voters in his rust belt district that provide raw materials and parts for auto plants in Michigan, Ohio, and points beyond.
But watching learn in real time he didn't understand how calendars work was fucking weird. I can take the lies and the vitriol, but it was like watching someone have onset dementia in real time. Like watching somebody realize, "Hey, you ever notice how Easter falls on a different date every year, and Christmas Day is always a different day of the week, but Independence Day is always on the 4th of July, how is that?"
