  1. That the framers never considered the possibility that a federal judge appointed by a sitting U.S. President who would later have to appear before that judge to answer for treasonous acts against the Republic could be in a compromised position? I know they get a bad rap, these old white men in whigs...but fucking-A, how the hell could have seen this coming?
  2. Point taken, when I wrote "other coaches", I was including other under-performing coaches in sports like softball, soccer, and M&W basketball, et. al. Yeah, Pierce was just wildly inconsistent with results and had plenty of resources with which to work. In the end, his recruiting and relationship with staff/roster was just unpleasant to say the least. I think many of us are just tired, with all we have at UT, of taking flyers on guys from Illinois, Cincinnati, Univ. of Houston, Tulane, VCU, etc. And it proves itself out when they are relegated to places like Arizona, USF, FAU, etc.
  3. Yes, and Generalissimo Franco is still dead. I like Coach Pierce. Apparently he rubbed quite a few staffers and players the wrong way. And I never had great confidence that a guy with moderate success at SHSU and Tulane could win big-time in the Big XII/post-season. But fact remains, he performed better than a number of other coaches we've kept around the 40 with much less to show for it than Pierce. It's the right time make a change though given what we're about to head into. He's still got a lotta baseball left in him an I wish him all the best. CdC seems to understand no more 'up-an-comer' hires, just folks with proven track records at premier programs who want to come for a chance at something even bigger. Thanks Coach for all you did, getting passed the torch from Augie was no easy task. We had some real successes and speedbumps along the way, but time to move on.
  4. "I'll take animals 'Aggies have yet to fuck' for $900, Alex."
  5. Speaking of immortality and Aggies, I learned earlier today in one of my daughter's vet books that a Sheep's lifespan is about that of a dog, 10-12 years. Unless it gets an STD from a Cadet.
  6. I think that dude died like 10 years ago after leaking the Shaka hire. I'll give you this PE, you bring old shit outta the blue better than any woman I've ever known. And that's saying something...
  7. Given the graphics, this appears to be a Hispanic/Latina church. This is going to read awkwardly, but we all know it to be true. You can let them sell these "Heavenly plots of land." But we could start a property insurance plan tomorrow for said plots of land that guarantee that no 'undesirable" Latinos or Blacks or Asians will be allowed to live near your plot. And if they do somehow end up there, this insurance plan will recoup your money and relocate you to another cloud with people more like you, or even whiter. Jokes aside, we could do this and have enough money by 31 July to get a suite at DKR for Surly and fund every single tailgate and NIL project immamac has in mind. 'Heavenly Hatred Insurance', for when the darker ones come for your afterland. And they will.'
  8. Sorry for partying? I gotta give it up for the Yellow Pages people. They were still dropping copies off on our porch into 2020, 20 years after anybody needed one of their products and they were beyond bankrupt and wasting tree pulp was looked down upon by even the oldest of anti-environmentalists. I used to still bring them inside and make the same lame joke to my daughter, "here, we've printed off a portion of the internet to throw away." And then I'd do the thing I did since the 1980's. I'd turn to the white pages and scroll down with my giant hands and look for "Sarah Connor." Then recycle the fucking thing. Even those printed coupon books the Boy Scouts would sell finally saw the light, and just gave up on hard copies. But the Yellow Pages people are still doing strong in some areas. Was walking through a hotel at Christmastime with the kids a few months back. And there was what obviously used to be a phone bank. The phones were gone, but the little dividers and chairs were still there along with some holiday decor. They asked me what it was, and I had to be honest, "It's a waste of square footage, that's what it is." Every day in this country, 10 bank branches are shut down because the real estate makes no sense anymore. And I will start a fund to renovate them into Waffle Houses/Underground Fight Clubs. No Wait, No Mercy!
  9. Yep, you guessed it: dibs on "very heterosexually engaged" for my band name.
  10. Gil Hicks, "So at this not even open Salzburg HEB, did she come or what?" Brodie, "Jesus Christ Man, there's some things you just don't talk about in public!" Bad news folks, this couple is gonna be elected to their local School Board and eventually the State Legislature. And we live inside a machine.
  11. Yeah, this. Congrats to Florida but Edmonton made a helluva rally in the series. They were just gassed in the end. You could see it in the passing game. But I suppose that's why they say "Leave it all out there on the ice." Maybe the Panthers will get lucky and get invited across town for Whoppers.
  12. Whew. Close one. Thought the Vols were gonna crush them, but they made a comeback. So they equaled their previous 75 years of Omaha wins this year though, right? On to the coaching search and portal I suppose...........-
  13. Well, he did wear the number 7 for awhile.
  14. If you ever have the occasion, read "The Road to Jonestown" by Jeff Guinn. I interviewed him about 6 months prior regarding a different novel (kind of a wesern). At the end of the interview, he revealed to the audience his then-in-progress book about Jim Jones and the flavor-aid massacre, really just foucuses on the last days...not so much an examination of the entire cult. I took him to the airpot afterwards, he was literally getting to Houston to catch a plan to South America because he was putting the final touches on his Jonestown book and wanted to be there in the muck and mire, the weather and the vibe of it all. This was all shortly before Trump beat Clinton in November of 2016. So we're on Hwy. 71. I ask him why it's so important he spend a few nights in the Guyana jungle? I get method acting and method writing, but this seemed extreme; but every artist has their process. He said all his research, all his sources for the new book, everything completely parallel to MAGA nation. So he wanted to see what it was like to live like a true believer, even if you get malaria or Hep-A. Guinn has written books about Koresh and the Manson Family. But he cracked a joke at my expense before leaving, but after telling me he's been studying and writing about cultish worship of lesser men, and he's going to South America to see what it was like that morning in the physical/natural sense. Because he had an awfully weird feeling it was going to be like what he was sensing in the U.S. at the time. /csb
  15. I assume the 30-days starts today, so 24 July, or? I follow the game closely, but ever since Covid-19, I'm just lost when it comes to transfers and deadlines and all that shit. I know registration beings 21 August, so should be plenty of time to get acclimated given the coaching change.
  16. I see the MLB draft is 7/14-7/16. What is the portal deadline?
  17. Once again, "Good Guy with a Gun" was 5 aisles over, reading organic label propaganda from the libs.
  18. Wait, is the Salzburg HEB even open?
  19. They annihilated 8mm ethnic minorities in 2.5 years. I'd say that makes them efficient. Evil, but effective. Things don't precisely as planned with a hefty chunk of good luck at Normandy, and the Soviets don't have millions of troops into the meat grinder...we likely see a Europe still living under Nazi rule. The average German in 1939 is far more educated and reasoned than the average MAGAT in 2019. Trump, thankfully is nearly 30 years older than Hitler. And because of his scrape to the top, Hitler knows when to fold 'em. Trump is gonna fight and bitch and moan until his last dying breath, which may not occur for another decade.
  20. I have had a lot of older relatives over the course of my lifetime get thing confused. But nobody ever referred to the 'Dishwasher' as the 'Washing Machine.' Everybody knew up until the day they died that the 'Washing Machine' was for clothes and linens and the other thing, 'the Dishwasher', was for flatware/plates/bowls/etc. Even my oldest, most senile relative knew that until the very end.
  21. Bad news is he’s gonna blow thru at least $50mm that could have been better spend winning some legislative and appeals seats.
  22. Yeah, I dunno if it was selective editing but saw a cut of her heading to bench during a TV stoppage. Her entire squad and all coaches just iced her out. I get there are grudges on teams. We’ve all been thru ‘em in high school and college. And I realize pro is different, but she’s actually a net asset to their pro bottom line. This is just baffling. They’re a few games away from refusing to play to protest her existence in the league.
