That dude led a very interesting, albeit short-lived career, pitching for Houston. He has an unofficial record for most clubhouse hairdryers broken. Gets traded to the Blue Jays, whereupon starts his press conference, asking in a serious tone, if the Canadian reporters, "Spoke American." Gets released from all of pro ball, and then proceeds to kidnap his two cousins (one a pro singer, the other a pro bowler of all things). His whereabouts remain unknown. I'm thinking a lot of his issues stemmed from him not liking his surname.

I thought it was a lyric to "Iko Iko". Hey now, Hey now, my full name is Jkmn Feena Andan Day

Only in the nice parts of California. Do some of you bros even Bakersfield? Bigger than Arlington, TX. About as exciting. And even cheaper to live. South of Stockton to Santa Clarita all east of IH-5. South of IH-10 to Mexico (save for the coastal cities). And then that corner NE chunk by Nevada. It's cheaper than most Texas suburbs in terms of real estate. If you don't mind horrific schools and being surrounded by fucking morons.

dibs on Electoral Roux for my new alt.cajun band. A lot of our catalog is politically edgy. I really wouldn't focus on the youth vote, one way or the other. Every cycle, they talk a big game and come out in more and more pathetic numbers save for 1 of 2 outliers since Vietnam/voting age amendment. I wouldn't worry about RFK or No Labels, those people are gonna spite to spite. I wouldn't worry about changing the mind of somebody who has proudly voted straight ticket GOP (so many states still allow it) no matter who is on the ballot. I wouldn't worry about the 25mm rare/never hardcore MAGA voters, they're dug-in and all-in. It's the other group. Shame them too hard and they break for Trump to 'show you who is boss.' Like anything in marketing, gotta just nudge 'em enough so they come to the conclusion on their own. And a few million stay home. Their turnout, or lack thereof, is gonna tilt this thing. Not a few thousand college kids showing up to protests mostly just to be edgy and possibly get laid. -
Forgot about the Aetna thing. Pharmacies are still one of those things that people like to do in person (right after their doctor visit or what have you). Plus, just biologically speaking, the demographics needing the most drugs are little kids. And when your child is in pain/sick, you can't wait even 24 hours for Prime delivery, you need it in 60 minutes. And the other is folks 60+, and they are still distrustful/uneducated of getting pills by delivery. But the footprint of those stores is just insane these days. You pick up all that other ancillary shit at your grocery store or via home delivery. The Walgreen's I use for our family Rx pickups, half the aisles look like they've been looted by angry ex K-Mart employees. And given its parcel of land value, they are bleeding cash. We did some due diligence on an interesting concept alongside a well-known former grocer's new concept. Those modular shipping containers you see that get dropped and turned into shit nowadays? So this would sit near a proper B&M pharmacy because you can't have those kindsa drugs just sitting out in a parking lot for liability purposes. But the container rents a few parking spots for pennies on the dollar, the pharmacy downsizes. Management company siphons off most of the square footage, TI's it, and leases it to something else like restaurant, barber shop, coffee shop, some in-person experience. Anyway, the container sells all the OTC you'd buy at a pharmacy like deodorant, cough syrup, tampons, etc. Real estate savings are passed along to consumer or given to the delivery service that picks the shit up for you. Because even if you're not getting an Rx refill, once a week every single one of us drives all the way to CVS to grab eye drops or toothpaste or diapers. And we didn't want to "deal with the hassle of HEB for 2 things." Well, we just wasted as much time and gas either way, and paid a sizeable markup for the privilege. Just have it door-dashed to you and the discount they give on the items due to lower G&A, just let the driver keep it in lieu of tip. There are food deserts, but there are Rx deserts in a way. Some families can't haul the kids 45 minutes round-trip on a bus or train to pickup vitamins and soap. It's not time-effective. And they can't afford the surcharge of a delivery service, so drop these in underserved communities so at least they can get the essentials in an easier fashion. /csb Other than getting some good advice from a caring pharmacist, when was the last time you had a remotely pleasant experience at a Rite-Aid?

I think I got a bout of that after sex with their other sister. How the heck do you get to "Noel" from "Jkmn?"

A story about a pathetic man's downfall [34 Felony Convictions]

Or that most ships over history ran on wind power, which we now know---thanks to him---causes cancer. Or that 'the Ark' was built by a dark person from the Middle East. Or the Catamaran boat was developed by Asians from shithole countries in SE Asia and the South Pacific Islands. His knowledge of maritime vessels is truly another sign he is a gift from Jesus, another avid boatsman. Also, how has nobody come up with a meme of those boats sinking at his boat parade on Lake Travis a few years back? With a shark superimposed. -

I think it's fair to say that there are more "big issues" this cycle for young people than there usually are w/r/t Gaza, Student Loan Forgiveness, Abortion, DEI/LGBTQ+, and Jobs. I'm sure that'll all result in maybe a 5% uptick in turnout in their demographic. But they haven't tilted an election since 1972, I doubt this one will be any different in the end. I would wager heavily that half the young people at these protests aren't even registered to vote and don't even know in many of their states, the deadline to do so has already passed. -
What the fuck does Nebraska need with that many counties (93)? Does every family in the Cornhusker state get their own county, or what? You see those headlines, "This candidate won a record number of counties nationwide". Well yeah, that's easy to do when some of those states have more counties than they have people.

Oh yeah, the model is great financially. But it sucks for quality of care. You see it in classic "father/son" models from Vet to Dentistry to Optometry to Pharmacy. The child doesn't want to stick around in the town to take over the Mom & Pop shop who worked to provide excellent care, so they bolt for other opportunities. So you get the practitioner from a few towns over to hustle all around and run 3 clinics poorly instead of 1 clinic really well. With sliced staff and increased charges.

Yeah, If his hypothetical all-electric boat sinks. And he rides it down with the idea that he then treads water above it, it's the same "electrocution" effect 2 feet above it than 2 feet to the side of it. I mean, assuming his insane hypothetical is true. Also, he does realize that almost all motorized, gas-powered boats still have batteries on them (starter, radio, lights, etc.)? And that even a mid-size yachts or houseboat have redundant battery systems on them that are the size of a Mini Cooper. I mean, he's lived near the water his whole life almost (NYC & FL), he's seen large boats. I think he even owned a yacht at one point but is too much of a beta to not get out on the water. But he has to know they have batteries on them already. And yes, you can get electrocuted in water, but he doesn't seem to understand how it would carry through the water. Anyway, obligatory Shark Party: -
That's crazy. I realize the insurance model has probably hurt their model, particularly the smaller shops. But with a lot of fields like that, don't discount these two issues: 1. Multi-generational pass-downs of practices. Yeah, nobody leaves a Duane-Reade location to their kids who studies pharmacy. But in a lot of exurban/rural areas, the parent would practice for decades. One of the kids would go to school and then take over the practice when dad retired. That model is deader than dead. in PE, we see it all the time in Vet/Animal practices and Optometry especially. Dad needs to sell out to retire, a young doctor can't afford it alongside their student loans. So a fund swoops in, buys up 10 in the MSA, the new vet or doctor is brought in. they consolidate services, trim expenses, etc. the usual model. It's happening with 1-3 location pharmacies as well. Same thing with Rx. Young pharmacist can't afford to buy their way in. PE firm consolidates a dozen small pharmacies across several counties. Rinse and repeat. Or just shut them down and make better use of the real estate. Speaking of which... 2. Another reason for so many shutdowns is the massive real estate overhead of chain pharmacies. Just an anecdotal example. On our main street alone, there are 3 well-known pharmacy chains (plus one compound pharmacy and a 'wholistic' pharmacy in People's). They big 3 are always busy as hell with pickups, shots, consultations, drive-thru, etc. But there's almost nobody else doing any other shopping in the store. Sure, somebody grab a candy or a hygiene product while they wait, but you see this in your communities as well. Chains paying $30-$40/ft2 for 6,000 square feet and 80 parking spaces on a full acre on the off-chance that after you pickup your pills, you might buy at 15% marked up greeting card? And there's really no way they can pass those real estate costs to you just because you get your refills there because drug pricing has to be much more uniform than all the other shit they sell that nobody buys. Folks will always need their medicine. But Walgreen's is realizing they don't need to pick it up at a location with a 30-year NNN Lease bleeding cash from the rest of the operation. So they fold.

I love that right as the lyrics "Where at least I know I'm free...", that's when the bull starts plotting its escape. This fucking simulation. Now complete with semen-filled octopus, or 8 toed member of Congress filled with semen. Either way. We're workshopping it just as soon as the one stoner at the Oregon Jesus Rodeo comes down from his high and realizes, "Man, I was so fucking high around all these hicks. I thought I saw a bull jump the fence and tear up the food court. I couldn't get a funnel cake or nuthin'."

Okay, so age aside. I'm sure Kara is very skilled and has a rapport with the rest of the team and knows the Olympic style of play. But from her stat line, it looks like she'll be that "plays every other game for 5 minutes" type. And that's fine, every squad has one. I'm not talking about her skill set or merit or any of that. But again, there is a financial component, particularly with women's sports at the Olympics. The team basically raises their own budget (aside from lodging, logistics, and security). That's just how our USOC is set up. At this point in the summer, the 2024 budget is already locked in and the WNBA season is well under way so in-person appearances/clinics/endorsements are basically done. My point, from the court aside, is if I have my choice between two players to play mop-up time in Paris. One brings almost nothing to the table in terms of corporate partnerships and fundraising, just 'veteran' status. The other can be advertised for the next 4 years as "Olympic Athlete & WNBA All-Star" xyz, and can raise millions and millions of dollars for the 2028 squad in our home country as a former and future Olympic Medalist (despite limited minutes), who do you select for that 12th roster spot? If the other 11 can handle the opponents, wouldn't it be nice to have the most fully-funded women's Olympic squad in 2028 in the United States in the history of the sport? But I forget that Kara has put in her time, and money never plays a role in the Olympics.

From your science-types, apparently in late stage testing, there was promising results late last week on the Covid-Flu joint vaccination shot. I didn't know what to make of the story, but it sounded promising. I still will continue to get them separately. I held off on this last booster shot schedule because of some other health shit. But I think I should get one this Autumn again. And then Flu shot a couple months later. TexCares brought me back in to test my blood after dropping me from the program because of some other 'marker' (I don't remember the terms they used) because I had gone so long with so much exposure, I didn't get it. And then I got it right after my last booster (I didn't notice it at the time). So they're doing a whole study reboot on shit like that. But I didn't go in for more blood draw. In other news, Chili's chips are for shit. But the salsa is good. Much as I give people shit for eating at that dump, when I traveled weekly for work...if I saw an airport Chili's...I'd put down 2 baskets and 3 beers without taking a breath. I wouldn't storm a state capitol building about it, but I'd be "Pleased Wait to be Seated"

For the women's college hoops experts on here (I am admittedly not even a men's hoops expert), who would say is the 12th spot on the Olympic roster? I know it's not fair, but every single team has their 12th player. The one that plays only every other game and even then for just 3-5 minutes? Every competitive team has one from high school to NBA to the Olympics. Who would it be on this Paris squad? I'm not gonna compare stats or value add. I'm just wondering who it would be.?

I swear that's not the Waffle House location Brisket and I go to. Allegedly. Was that a broken crutch he was hitting the other guy with? I guess the med supply store was all outta machetes? Some good news, after 6 years of trying to find a tape measure to see if the little cars with adults sitting in them would clear the tunnel, the Zilker Eagle is ready to roll later this week. So if you take the scale of the Zilker Eagle and the Project Connect trains and get a ratio of size:time, we should be getting our light rail in 2183.

A story about a pathetic man's downfall [34 Felony Convictions]

When he references the MIT guy telling him, "You know, that's a great question sir. Nobody's ever asked me that before" referring to sinking on an electric boat or fighting off a shark attack. I realize it reminds me of the Will Ferrell as Harry Caray sketch on SNL years ago with Jeff Goldblum as the Cal Tech Professor, "If you had a choice of being the top scientist in your field or getting Mad Cow Disease?" Just because nobody's ever before asked a batshit insane question, doesn't make it a good one. Cherry on top, if you watch the sketch. Caray, like Trump, talks about staring straight at an eclipse. Going back to Trump's speech, "They bit off the young lady's leg because of the fact that they were not hungry. But they misunderstood what, who she was." I think he thinks sharks have instagram accounts and can figure out who everybody in the ocean is based on their profile pic. And then choose to engage or not, but sometimes they get confused because all Floridians look alike to them. Anthony Jeselnik would have a field day with this material. -

Given their complete alignment of worldview, I'm sure the Lennon Estate will be totally cool with Trump using John's likeness to raise money. Imagine, Trump doing the double ghost jerk-off dance to a John Lennon song. -
that's why I said "on the whole", meaning all of American society. Otherwise, I would have said "pro sports" or "college sports" or "athletics" On the whole, at the macro level, 35000ft. view, insert cliche here............it is easier to be White in the United States than not be White. Obviously individual cases may vary, especially in sports. On the whole, at the macro level, etc. Life if is easier when you're right-handed and attractive and thin. Some shit, just is. Wasn't my idea. I'm saying I think Caitlin is great for the sport. My daughter loves her. She's aces in my book. Being white has nothing to do with her play on the court, but it will help her a tad on endorsements, but nothing she probably wouldn't go on to warrant otherwise. Sorry, I'm just stuck in a loop here because of the "tall privilege" thing that the media keeps throwing out there. In fucking basketball, of all sports. It's like claiming Alex Morgan or Mesi has "foot privilege" in soccer because people with club-foot can't play football very well. Also, don't enter "Foot privilege" in your porn browser searches. It gets weird in a hurry.

Maybe when he said "The Sharks", Trump was talking about the Puerto Rican street gang who loved hurled Paper Towels and told the "Back the Blue" Officer Krupke, "Fuck you"? No respect for law & order, these sharks. Nor maritime batteries or living in Nevada. It's awesome we're gonna try really hard to give him back the nuclear codes like some kinda bizarre Adult Transition Services non-profit. WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I bet you the legal campaign donation maximum that Donald doesn't even know what the fuck "M.I.T." stands for. And if he had to answer, he'd say, "Marla & Ivanka Trump." All our hyperbole aside, especially mine, this is starting to get fucking weird even for this timeline. People were paid off craiglist to sit in the heat of the day near Las Vegas to hear a senile, orange former President talk about sharks. And the media is standing around like, "Yeah, this checks out. This'll play..." -
