  1. Looking at my Discovery Channel app because the girls like to watch cool ocean shows before we head to the beach in the summer. And 'Shark Week' ends on July 11th, the day of Trump's sentencing. Because, of-fucking-course.
  2. If only there was a way to attract nurses and P.A.'s from other countries to the U.S. to backfill our healthcare provider shortage? Like some kinda system. Nah, forget it.
  3. Okay, so his insanity is literally "jumping the shark" right now? We asked 100 desert-dwelling Nevadans "What is your biggest concern this election season?" Top 5 answers are on the board, "Show me 'Sharks'!" Alright Lombardo family, pass or play? I sweatergod, he's five minutes away from claiming the sharks are eating so much because they're not getting the low-cost insulin he provides for living creatures. And are these electric sharks 220 or 221? I can't fucking believe how many 'educated' people on this message board are gonna watch these clips and their first instinct will be to send him money.
  4. Well the fucking "Jaws" reboot sounds weird as fuck. Please at least tell me there's a Trump boat rally involved with these laser-beam sharks? What in the bloody hell was the context for his shark rant? Is it some high level political metaphor I don't get? 'Shark Week' isn't for another month dammit! Now, we can't get tickets! Thanks a lot, Biden! This is after he tells them he doesn't care about them, just their vote and runs a shadow price-setting cabal for insulin? In the town of casinos, an industry he frequently bankrupts There's no fucking end to this, is there?
  5. Dammit people, it wasn't Kool-Aid. It was flavor-aid. And the best reason of all that the analogy fits, is the flavor-aid was Orange.
  6. What if you're just driving to Sante Fe with your wife who happens to be pregnant, to visit friends?
  7. I don't want a McRib, I want a goddamn literacola!
  8. You need a link to understand that it's, on the whole, easier being white in the United States than any other race/ethnicity? Okay.
  9. Okay, the evil stone dog that came to life at the tall building in "Ghostbusters" is real now? This fucking simulation.
  10. Dude, this 20 December is the 35th anniversary of the invasion of Panama. You have any idea how many Van Halen downloads I'm giving away as Christmas presents. You don't even know bro, you don't even know.
  11. And the in the black's name? You guessed it. Stretch Armthong
  12. Yeah, Kevin basically just summarized our thread in 90 seconds. Because he's usually as long-winded as I am. I would just add to his expert evaluation. So many multiplexes are reliant as either "anchors" to shopping malls/outlet malls or as major Pad partners to massive strip centers. And those are all dying retail models and they'll take the theater down with them. In a larger mixed-use project with office/dining/multi-family like a Domain or Hill Country Galleria, a nice theater experience can still work very well. But the decline is so marked of people driving 20 minutes to do some window shopping at some Class B retail center or mall to then take in a movie and then go to Applebee's afterwards. It happens in exurban/rural areas, but at the $/ft2 in suburban/urban markets, it's completely untenable. There's a reason Fandango laid so many people off...
  13. I've listened to 4 Athletic Directors tell us "Even though we're a big school and big Department, we're gonna do a limited number of sports but do them really well. Dodds was just trying to shift with the times. Patterson means limited number of options in the dining hall to save $90/day, I dunno what Perrin meant. But del Conte meant it and he's executing on the plan between great hires, facility upgrades, NIL, and getting rid of people that don't get the vision. Even our alumni base is starting to come around the culture shift. Congrats to all the Longhorn Student-Athletes! Any updates on the beach ice hockey team launch?
  14. Yeah, it certainly exists in the private sector. Maybe even in the military/government. In some sports, it's a liability like horseracing or gymnastics. But I've just never heard it applied to the one game where you have to build a team with the tallest people available, even guards. Yes, there was Mugsy Bogues. But there've been 1000 guards that were 6'6"+. Is there "left-handed" privilege in the bullpen of baseball? Jesse Orosco would probably say yes since he's still pitching professionally once a week for 3 minutes at age 107.
  15. this is getting to be a weird thread, and that's saying something for this board. -There is objective evidence that she does benefit a bit from being white. and that the WNBA and USWNT would probably do well not to throw her under the bus for bringing money and eyeballs. But as we see all across America these days, people love to vote against their own interests in some sort of "display." -She's not getting by on her looks, sorry. She's average looking, we all know it. All the other players and commentators know it. You don't hit 30' jumpers based on being a 6. -I just saw another article mentioning 'Tall Privilege.' Seriously, how the fuck is this a thing in basketball? It sounds like something fucking Joe Rogan made up.
  16. I would have, but my Sbarro's slice was getting cold and I had to get outta there quickly and hit up Sam Goody for a Spin Doctors album drop.
  17. You know how they had to change diesel pump diameters long ago at retail gas stations (not truck stops) because when unleaded fuel became the norm after 'leaded' was phased out, people would still accidentally put diesel in their unleaded tanks? I think Marge is the kind of dumbass that would open up the charging port of an EV and put gasoline in it for some bizarre, idiotic photo opp. And blow herself the car up, and we are laughing. Also, "Old Glory Bank"? Really? Endorsed by John Rich? Cancel Culture Banking? This fucking simulation? Does Old Glory Bank offer Old Glory IRA's and Old Glory Insurance? Insurance protection for when the Woke Robots come for us? I hear they eat Republican's guns for fuel. For when the metal ones come for you. And they will.
  18. It is now completely dark in Northern France. For the first time since the landing, most troops will finally get a 'decent' night's sleep at this hour as there are enough taken villages and towns to accommodate that many men. the invasion continues to go better than anticipated. But 10 June holds a very grim fate for the Allied Expeditionary Force. Tomorrow morning will begin the bloodiest day since the beachhead. Several thousand men fall asleep now for the last time---tomorrow will bring 15,000 casualties (~5,000 KIA) including POW/MIA.
  19. Yeah, he gave a different name and pretended he was a crackhead. None of his story checked out. Which I think is why he made an ideal fact-checker at FoxNews years later.
  20. I crushed it at "Banana Republic" once in my mid 20's. Got three striped dress shirts and some black shoes with silver buckles on 'em, all for $93+tax. In addition to the heat/no shade, the mom has her in a tank-top with no sunscreen and they look like they're headed to Golden Corral after the rally, because she knows nutritious meals are what's best for her kids.
  21. Mike Judge went to a lot of trouble to make most of the movie look like "generic industrial park/chain restaurant/typical apartment complex, USA" We all recognize some of the filming locations because we know Austin and Dallas, but to most viewers...it could be anywhere. But when Lawrence says "Las Colinas", my first thought was "Man, he's getting awfully drunk for a guy who's gotta make a 3-4 hour drive in the morning to do 9 hours of manual labor and then drive 3-4 hours back." Csb/ A girl I dated lived in those apartments off Metric (can't recall the name). I came over one day and she swore the dude already there was just offering her some magazine subscriptions. But I had my suspicions.
  22. It actually goes all the way down to County, Muni, and even School Board levels. Again, it's a nuanced position that the Framers simply did not anticipate. On the one hand, they kept it so convicted people could still run for/hold office. The idea being some British loyalists couldn't still swoop in, have some show trial, throw a candidate for Congress in jail, and make sure they could serve the newly found nation after they got out. By the time Texas comes along and forms its Constitution, that wasn't a big concern anymore...so they just issued a blanket "you get convicted, you can't run for anything." Many western states have similar language in their constitutions because it wasn't a huge deal after the mid-1800's. I kinda see an in-between compromise. But no states are changing shit about this right now given the right stakes. Maybe in the 2032-33 cycles/sessions. Texas could put a constitutional ballot measure to change this in the next two years. But considering the language of them typically reads like it was written after Trump got an online law degree and then drank a lot of cough syrup...I doubt it would move the needle much.
  23. I like that the shitty gift still includes the most cliche Father's Day gift of all..........a $30 necktie from China. You draw in a bottle of Old Spice, and the simulation is complete.
  24. Well of course, he wouldn't support BK. He gets paid to do the drywall for that new McDonald's up in Las Colinas. You don't bite the hand that feeds you. Unless it's with two chicks at the same time.
